Computer Setup

How did you self fund this build...at 13? The most I could buy at thirteen was a candy bar and I thought THAT was expensive
Mowing lawns, babysitting, IT support to neighbors.
Took a lot of hard work and time. I think it was worth it though :)
Nice to see a younger guy on here that's not a spoiled brat, and actually worked for his gaming setup. Nice work, dude. Keep it up. :)
Good on you man! I'm 21 now but when I was around 13-14 I got to buy my first own gaming PC that I saved up for years and nothing could beat that feeling.
When I was your age I was walking uphill in the snow both ways to the coal mine in the middle if July in Alabama.
I did basically the same thing. How many lawns did you mow? (I'm 15)
Well I mow on the weekends, and did maybe 3 a day so 6 a week, times 52, times however many years I did it.
I mow every week twice, once here at my house, once at my grandmas house. Each time, since they are pretty huge lawns, I get $20 for doing both backyard and the front yard, so twice a week for $40, times 52, equals $2,080. That, times 5 since I've been doing that since I was 10, is equal to $10,400. Minus the times I didn't do it because of vacation or sick days, and I'd end up roughly at about $7,500. So, about $7,500 minus the cost of my station, roughly equals $5,000. I bought my own furniture and most of the electronics such as my Xbox, speakers, and computer. That pretty much explains why I have exactly $2,158 in savings.
Haha no problem. I only spent around $2,500 for everything in my station, including the computer.
I'm just awestruck that I had that much money.
Oh, and almost forgot because I am so surprised, nice station.
I had a 12" 800x600 crt 60hz monitor with 13 (after year 2000) xD
Left one is 60, right one is 75.
Can't figure out if trying to be funny, or just a giant asshole.
Props to you for getting a decent computer setup by 13!
I lol'd at "Cable Management"
What do you need the transformer for? Monitors usually are 120-220 and it's not hard to find a power supply for the desktop that accepts that.
Speakers are actually European, so no need for transformer. The transformer is for the guitar amp.
What 7870 is that? It looks huge!
Why don't you buy a monitor? It seems that if you can afford that pc and that mouse and keyboard, you ought to be able to afford a 16:9 monitor. I think it's definitely worth the investment.
Not really imo. ive used 4:3 16:9 16:10. It just takes some time getting used to, they all have advantages. Well except maybe 16:9. 16:10 does everything better, but the difference is negligable anyways. After a few days you wont miss what you had. At least thats how it is for me.
Are you the guy with the waifu? No shit, you guys have the same headphones. And glasses.
Pretty sweet set up you have there. Well done.
Really awesome gaming setup man. I'm going to build my first gaming setup some time this month. I've been saving up for a really long time. I was just wondering, how much did your desktop cost?
What does the gaming glasses do?
They basically let me game all day without my eyes hurting.
Do they work well? I've always considered a pair but never tried them.
If you can get them for less than $30, I would say go for it. They definitely aren't worth their MSRP of $80 though.
Does the yellow tint bother you at all? I feel like it might make games look...gross.
After 20 minutes everything looks normal.
