I am a switch tech for a mobile phone company. The setup is four monitors one for each laptop and two for the desktop. Running a software KVM. Eleven phones and one USB modem for testing a collection of technologies from old to new and varying providers.
Turin Dac software
JDSU testing.
OH and an Ericsson switch
Oh no someone who knows the equipment. Hopefully they don't recognize my desk and know I'm on Coolcomputersetups at work.
Nope :) You are good. My market is in WI, plus I am GSM. I think you are CDMA from looking at the handsets.
No I am both GSM and CDMA. One of the monitors has our GSM monitoring software on it.
It works fine I didn't do anything to it except put a 32gig card in it. I use it mainly for reading comics during downtime.
I always think that "downtime" is such a inconvenient term when used in conjunction with IT and communications services. It could either mean you're not doing anything or you're having the busiest day ever...
Haha yeah but why not both. We call it an outage if it's downtime it's scheduled with no work for us. Either way though an outage is a lot of sitting and waiting. Why not get a little reading in?
Looks pretty cool. Can you explain more about what you do, what qualifications you need etc.?
I monitor the network and if there are any issues I try to figure out the cause and solution to maintain uptime for customers. Qualifications will depend on the switch but degrees and certifications never hurt.
Nice to see a fellow Elitebook owner. The build quality of those are just incredible.
I just decommissioned an EliteBook at work that had been added to inventory from an acquisition. They do seem built pretty solid, but unless they changed in the past couple of years, the size of the power brick for those is insane.
If you do not need the horse power from the quadro/firepro you could just use the 80w one. I bring the 80w in my backpack and leave the 120w at home.
And I am yet to own a cell phone.
I'll work on it just for you.
I'm not sure how to take this question. Am I doing something wrong? I am working. I am a switch tech for a mobile phone company. I am monitoring the mobile network as I make test calls on new and existing technology. As well as competitor's technology on our network.
