Fuck yeah ATH-M50s! Best headphones I have ever purchased, iPod, Gaming, everything! So good.
I just bought a pair in white. So so good.
Although you said that if you could choose a different case you would, damn that case and all the components match nicely. You even have the desk to match it.
Haha thanks ZeFlaw! The power supply just frustrates me; its huge and prevents me from doing more cord maintenance. I shouldn't blame the poor Zalman
How do you like that GTX 780? That's the one I'm planning on getting in the next couple of weeks.
Well, coming from an old HP laptop, It makes me grin like an idiot when I switch from the default graphics to ultra/very high. I was ready to pay $650 for it, then they announced a $100 dollar price drop and 3 games. I nearly shat my pants.
Sounds awesome. I'm using an HP laptop right now that does pretty well, but I can't get to the higher settings yet. I can't wait to turn games to Ultra.
I'd fire up Diablo 3 on lower settings and resolution, and it would sound (and feel) like the thing was about to take flight. That old hp laptop was definitely not built for games.
I'm even more excited now!
Where do you keep your hard drive? I have the same case and it looks like you took out the bays. I'm also thinking about removing the hard drive bays. How did you do it? Looks great.
The hard drive rests just below the DVD drive! I was concerned about airflow to the graphics card so I used a Dremel and blasted the damned factory rivets out. We definitely did some surgery on the case, but all in all, everything fits real snug.
How do you feel about the comfort level of the ATH M50s? I actually didn't buy them because of the fact that many people complain about how uncomfortable they are. I instead bought a pair of NVX Audio XPT100s (haven't gotten them yet) that are supposed to be really comfortable and have a considerably more balanced sound (the ATH M50s are said to be bass heavy) but the sheer amount of people that say that they love their M50s make me wish that I might have gotten them.
I have ATH M80's and they did get uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time when I first got them. I had to kinda stretch the headband out so it didn't clamp my head so tight and now they aren't nearly as bad. I imagine the M50's to be similar.
I will absolutely admit that they can become uncomfortable after about two hours of use. To combat the comfort inconvenience, I'll generally wear a hat or hoodie underneath. It's the pads that cause the issue, I have larger ears and the ATH-M50's don't quite cater to my ears in that respect. If you're savvy enough you can always replace the pads with something a little more plush.
Yeah, I know what you mean about hearing sounds that you haven't before. Switching to my JVC HARX-700 was a godsend from the muddled, terrible sound from my GameCom 780 USB headset that I was using before, and the JVCs were half the cost of the headset. I'm excited about getting even better headphones that have better definition and soundstage.
I have the ATH M50 and I never have comfort issues. They don't even get hot on my head. I love them even after wearing them for a 8h session. I use a sound card with mine and they sound great, but I'm not an audio expert so they could be all weird for all I know.
Re: full size backlit keyboard, I bought a Ducky Shine II a little while back and I love almost everything about it. My only minor niggle is that I went for Reds, after using it for a few weeks for both work and gaming I think Browns might have been a better choice.
I've heard good things about Ducky keyboards, where did you purchase it?
My favorite band! Can't wait for "Cult"
Are they still any good? I was big into "death metal" in highschool but watched all of my favorite bands sellout and all start to sound the same.
To be honest I've lost interest in most metal over the last 5 years and still think this band is amazing. I haven't listened to their latest album but I think I just have good memories associated with going to their shows. I listen to much more relaxing music these days.
TBDM makes me really picky about death metal music. I've grown so accustomed to Trevor's screams and belches that other deathmetal frontmen just sound bland and monotonous. As I Lay Dying, Children Of Bodom, and In Flames are the only ones I can really keep track of anymore.
The chorus to praise Lucifer is the best part of that album, besides for the awesome solo on the last last track!
Wintersun actually just released a new album "Time" and its 40 minutes of bliss, and TIME II is supposed to come out sometime within the next year or two. As for the rest of the bands on your list, yest they have sold out, but TBDM I don't think has. Their lineup keeps changing, but they still have that extreme deathmetal sound, with a 2 Tbps of punk thrown in.
Man dont get me started on Time.
Ah. Understood. Their first album has a few songs from their demo but much more polished and I can understand the difference. I love time for what it is though, I remember hearing that at some points in the album there are about 120 ish tracks all layered together. Sons of winter and time, and time are the two real tracks, but I generally listen to the entire album in one sitting as a posed to cherry picking songs. To each their own though mang.
