Computer Setup

Love it. Big TF2 player myself.
Dang, I need a fiancee like this.
I like your MC poster. Where did you get that?
Thanks, I love it - really relaxing to look at. My fiancée brought it for me off ebay some time ago, have a look around. It comes in 8 separate A3 sized prints, so we bought some large foam board and mounted them on all together as one.
You do have a point. We only bought it as we wouldn't be able to print it that large. But it does appear that they take artwork from various places, that could be why it isn't around on ebay anymore.
I looked around, I can't find that poster anywhere. I like it a lot also.
That's a shame :( It was last year when she bought it, so can't remember the seller. There do seem to be some similar ones around, but not that one. I'll post it if I can find it for you.
Where can you get the tf2 key?
Yeah, I used to use it some years ago, it is awesome. But I was worried that it was slowing down my PC and decided to get rid of it.
Oh, erm, I was talking about DJCamx90, but thanks anyway.
I got the wallpaper from one of the EQD Wallpaper comps not sure which one. sry :c
Ah alright. I'll find it one way or another.
Sorry i couldn't help D;
Thanks - It does look good. Which application do the music controls link to? I mostly use Spotify nowadays so I don't know if I can link it to that.
I use iTunes but it works with Windows media player and some others i need to check again. but it should me enigma music widget that you DL from the main site
Thanks, I'll check it out!
You could probably just google "Rainmeter Spotify" and get a few things off deviantart or something. I think I did this a while back, and found some good stuff.
I managed to get it to work with the media controls within the Enigma skin, the options allow you to choose Spotify as a player. Works nicely. Thanks for the help.
I've added Rainmeter, looks really smart - thanks!
Curious about your mat. Where could I find one like that or similar?
Do you know if they ship to the US?
Nice case. I haven't seen one of those in years. I used that case for my pentium D and core 2 quad build 3 years ago.
Cool, I've got the exact same case!
Which case is that? Never seen one of those before. Looks pretty sick.
Your financee needs an upgrade! I'd cringe if I had to use that monitor. On a side note, where do you guys find fiancee's like this?
The monitor isn't that bad actually, and she does like it. It wouldn't be my choice though, will have to see. And her computer is pretty good spec though, same specs as mine but she has an Nvidia 8800 GT instead.
Love that Pirate Fortress wallpaper, haha!
What's the maker and model of your Keyboard? I really like the colors and if this would be available in red it's going to be bought :D Nice Set-Up btw!
Thanks! It's a Qpad MK-85 keyboard with Cherry MX blue switches (I love the clicky sound and feel). I bought it from Overclockers (UK), but it appears they only have the red switch versions available now, but you should be able to find it around as you should be able to get it with all switch types.
Did you get those key caps separately or were they part of keyboard, if separately do you remember where you got em from?
You sir are awesome! I just recently built a new Gaming rig and the Keyboard I got at the moment (Steelseries Zboard) needs to be replaced.
Aha, it's not a problem. Have fun with it, I found myself keep typing nonsense just so I could hear the clicky keys!! ;)
Just a quick question; what's the biggest difference comming from a non-mechanical keyboard? Are the keys 'hard' to push or is it going really easy?
You shouldn't have a problem with it. I had quite light low profile keys on my last keyboard, and with the blue cherry switches, it was also very light to type on. It can feel a bit strange at first, but you start to really love it. I can find myself being able to type much faster and more efficiently on it.
Nothing too fancy, has a good graphics card but the CPU/RAM holds it back a bit.
It's been good, it's a nice card. I had an 8800 GTS 640mb before it which was a nice card too, only upgraded as my last one died on me and wanted something that would last me a while.
What case do you have?
Pretty much same specs as my baby! Only game that's given it trouble in the last while is DOTA 2, but everything else I can have no complaints with!
Nice build! Enjoy!
Well done, this has a very clean look overall.
I love this computer setup. The mechanical keyboard is really enviable, I've always wanted one.
Just wanted to second the claims on this heatsink/fan. I used it for a good while, and it was amazing. Especially with the right thermal compound.
Arctic silver 5 is on mine
Yeah, I was thinking of getting one. But part of me wants to upgrade my CPU (and mobo) but can't afford to any time soon.
If its a sandy bridge or ivy bridge don't bother upgrading
Well its still not that bad
Do they make mechanical keyboards that have the keys closer together? My brother has one and I hate it. Can never get the keys right. I prefer my wireless logitech MK520.
I had a keyboard before that had keys very close together, and I wouldn't say I found any problems using this one. They keys are still pretty close, there isn't really much of a gap between them. It just takes some time getting used to I suppose.
Ya I guess it would be a learning curve. What are the benefits to using mechanical keyboards anyways? Is it better to have a longer keystroke?
I bought it mostly as I love the old fashioned clicky feel and sound, but I have found that I can type much faster on it than my last keyboard. With blue switches, you only have to press the keys down a slight bit for them to actuate, so you can type fast and lightly. Different switch types feel different, I don't use mine too much for gaming as I have a CyberSnipa for FPS games.
A cyber keyboard or game pad?
This is what i needed! This would be perfect for me. Im picking one up today, thanks!
What keyboard is that and what map is that under it?
As said below, it's a Qpad MK-85 keyboard with Cherry MX blue switches.
Is that Grip tape on your Esc key? I like love your keyboard Is it mechanical?
It's a custom TF2 keycap that I bought. And yeah, it's a Qpad MK-85 with Cherry MX blue switches.
What model gaming pad is that?
Yea I really like how that looks, think i might have to look into getting one. Thanks!
I can already imagine that computer falling off the desk...
What monitor is that on the left? I like the look of it.
It's a LG Flatron E2251 - it's a nice monitor, LED, full HD and good response time.
So you get a buffed up rig with 2 monitors, and your GF sits there with a 4:3 monitor?
Aha, she actually prefers 4:3 than widescreen so I don't feel quite as bad ;) She is quite happy with the just the one too.
