"3d Print A Motherboard" Computer - Computer Setup
Comments
What is a home lab?
Vnware environment for some pen testing etc.
Purchase a cheap sleeved 24 pin extension connector to fix the rainbow colors, awesome system however.
Forgot specs:- i7 3770k, be quiet dark rock pro 2 CPU cooler, asus sabertooth z77 motherboard, 16gb patriot black mamba RAM, gainward gtx 570 gs glh, 128gb m4 SSD, 500gb caviar blue and NZXT Phantom full tower.
Thanks, thats the exact setup that I want to have soon. Just need the mobo, cpu and ram. Now I know what kind of height I can use on the ram to still fit the cooler properly :)
I have the same case and cooler. Shame the RAM gets in the way in mine, pushes the fan on the cooler up so I can't put the side on... Yours looks nice though.
Did you put a 680 in that bitch?
Didn't have any cash left for a new GPU unfortunately but I will probably just get a 2nd hand 570 and go SLI
Simple, but very nice. You did a great job with your cable management, I'm very impressed; there are so many builds on here with piss poor cable management, it's as if only people that watercool care about it. It's so nice to see someone, you, who cares about it.
Tbh I have to thank NZXT for the cable management the Phantom was a lovely case to work with and made it easy to manage the cables. My old rig was noisy and I paid no care for noise. My cooler came late so I had the standard intel one for two days and compared to that the Be Quiet is inaudible and the build quality is on par if not better than my old NZXT noctua
That's good to know, and I completely agree. I did my build in an OG Phantom, like you, and I am probably going to get the new one, either the 630 or the 820, for my next rig because of how nice the full size Phantom was. People say it looks silly, and maybe it kinda does, but what's wrong with wanting your rig to look like a space ship!?
Dumb question probably, but do you not need to plug power into your GPU?
Yes you do! :)
So... did you just unplug it to make your cable management look better or do you have some fancy alternate cabling solution?
How do you like the Asus monitors? Why didn't you choose Dell U2412m ?? I'm trying to decide between them
I considered the dell but I got both of these monitors for around £180 each so they were a steal. There is some slight bleeding on one of them but its unnoticeable 99% of the time.
WOW!!! SNAP I have that mug!!!, PS sweet rig!!!
Where is the memory? I haven't built a rig since the Phenom 2 came out; is this that new thing where people 3D print a motherboard cover?
The memory is hidden by the CPU cooler, its a beast! No the motherboard is by Asus and has 'thermal armor' on it .
Which desk is that? I really like it.
Those BeQuiet! Coolers are damn sexy.
One of the cleanest looking builds I've seen. Props bro.
What's your footspace like? It looks limited.
What are those metal plates on the motherboard. They are cool as hell.
What kind of GPU is that?
Sick (re)build! I love the black colors. Do you know anywhere I can pick up a Gainward in the US? I had to settle with EVGA like some kind of peasant with my 680s :(
Im based in the UK but I'll trade you my 570 for a 680 any day :p
I have been thinking about getting a Gainward, are they generally good?
The best advice you'll probably get from a review site like Toms hardware but my gainward has been great and they seem to make some pretty good stuff using the reference nvidia boards
I have a gtx 680 phantom and that thing is silent as hell. (if there is like a really silent hell you know?)
You might want to take a look at their phantom series GPUs
Ida had fun with that. Duel boot ubuntu and windows. I have no use for wine
