Computer Setup

WOAH! Nice! You have an apartment I wish I could have!
Thanks! Its basically my dream apartment.
I love little apartments, care to share anything? Where you live, how big, how many rooms, ect.
Hey, Downtown Seattle. I think its 700-800 sqft. It's on open one bedroom (there's a bedroom area, not doors to it though). The building has 30-some floors.
How much is your rent?
Rent? With the little guy/girl? 2 grandish? Friggin awesome man.
I saw the picture of the skyline and immediately recognized it as Seattle. I used to live in a condo by the convention center right off of Hubbell Place. I loved that building with the blue glass on the top. At night it typically has a really awesome light show. This makes me miss Seattle so much! How's the weather currently?
Olive 8 is amazing. The weather sucks, I heard the sun was out earlier, but I was at work not paying attention to the outside.
I fell for Shiba's as a kid. I was finally able to get my little guy this year. They are so cute!
Me too, I've been thinking to get one too but do they like living in a warm area like central Europe?
Mine doesn't care for the snow much if that's any consolation!
Hmm, I'm not too sure. There's usually fanatic breeders that can offer some good advise.
M\f? which is best for shibas?
I swear to god that dog is photo shopped.
I thought it was a rendering.
Very pretty dog u have there
Thanks! He loves the attention.
I was looking at these photos thinking "Jesus christ that dog is posing for these, what an attention hog" :)
He's doing pretty good. For his first six months I would come home at lunch and take him out. I eventually weened him off of that. I had security cams that I watched him on while I as at work and he just slept the whole time.
I got my dog through a rescue. She's a beagle, but she's a lazy couch potato beagle who was 5 years old when I got her, so she's a perfect apartment dog.
I live in Austin in a 1 bedroom downtown (actually off Riverside and Soco). It's expensive as fuck (around $1500 for a 1BR in my area) and only 600 sq ft but you can definitely have a dog. Both of my neighboring complexes have built in dog parks and I am walking distance to 3 public ones. You just have to live in the right area or be willing to drive.
Definitely depends on the dog. There's a ton of dog parks in Austin though. And a ton of people who will walk your dog during the day for you.
No way! You mean they don't walk stranger's dogs out of the goodness of their hearts?
Austin is the most dog-friendly place in the US. Most places won't let you rent if you have a pit mix or any other aggressive breed, but you can take your dog with you almost anywhere. Nothing like taking my boys to Auditorium Shores and then walking up the South Congress for a beer with them.
You don't have the dog. He has you. My shiba runs the house, and she knows it.
Love shibas. Tough to become the pack leader but very smart dogs. Ours listens most of the time but she definitely doesn't see anybody but the head of the house hold as the boss. I like to think of them as '... yea, I see what you want from me, but what's in it for me?' dogs.
I thought the dog was photoshopped at first.
Not gonna lie, probably one of my favourite stations that I've ever seen. I like how you don't conform to the "SCREENS FUCK YEAH" thing that this sub seems to have a lot of. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I used to think a lot of monitors was cool, but I am an efficiency person. Having a single monitor makes me more focused and more efficient.
Simple and beautiful. This is probably one of my favorite gaming setups yet. I used to live down in Pioneer Square and miss those views immensely. I hope to get back there soon. +1 for the great minimalistic desktop and apartment.
Multiple screens is useful for people who do a lot of music or video editing, and people who write computer software... So about 1% of the kids in this sub.
I hear the 2013 release will be thinner!
I hope they nerf poop and piss, they're way too OP.
What is the thing by your feet?
What sort of footrest is that? Does it help?
Unless I missed it, Can I get the model of that desk?
Sick setup bro. What do you do for a living?
Thanks! Computer stuff (currently a Systems Engineer).
This gives me hope that maybe one day I can have a sick view like that. Nice man! And love the cleanliness.
Thanks! I love having a nice view. I came from a low income background, but loved and excelled in computers. Just find something you like to do, work hard at it, and go for it :)
This is the dream, thanks for the inspiration :)
Can you manage to keep it that clean? I sure couldn't
Usually I have a pad of paper and a drink, but still mostly clean(ish).
Is that a set of wings on the windowsill plaque?
So which do you drive?
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer! :D Those are there for the motivation (I love cars).
Well I guess now I don't have to kill you and wear your skin like a mask. EVO/Ralliart or base model? I love cars too, just don't have the money to do to cars what I do to pcs.
Haha. It's the regular GTS -- the stock version of the car. I was thinking about an Evo or an M3, but I like not having a car payment.
How do you like the Embody versus say the Aeron? I'm looking at saving up for a really nice HM chair (to replace this crap $40 IKEA chair) and (AFAIK) there aren't any places to try them out. I've sat in Aeron's but never an Embody.
I ditched my chair at work about a month ago and have been using a standing configuration every since so I'm well versed in trying to avoid back/neck issues. A co-worker has the Aeron and I like it more than any chair I've tried, but my extent of "nice chair trying" is pretty limited.
I had an Aeron, got rid of it... after seeing a few Embody's in this sub I want to sit on one. Which blue fabric is that?
I have an Aeron at work. It was OK for the first few months, but it didn't feel like I was sitting in a $700 chair versus a $100 office depot chair. Like OP, I also started to have back issues and thought it might be the chair. Since then I've converted my work desk into a stand up. My back feels a tiny bit better, but now my hips are starting to get tired (I tend to favor my weight on one side, then the other). I'm interested in the Embody chair ... maybe there's a Herman Miller outpost near me somewhere.
I too favor one side when standing - so we have the identical problem. I would have no problem standing while gaming either but I'm not sure I can stand for 16 hours a day!
On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog, unless you post photos.
So clean, I love it, Even your dog fits in! Do you have a dedicated HTPC?
Thank you! No HTPC for me. I usually don't watch the same movie/show twice (I have Blu Rays for those exceptions) so it's never really appealed to me.
I'm really just here for the Shiba.
So... you're a dog ?
When ever i see gorgeous battle-stations and apartments like this i find it so hard to control the green dragon within.
Love the set-up! Wish i could afford one of those chairs
Rent, it's a pretty amazing building.
Nice. mind saying what you pay?
I pay about $1600/month in Downtown Seattle (open 1 bedroom, ~700sqft). It seems crazy, but I finally decided to spend that little bit extra on a super nice place.
That's actually not that bad. at least, the amount is low, but yeah the space you're getting is smaller than i'm used to for that price point. still, better than manhattan!
Yeah. The biggest thing is that the quality difference between this apartment and a $1300/month apartment (the going rate for something decent) is huge! Definitely worth the extra money (as long as I can afford it).
How is the dog working out in a high rise? Wife a d I want to do it, but I think my dog would hate it
Do you mind sharing what you do for a living? It can be a broad answer if you want.
That is expensive but it truly isn't over the top at least in my view, i'm in Miami and the price of housing here is exuberant anyways. I'm just 18 at the moment but when I'm able to get a decent job and move out on my own I hope to have something like this. You have a beautiful set up, great job!
How did you get them images on the screens so crisp for the picture? It almost looks too good haha. I can never get that in any pictures.
The TV was really expensive :)
Wow. Looks fantastic. And that dog is beautiful. Liking "The Dark Knight Rises" on the TV too! ;)
The chair alone is 1200 bucks.
...Aspira? Great looking place!
YEP! I love the place!
Damn that tv looks amazing
Uh... am I the only one that noticed his chair is $1,400?
That dog doesn't look real, but I can't tell whether or not it is rendered :
What breed is he? My friend has a mutt that looks a lot like him but black and we haven't been able to nail down lineage
Have you considered training it to model? It's got a very pretty face and perfect proportions for ads and shit
Lovely! But what's the deal with the CGI dog?
Yep! Shiba Inus are always composed and regal.
Holy Crap, This is amazing. Ikea / furniture companies should pay you big money to use these pictures in their magazines!
What are you using underneath for cable management?
Picture 1: You're a wizard! Where are the wires?
You must have a big cupboard to hide all of your things.
The closet is quite packed, but I also like to have minimal things. I've changed to a quality over quantity mindset.
Very impressive set up! One thing that jumped in my head immediately though, how do you take your dog out? Do you both wait on an elevator, then take him out or are there like... areas inside to do it?
Awesome place. Do you work from home? If the rest of your place is similar to your workstation, you should make a post about it in r/malelivingspace
Oh god I just spent far too long looking at pictures of your dog and cars.
Holy shit, that apartment is baller
What sort of tv is that?
Samsung UN60ES7100FXZA -- just got it last week, freaking amazing!
What robot did you murder to make that chair?
That is a boss chair.
Hi, what kind of chair is that?
My heart bursted out my chest after googling that...
Yea, it was crazy expensive.
Is it too invasive to ask what you do for a living? Because I am quite curious.
I do computer stuff, currently a Systems Engineer.
Wow, what a truly beautiful set-up. I think the living room walls are a little blank to me, but otherwise it's perfect! Cute Shiba too. :)
There's a bit of fluff under your desk.
This my friend, is the dream. Clean, simply, good view & nice tech. One of my favourite computer setups.
Can I have your life please? You can have mine in return!
Where did you get that desk?! I like it!
Is that a foot rest or a foot peripheral under your desk?
Love this much more than 18 monitors and dark caves.
Look amazing! Can you tell me what model/make the TV is? Also, where did you get the cabinet/tv stand thing? That goes really well with the TV.
I was about to ask you where you live, but then I spotted the Westin hotel towers that I've stayed in. I am jealous.
I feel that these can be cross posted to any number of dog coolcomputersetupss, and would do just as well there as here.
Looks awesome but still kinda steril and clinical, maybe add a plant and some fancy decoration stuff for the wall. Modern art would go well with your style I guess
Goddamn that's nice. What city?
Nice hide you got there.
How is the build quality of the table? I am looking at getting an Ikea desk/table, but I have heard of some reports of them bending in the middle, and in some cases even breaking completely in half. Do you feel like you can put a good amount of weight on there?
Beautiful apartment I'm so jealous! And great movie choice-TDKR!
That's a nice pla-haha fuck you.
Honestly i usually cringe at macs, but that is a very nice looking gaming setup, love it. And That Dog.
I need to throw everything away.
What are those Aston Martin and Maserati things on your window sill?!??!
I knew that GreyHound station as soon as i saw it. I worked at Gethsemane Church for about 2 months when they did the renovation so I know that area well. I wish I live as close to a Taco Del Mar as you do!
That chair man, where did you get it from.
Why doesn't this look real?
Setup looks great! Thx for sharing the details
Your apartment is so fucking clean i want
I love your setup. Nice P5's
Fuck this dog is majestic!
What are the specs on that dog?
You're living the life, dude.
This station proves how pretty Macs are.
Look out man I think there is a dog in you place.
He keeps sneaking in here!
Kobe is an incredibly Beautiful Dog.
I like your dog, your desk chair, your apartment, and your monitor .... the rest of your setup leaves a lot to be desired however the basics are there...
Does someone know what chair is this exactly? Thanks!
Yep, you live in the same building as my dad....
Your beautiful floor is going to get dirty, dirty. You should totally get a chair mat dirty.
Bet you took those pictures when you just moved in!
Whats the name of the couch? Nice BS!
Upvoted for the bear rug
Very nice set up, I love the dog and that CHAIR.. dear lord that CHAIR is amazing. I am so jealous of your lumbar support.
That is a spectacle. Wow, great job!
Can anybody tell me what type of dog that is?
What kind of table is that?
Something something, coolcomputersetups switcharoo with the dog.
I've got the same television as you!
Awesome place man! What wallpaper is that on the monitor connected to the MacBook? It looks like the normal mountain lion wallpaper but it is much more blue? I keep seeing it on YouTube etc but can't find the picture itself anywhere..
My ideal place. Simple and modern.
