Computer Setup

Comments

One day, I'll have a big boy gaming setup just like them..
I'm slowly building mine.
They all make me ashamed of my own gaming setup.
It's alright, a decent camera makes a lot of computer setups look better then they appear.
This sub is 50% photography skills, 30% content, 20% clean up.
And 100% reason to remember the name!
Yep. Mine is a laptop on a kitchen counter.
I was just about to ask about your one! I think we have the same laptop. :P
Indeed it is. Does your mouse suck too?
No.. It's actually one of the best trackpads I've ever had on a laptop. I love the space, I love the smooth scrolling, I love the 3 finger gestures, I love it in general. What's wrong with yours?
Well, Most commonly if the machine has been on a while or few a sleep cycles the mouse is crazy erratic. It goes all over the place and can barley use it. Happens in both linux and Windows. From what I have seen on the ASUS forums its a problem with how the trackpad was glued in or the cable below it glued to it causes the issue. There are lots of reports of it and pretty much if you have it your SOL as there is no 100% fix. (This was months ago I researched it so there may be a fix now, not sure. I use an external when it really matters.)
Huh. That's weird. Thanks for the warning, anyway!
This has proven just how much the quality of your photography matters. Some of the stations would be unremarkable if a photo was taken at a bad angle from an iPhone, but a well photographed mediocre station can look fantastic.
+1 on this. I made my first post in Gaming setups a little while ago using a camera phone. It looked nice cause the station is nice but the phone camera was meh. Every single one of these stations looks better than my album did.
Eames lounge chair in the first picture
Was browsing for some cheaper alternatives to the official one....
Yeah about 5000$ for a new one :p
Thanks! I was wondering that. My grandfather had one that looks identical, though it's probably several decades old.
He commented in the thread that it was a knockoff, from a Chinese furniture store in Toronto. Otherwise, it would indeed be the most expensive item in the picture.
I just managed to get my hands on one by borrowing it from my parents, who inherited it from theirs. Had no idea it was this expensive. Mind blown.
Original link to #21 PLZ????
Hey, you should have saved allot of people the bs and put computer setup pictures first then all the other stuff in the end.
I'm going to need a source for those wallpapers.
How can I bulk save all these images on my PC ? Can't rely on bookmarking the link.
Thanks to you and the people who have developed the app, very handy.
Alternatively, just click the "Download" link directly on the coolcomputersetups page. That'll put the entire album into a zip file for you.
Ah yeah. Something's amiss. Well, normally you can do that...
You will get three emails about a day later. It takes coolcomputersetups a while to email you the larger sets.
Do you have the original submission for #11? Looking for more info.
The first few are from the winners .. but after that I just sorted it by year and went down the list from the most bookmarkd to the least. So it should have a lot of bookmarks.
Big thanks! Karmadecay and reverse google image were giving me nothing.
I would love a link to the original post for #16 if you have it, otherwise nice selection.
As much time as I send lucking around here this is one I'm surprised I missed.
I missed this one as well.
I didn't even realize. There should be a giant notification saying "HERE IS YOU CHANCE FOR FRONT PAGE!"
Sad I didn't make the list
Haha i had a major headache once I got to posts around the 250 bookmark mark. I think I stopped around there.
I don't blame you! That's a lot of setups to sift through. You picked some awesome ones for sure.
Just added a bunch more
This may come off as a mean comment, but other than a three monitor setup and probably a decent desktop build I didn't see much that would make yours one of the top gaming setups?
Seriously? You too? Listen, other than debezelling my monitors, I agree that there isn't much that sets my setup apart from other multi-mon setups but for the love of God, please do not try and give me recommendations without reading my thread. Did you even read it? I posted in the thread countless times that my speakers are connected in surround. I have two other speakers behind the camera. I got so much shit in that thread because people just jump to conclusions and everyone is quick to judge. I feel like the only way you people will believe me is if I take a video and follow every damn wire from the speaker to the amp on the back of the sub. It's surround.
Haha, whoa DJS! I was just stating why I felt you didn't fall into the top group. No, I didn't read your whole thread. I did however read the top ~10 or so rated root comments and looked at your picture myself.
To be honest, my setup is definitely not worthy of being in this top group. I knew it wouldn't make the list. I've always kind of been more of a practicality kind of guy over aesthetics because I know nothing is permanent. My cable management is terrible and there is a layer of dust covering the bases of my monitors. I currently live in an apartment which is also temporary so maybe that'll all change when I move into a house. For what it is, I was thrilled with the positive response that I did get from my setup. I'm not proud about the looks, but I am proud about the specs of my new build. Also, I didn't mean to lash out at you. I'm just passionate about my rig is all.
No worries man, that's why I complimented you on your eye-finity (I'm jealous) and assumed you had a decent desktop build from looking at the case! But I'm the same way, I'm in an apartment as well so anything permanent like wall mounts or lights I want to avoid.
Wall mounts are awesome and I would love to incorporate those some day. I'll have a house and much nicer monitors when that happens though. Only one more monitor for you and you'll have a triple screen setup yourself. You outta check out mechanical keyboards if you're looking to upgrade. Some of them are even backlit. Also, that case you see in my pic is from my old build. I have replaced basically everything since then and it's now a gaming beast. Good luck in your build.
I have a ducky shining and I love it - would recommend.
Definitely was looking at those. Ducky Shine 2 + Cherry Blue MX + White LED's with the numpad. Looks like a really nice setup!
I can't believe you use that kind of springy door stop, I mean c'mon. Everyone knows you should use the ones that fasten to your door hinge.
I love this. Upvotes to you friend.
I should get a second monitor...
I only have one as well haha. 2 27'' @ 1440p would be nice.
I wish people would post what they did for a living along with their gaming setups. I'm always curious as to what the obviously non-gaming stations are specifically used for.
They do in their threads usually.
Well since we're asking, do you have the original submission for 36?
Wait, won't you already...have it? I mean, you are coolcomputersetups after all.
Yes, but because I am all of coolcomputersetups. That would mean I need to use my terrible search feature to find it.
Yeah I'm looking for the source of that one too. Anyone have it?
Could you send me OP of #14?
Do you have the OP links lying around, or did you just save the images?
Just saved the images. I tried to choose the best image if it was a whole album set. I guess I should of saved links but forgot lol.
Request links to original threads.
If someone links all the gaming setups threads on the album i will dust your cpu for a lifetime.
Woooo! I made the list :)
Post your build link + number :P
Edited to add build number and gallery link
There are so many awesome mechanical keyboards and headphones that make me so proud.
Mine's number 61! Thank you for including me in the list. Proud to be up there along side some of the best in the business. I've got so many great ideas for my own gaming setup from this subredit. Thanks again for the post.
First couple were amazing then the rest got sort of iffy (but mostly all good)
Well yeah I tried to include those as well. Give me some examples though :P
No project m8 no care
What the fucking shit is going on with those speakers dude.
Wow, there are a lot of black widows.
I was pleasantly surprised to find myself on the list. It's probably because of the Daft punk wallpaper.
Hey man it's a small desk but it works. Plus it's clean. Plus gotta love some ducky shine.
Such an amassment of clean appealing spaces. Makes me want to clean my whole damn room....then post pics!
I'm sad that mine is not in the list :(
True. I didn't really have a chance. But once I get a job and settle you will see me again with REVENGE.
Need For Internet: Underground 2
I must say this is one of my favorites I've ever seen. It's exactly what I'd love to do in a dedicated room for media. Just a clean and simple set up of screen, components and sound.
Stocking up on the ol' envy.
I am so jealous...I look at my station and I want to make improvements as soon as I look at each photo.
Is 38 actually a boat or a sim?!
I'm still trying to figure that out!
These are all pretty awesome.
No fair! #38 is literally a gaming setup.
They're all really nice, apart from the minority that decided to gather all 3 laptops & smartphones from their house and put it on the desk too.
"Beautiful... unethical... dangerous. You've turned every cellphone in Gotham into a microphone."
I'm seeing lots of people using TVs as monitors. Isn't that an incredibly bad idea? am I missing something?
I never get anything nice.
Hope I can make the cut next year.
The $20 IKEA coffee table in the second photo cracks me up considering how much all of the equipment in that room must have cost.
And I thought my BS was good.....
I couldn't find the thread for picture 29, any help please?
Some of you obviously fight crime with those setups.
This just makes me extremely depressed :[.
That's a ducky shine II, but kind of mouse and pad is that?
Nice collection - thanks for sharing
I am a little sad and surprised I didn't make the list ( i know, i sound like a brat), but my gaming setup post for some reason didn't get many bookmarks or downvotes, maybe thats why?
Hey feel free to post it and i can decide to add it or not. I only got down to around the 250 bookmark mark so that might be why. I might look at the rest today.
The first one. So many times. It get's the people going!
"Steam Sales make me go broke." Bullshit....Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, BULLSHIT. Sorry, I'm just very jealous.
Anyone got the wallpaper for #6? I think the same wallpaper is #41 as well.
Haha it wasn't a contest. I can keep adding more. I just figured it belonged to the mac coolcomputersetups.
This is some great inspiration for my next setup.
Exactly why I made this :D
Mine is 28th! Thanks man!
Np :) that cableporn ftw. I had to include the picture from the back lol
So by the end of today I'll try going through the rest and add some more.
Will include in the next batch :) I already got 50+ more downloaded.
I don't care how nice your gaming setup looks. Nothing beats my laptop and bed. Bitches.
I really respect the single minitor gaming setups.
Number 37. What you did there. I see it.
What did he do!? A battleship? It boggles the mind...
Disappointed I didn't see mine on here, I've already improved things quite a bit since posting! New Filco, more gear in the rack, some more art :)
I like it. I just felt like there's a bunch of loose cables you can see in the photo and some junk on the left lol. Try taking a picture maybe from higher so you don't see all the cables.
The first one looked comfortable as fuck.
I know this is late, but can anyone point me towards #11? I really like the 5 portrait setup and want to ask them a few questions.
If a mod could edit title to just "favorites of 2012" that'd be great. Just added a bunch more.
I am confused, aren't you the OP?
Oops haha. I meant a mod
I was in top 5 gaming setups of 2012 and didn't find mine. Ah well.
Just added it. there's just so many _^
Not to be "that guy" but most of those gaming setups have computer cases sitting on the floor. That's not good, and my gaming setup is a more practical and usable set up.
Nice. I kind of assumed it was something like that. I'm going to be moving soon, and I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth getting a desk big enough for Maschine compared to a snare stand that I can shove in the corner when I'm not using it.
It's really interesting that literally every single station/desk butts up against a wall. There are no free-floating desks with returns. Does no one have a desk with monitors that don't go up against a wall?
Would you happen to have the link to number 51?
First picture, with the six monitors, link to the original post? prease
I dream of a mighty computer setupg, one day I will reveal it, when I build it that is!
Wow! I've been working on gaming setup improvements since March of 2012 when I moved and built my new rig. This collection will provide a lot of inspiration and techniques I may adopt. Hopefully my station will make best of 2013! Thanks for sharing your favorites. Back to planning my attack! :)
Which monitors are being used in image 3 of that album?
Want... My only word for these gaming setups!
Link to number 6's background?
Need the LED tv in number 6. I'm pretty sure its a sony?
Looks really aesthetic. Image quality looks fantastic as well.
Aw, come on. Don't you like my submission?
Simplicity is an art. Learn it.
Yeah the ones that stood out to me are ones that are simple, clean, and well different. There was a bunch with 6+ LCDS on a small cluttered desk that just didn't look visually appealing. I'm willing to add more if any decides to post some.
Do you have the original post for image 41? Thanks.
Ok. In defense of my gaming setup, I believe I did pretty well in placing all of my PC and gaming gear onto a small desk. Especially since there's not much room inside of a Korean apartment.
Where did you get those display racks that house the xbox!
Thanks for including mine :-)
Should post your thread ;) and number.
Yay, I made it on the list! I feel honored.
Should post your thread ;) and number.
FALSE - Only 64 photos.
False. links where 0-64
Just looked a bit cluttered man :D
