Computer Setup

People that own iPhones make sure everyone knows they own an iPhone.
And people with Android-phones always makes sure to tell you how much their phone is better than your iPhone.
So I got this HTC One, the screen is bigger then the whole iPhone 5. Twice as fast hardware all around. WAY better then an iPhone.
I have the HTC One too. Awesome phone, but I hate that Im in a "group" now. A group with people who isn't cosidered brainwashed because their choice of smartphone. The android-fanboys are the most vocal fanboys on the internet and everyone with a android-phone is better than everyone else. Back in 2007 and the PC vs Mac ads, the people who had Apple products was better than anyone else. But these android-fanboys are going to be like this forever.
I admit- I used to be a bit like that. Now though most of the time I just say "My phone suits me, your phone suits you. Everyone's happy."
The brainwashing in this one is strong. Macbook pro check, iPhone 5 check,up to date PC check, running Apple OS on the PC check! And Apple keyboard to boot.
...That's confirmation bias (I think that's the one).
Thaaaat's pretty much what I was getting at, but I felt like adding "Mac user detected" would come off as a little more hostile than I wanted to be.
I think I'm more impressed with the dyson fan than anything.
Fucking $300 it better keep his ass cool.
Yeah, I went to go get one of those things without knowing how much they cost... it was a shock, let me tell you
Very clean, but you need new speakers, a new keyboard, and a new mouse.
This. If you can afford a Dyson, MacBook, and an Ultrasharp, why not a mechanical keyboard and decent mouse?
Even though I agree, not everyone likes the feel of mech keyboards.
I have yet to meet someone who prefers rubber domes to mechs, but I can totally understand the price not being worth it to them.
There are so many options when it comes to mechanical keyboards that even if someone doesn't like one keyboard switch type they can easily try out another to see if that switch suits them better. I know that personally I really enjoy blues while reds not so much.
I enjoy reds, blues, and browns, just not blacks. I'd like to try a green or clear switch sometime, but I just ordered the Leopold FC660C, so it would be like downgrading.
The CM reps already did;
Hehe, I have the FC660C, too. It's not so much a downgrade as a sidegrade. Both switch types have their advantages.
I was just going to leave both that and my Filco w/ reds plugged in, using the FC660C for everything but gaming.
I do the same thing! Game on a Filco with browns, and when I need to type papers I turn to Topre.
You know that was never said to be going on sale, right? rajface said it would be rolled out in retail stores so people could test which switch they want before buying, nothing else.
I only tried brown. Au first I thought it was hard to type on but I gotten used to it.
I type quite a bit faster on a membrane keyboard compared to my mechanical keyboard, I think it has something to do with the keys being flush with the board, rather than being raised up.
Weird. My wpm is much higher on a mechanical (by about 20), but that's probably because I don't bottom out.
He doesn't need it if he likes what he has.
One of the prettier computer setups. Nice work!
What resolution is the 27''?
Taking a guess at 2560x1440.
Same here, is the resolution worth it?
If you count in the quality of the panel along with the resolution, I'd say it is worth it.
Definitely, if you don't have a problem with reading small text. I'd recommend the Monoprice 27" monitors over Dells though, since they use almost exactly the same display panels but cost about half as much.
Do you mind posting the wallpaper for your mac? edit: sick setup btw.
Well done, though I would agree about upgrading to a higher-end (mechanical) keyboard. Mouse, it's your call.
Depends on your hardware. Most hackintoshers specifically pick their mobo and graphics cards (NVidia cards usually) to be compatible with OS X.
I see. Off to research! Thanks for the info.
To be fair, you actually can boot OS X from a thumb drive. Check out the install guides on tonymacsx86. You would just need two thumb drives, one for the install and one for the actual os.
It's a nice gaming setup, certainly. Super is a bit hyperbolic though, you should check out some of the other insane builds in this coolcomputersetups.
Very slick, is that a custom build desk?
Thanks! Yes, it is a custom build desk,
I think the 21 inch would look great in portrait.
The 21 inch's stand wouldn't allow me to put it in portrait.
Wow, haven't seen those Dell speakers/sub for a very long time! I had those same ones 8 years ago.
Iphone.. hmm...macbook.. oh god no... when he said hackentosh.. the relief was great
I have a burning hatred for you right now (jelly as fuck) care to share what that desk is?
Haha. This is a custom build desk. That is why you see the matching cabinets on top.
Ahh nice and clean looking, nice work man
That is just, beautiful.
What kind of tower is that?? It's sexy!!!
Yes it is have one myself. Also seen a few others on here.
It's a Corsair Carbide 500R.
What camera did you use to take the pictures?
I used a Canon EOS 450D and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5.
27": Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM 21": Dell E2009W
My Super Gaming setup (I have more money than you)
Nice! All you need now is a nice chair!
If you don't mind me asking, why the padlock on the window?
In my country, robbers break into houses through windows. The padlock is a safety precaution.
Beautiful shelf and desk. I also like how you proudly displayed your copy of Office to show you didn't pirate your copy
What desk do you have?
It's a custom build desk.
Looks like IKEA took a shit in your room.
