If you dont mind explaining a bit, how do you have your BX5's hooked up.. I have the 8's, and their connected from a 3.5 to XLR cable, but there's some noise coming through that.. Looking to expand my horizons here, hah.
I would guess that they are hooked up to the Presonus Firestudio Project interface. You could probably find a decent usb DAC with TRS or XLR outputs for pretty cheap and get rid of the noise.
Right you are! They're connected with unbalanced 1/4", so I still had problems with interference.
Hello, 5's owner here. I use TRS to rca. It's hooked into a sound card that has rca input. No problems. Maybe the quality of the cable? Even though I haven't spent much on the cable, one of my old pair of cables had some noise.
I personally haven't tried new cables. I suspect that a balanced connection would do the most, but simply isolating the cable run has been sufficient in my case to eliminate noise.
Sorry for all the radial distortion; I only have a telephoto lens right now. Also, the scraps of paper are because I loathe blue LEDs, to the point of opening up that Razer Abyssus and removing the one inside.
Nice! what are the speaker stands? i have the same speakers.
To be honest, I don't remember; probably whatever was cheapest at Sweetwater in 2008. They aren't the most stable stands I've seen, but if you're just going to set them up and leave them alone they work very well.
Hey man, sweet setup. What sound card it that?
It's the Presonus Firestudio Project. I've owned the Firepod aka FP10 and now own a Firestudio 26 and love it. I love the quality of the recordings I'm able to do, and also the expanability of these interfaces.
Yep! I had some issues with popping/dropouts, until I disabled the two USB controllers sharing an IRQ with my 1394 controller. Since then, it has served me very well. Just check Presonus' motherboard/1394 controller compatibility chart before you buy one of their products; you might have to buy a PCI 1394 controller to get it working smoothly.
How does it compare to the Focusrite Saffire? I have an H4n for film recordings, but I work at a Theatre and a sound card would be nice to have.
That N64 controller has some age with that off center joystick.
Ahh. I remember when my Steam games list was that small. You've got a ways to go little one.
That's my list of installed games. I tend to have only the games that I'm currently playing on my SSD, since it is now practical to redownload games as needed.
:( I wish my bandwidth was good enough to use that method.
Good quality and non-ricey. Nice work.
Thank you. I don't have a lot of tolerance for ricey cosmetic stuff; the recent trend of putting hideously bright blue LEDs in otherwise excellent peripherals makes me sad.
