We all make mistakes ▲▲▲, But now my comment makes no sense, so...

He built it so he doesn't sit in a chair all day; he enjoys standing up while working. The cubes we have are more like long tables so there's no way for it to be raised. I thought it was a pretty cool ikea hack.
