Computer Setup

What's the wallpaper on the home station? :) Sick build by the way!
Why do you have your fan facing the wrong way?
Also looking for the wallpaper!
Up vote for awesome cats and Panic carpet.
No gaming setup is complete without cats.
What do you do for a living? Your work setup looks pretty sweet.
I just have to say, Status Board is amazing!
Oh man, I can't wait! I currently have my iPad Mini set up on my alarm clock beside my bed, I have the radar, temperature and what's on my calendar.
OH! You are the guys would make Coda! Very nice product! :)
I don't want to be that guy, but someone gotta make that popover disappear when moving up from the icon. That shit is just annoying. And please inline the "Request help with..." part on the bottom of the site.
What do you mean by inline?
Dat schiit. beautiful. how does it sound?
So good! I'm upgrading from the Modi to the Bifrost in a few weeks. :)
Isn't that keyboard the Corsair vengeance k70? I want that so bad!
Yes! I really like it. I added the O-Rings, as it's pretty loud without them.
I have the red version, love it so much!
Yep. I had to install the O-rings even at home. If I used this thing at work in my quiet office, I'm sure my co-workers would murder me.
I like the sound and the people I skype with don't seem to mind, I can definitely see where you're coming from tho. :p
A link the LED lights, please?
There is a similar product sold at my Costco that provides better LED protection with a rubberized sealant.
Don't need it indoors, but great for outside!
$25 back lighting? Please give us the link..
Yes, please! I had no luck finding any that cheap.
I'm really curious about cooling your Amp. I really like keeping everything cool, how are you powering the PC fan on the bamboo wood? Is it a fan voltage regulator?
Sure! The Asgard is a Class-A amp, so by nature, it gets pretty hot. The aluminum enclosure acts as a heat sink, so in reality, there's no need for a fan. At all. Like I'm not even sure why I'm typing this.
How do you like that case? I'm getting it, is it good? :)
I love cube cases in general, so this was a no-brainer. Great airflow, great cable management... The only downside is that it's sort of awkward to find a good spot for it on your desk because it's so wide. Definitely recommended.
How do you feel about the G602? I currently use a Logitech Anywhere MX whireless and I really like the wireless set up, but I would like to know if the different receiver makes a difference. I also like the idea of more buttons than the two on the thumb and then the two finger buttons.
I think it's great. I don't do a lot of FPS gaming, so the "accuracy" isn't as big of a deal. It has an "performance" mode that doubles the polling rate, so that helps. I also keep the receiver connected to the back of my keyboard, so the distance between mouse and receiver is never more than one or two feet. I honestly haven't been able to tell the difference between this one and a wired mouse. Definitely recommended.
Cool cool. So one more question, with the anywhere MX, i can fingertip grip it. Is the 602 too big for that? It seems like most people set themselves up for palm gripping and I'm not so much a fan.
Great question! Maybe? I have big hands and I can comfortably palm the 602.
Thanks for the comments. I definitely have bigger hands but they're not overly massive either. Trying it out will be a must, now O just need to find an actual brick and mortar that sells it...
Do you have any info on your home Headphone amp setup, and the tablet/small screen at your work desk?
How amazing are the a5+? I've been wanting these. I can't decide if what I want is the A5+ or the A2+
Not sure why you were down voted, thanks I really appreciate the opinion, would a sub be needed with the a2? I doubt they are with the a5, right?
The A5's have more than enough bass in an office setting for me. I did EQ the bass up a bit with the A2s, although I didn't find myself really wanting a subwoofer.
Thank you. Your build rocks
How do you like that Logitech 602? Trying to choose between that and the G700s and i'm leaning towards the 602.
If you love not having to change batteries, go for the 602. :)
Sweet! I only use rechargeable batteries too. I think I'm going to go for the 602. Thanks!
Awesome. I've had it since day 1, using the batteries that were in the box. So far, the battery meter hasn't dropped at all, and I've left it in Performance mode the whole time. Living up to the description for sure.
I'm loving the amp set up!
1 - What is the wood piece for the work amp stack?
Ah, so you just sat your stuff on it? Lol
I work for Panic, so there's that. :P I use it mostly for work, as it lets me keep up on email load, twitter messages, sales, number of crashes, bugs in the queue, etc. If you've got a lot of stats to keep track of, it's great. Depending on what you're using it for, it may require a bit of DIY coding for certain things.
First off, nice setup, and Panic is awesome. Love their products (especially Transmit).
Hell yeah! Thanks for helping to keep food on my table. :) I love the retina display, but I tend to keep it in "looks like 1920x1280" mode as I feel like I don't have enough screen real estate in full "retina" mode. I love the 27" cinema display. When I'm at work, it's definitely my primary display. I usually keep non essentials, like iTunes and Messages on the MacBook's display.
My pleasure. Truth be told, I switched to Mac for Coda 2, but mainly use Sublime Text and Transmit.
Super excited for Apple's next display, myself. I feel like they're holding off until they can "do it right". Keep an eye out for Coda 2.5 in the next few weeks. Huge feature update. :)
Did you sleeve those cables yourself? If so, what's the sleeve diameter for the individual cables? I'm thinking of doing it to mine since the white looks so cool.
I didn't. They're pre-sleeved cable extensions. White works really well for me since I have the UV lights. I figured it'd be easier for me to spend $5/cable pre-sleeved than do it myself. Maybe next time, though.
Yeah the white looks great under those lights. Awesome build.
How's the RAT as a work mouse? Back when I bought mine the drivers were just plain bad for OS X, and switched back to the Magic Mouse for work related stuff.
OH MY GOD the OSX driver for the RAT 9 is absolutely terrible.... like, make me want to take a piss on Cyborg's doorstep terrible. That + having to switch the battery out every 16 hours and I'm not sure why I'm still using it. Oh yeah, it's a terriffic mouse. It's still one of the few pointing devices I can use for long periods without fatigue (I have huge hands). I would have bought another G602 for work if I hadn't bought this one for $100 a year earlier.
How much did you pay for the cat randomizer you showed in the gif?
About $350, as my IKEA desk is basically a cat playground at this point.
A little too much Apple for my personal tastes, but still a really nice gaming setup nonetheless.
Does that DAC really get that hot that it requires a fan? I've been looking at getting one after xmas, what do you recommend?
What laptop (or macbook) stand is that? I'm looking for one, but I can't any good ones.
What are the specs of the cats?
What games do you play on a mac?
None, that's his work gaming setup.
