Computer Setup

Gotta work your cable management son.
Time to channel OP's obsession into a new one. Especially if you are going with a glass table.
3D Print some damn wire management!
What does a 3D printer cost the average man?
Looks awesome. May I ask what you use it for on a daily basis or for work?
How accurate is the solidoodle, it seemed too good to be true to me. Relative to the makerbot.
Markerbot is crap for the price.
According to the site it prints each layer at a height of .3mm or .1mm with high quality enabled. Also has an X - Y resolution of 0.011mm or 2300 dpi. I haven't had the chance to work with any 3D printers yet but I used to work in the printing industry and 2300 dpi is pretty damn good.
That's awesome and affordable! Thanks
For a second I thought wow that's really expensive. Then I look over at my wife's desk and there is a $1900ish camera body sitting on it.
Glass desks look nice, but I would be a lot more conscious about cable management.
One screen for every dimension!
That's what i am aiming for soon enough. What are the monitors by the way they look very nice? Also what is the 3d printer?
ASUS VN247 120hz thin bezzle and a solidoodle 3.
I dont think that its 120hz? > ASUS VN247
Nvm they are 1ms
Has awesome equipment but a 10 dollar keyboard...
I'm running a > $2000 computer and using a $12 logitech keyboard. Sometimes you just end up between gear.
The VN247s are nice, but the colours are terrible. See this video for comparison to an IPS screen
I might switch to some 1440p panels next year too. I have two other monitors one 1200p and one 1080p IPS 3d.
I bought 3 of these this past spring, they were horrid. all of them had 2+ dead pixels, color was shit, every other subjects that needed calibration were just as bad(sharpness/gamma/etc.), and to top it off it has that thin bezel yes - but there was another 1/2 of wasted screen between screen and frame so the marketing of it is misleading. Needless to say I returned them within a week and went back to a 2 monitor setup.
Not understanding where you're getting that the colors are terrible. They look more vibrant to me. This is only what you like. Glad you let someone know something they have is terrible.
Cheaper screens are almost always terrible in their color rendition. They mask this by boosting the things the layperson sees, the same way that cheap stereo manufactures mask their low quality by boosting what the lay person hears. In stereos what you get is what I like to call "Smiley EQ", boosted base, boosted treble, low mids. In screens what you get is boosted contrast and vibrancy. What you actually want in both is a nice even response all the way across the spectrum so that details can be seen or heard just as easily no matter where they are.
Some people may enjoy that bass boost or boosted treble. Regardless of what you may find to be bad, or not. Granted it may fall into your terms of "Smiley EQ" .... But some people enjoy those things. Why do you think Beats by Dre sale? Some people enjoy that bass boost. Just as some other may enjoy those vibrant colors.
The reason they are bad is not because I don't enjoy smiley eq or vibrant colors but because the poor quality systems are incapable of producing anything but.
I understand the background of sound quality. But what constitutes bad quality to you, is someone else's ear. Technically yes, it's bad. But just because technically it's bad, what one sees does not mean it looks bad to another.
Love the printer. What do you print with it? I've recently acquired access to some Type A machines, and trying to learn Autodesk Inventor, but I don't have very many ideas of things to design/print and I'm always curious what people are using these things for.
Do something about those cables!, besides that, pretty cool BS.
You know you don't need 3 monitors to print in 3 dimensions right? ok. just checking.
I have the same monitors! well only 2 of them
And here was me looking for the 1t and 2d printers.
Good things come in threes.
3D print some cable management contraption. Also print a triple monitor mount. :D
What's the first thing y'all would print if you had one of those?
I never understood it. Never! Neither did mom.
Nice! But please, spare us and get a not-so-shaky picture.
