Try clocking your RAM higher. Even just pushing it to 1600 (moving each 686mhz channel to 800) would give sizeable performance gains. Don't worry about anything over that.
Hey bro I noticed you have the M-audio AV40 speaker/monitors. These speakers are quite picky in their positioning and the tweeters should be raised to ear level to get the best result, though I am not sure how you will accommodate that considering there's not much space left on your desk. Anyway nice setup!
Yeah, I've definitely found that they have a narrow sweet spot. They sound quite muddy where they are, as they're backed right up against a wall and they aren't at the proper height, but they only get used when I'm doing editing (no audio work of course) or i'm watching videos on my computer and don't want to use headphones. I only really set them up because I had them kicking around.
Are those headphones from akg? Also your setup looks awesome.
Yeah, they're the AKG 240 Mk II's.
A cheap thing to do. Add LED's to back light. You can buy a 5M strip for about $25. They look amazing and its cheap and easy. I can link some to you if you'd like.
Nice setup! The PC setup looks nice! I have the same mount.
Thanks! Its funny that you should say that the TV looks small for the room. The room is only 10'x13' and the PC area is back to back with the TV area; I can just barely back my chair out enough to get in without hitting the couch. The TV is 52" and I'm sitting less than 6' away.
Wow, must be the way I was looking at it :)
I would switch the position of the speakers and shelves so that the speakers are against the wall and the shelves are next to the TV stand. It'll help create a better left/right effect when watching movies etc.
Yeah, I thought about switched the speakers and the shelves, but I'm sitting so close to the TV (roughly 6 feet) that the stereo image seemed too wide.
Your sub shouldn't be pushing frequencies that high, especially with the tower speakers you have. You'll be more than fine with having it 120-160Hz or lower and having your floor-standing woofers get the rest. Assuming you have your high and low pass filters set accordingly.
I didn't mean those frequencies were coming directly from the subwoofer, but rather resonating harmonics brought out by the corner of the room. My crossover is around 120 hz, but a small room with concrete walls really makes the low-mid harmonic frequencies from the sub much more pronounced when aimed into the wall.
You can overclock your cpu if you wanted to, if i am not mistaken.
This is just my unprofessional opinion, but I think the coffee table in the home theater needs to go. It looks like it's awfully cramped up and gets in the way of the dvd player or stereo or whatever that is under the TV. Also, if possible, I'd move the center speaker away from the front of the tv, just to make it look cleaner. Just my thoughts. That's what I would do if I had your setup. Other than that, your gaming setup is incredible and I'm quite jealous.
What do you have running that shows the time, calendar, etc on the far right monitor?
