Computer Setup

I stared at that clock for way too long waiting for the image to sharpen up...
Your clock could REALLY use some anti-aliasing.
Hi guys, this is my bedroom/batttlestation set up. I've just finished repainting and tidying everything up so I'm pretty happy with it now. Apologies for the potato picture. The lighting is pretty crappy in here for my S3. Quick spec below, anything else you'd like to know then ask away :)
Are those ferrets stock or over-clocked? Who am I kidding, they are all over-clocked! I like your set-up mainly because you are like me; a keyboard/mouse combo to suit any possible contingency.
Never knew that thanks! although I've been looking at other strip lighting recently but unsure what to go with.
I've only installed mine two weeks ago, so, y'know - no guarantees.
Very similar to what I had in mind, I just don't like the reviews of overheating and failing after a while which would be a pain in the arse once stuck to the back of a wall mounted monitor.
I like the desk, plain and simple! I'm looking for something similar. Where did you get yours, if you don't mind?
Desk is from ikea and cost £35. I chose the size of top piece and the legs I wanted then just put it together. Very sturdy and great for the money.
Is it this one?
Yes mate thats the one.
What kind of dog is on your bed?
Hell of a tongue on that dog. Nice set up.
Yeah haha he had just had a good run around so was having a rest
Good lord that dog has a massive tongue.
How are you doing your under-desk cabling? struggling with mine
I bought sticky pads that you can push cable ties through, so everything is basically stuck to the underside lol. Extension cables are under there too, they're just stuck on with sticky pads. Everything is plugged in to the wall via the outlet on the very far left of the picture. The main extension cable runs down the far leg of the desk out of view.
That clock is awesome ;o
Looks great! I think we all want to know where you got the clock.
I'm more excited about your computer wallpaper... That's the UK version rignt? Ford Sierra (cosworth?) if I remember the name correctly...
Ahhh well atleast I had an idea :) my father autocrosses the US version :)
I can read your whole dvd collection.
Razor Lycosa? Does your keyboard gets stuck on a letter sometimes and keep doing it forever until you re-press it?
Yep its a pain in the arse!
Goddamn, I thought I was alone. They'll never fix that.
I sold my razor keyboard and mouse, I couldn't live with the constant bugs.
Mine tends to stop working every now and again until I've took the USB out for a few seconds
What that white thing on the right edge of your desk. looks like a flask with a flask holder attached to your desk.
Thats the controller for the LED lighting. You can pick a set colour, or randomise through a sequence. Also from ikea.
Do you have the link for the led? I like that.
More importantly, where can I get that clock?
Amazon, some kind chap posted the link above :)
I got that same clock for Christmas! :D
I love the overall look and feel of your arrangement. Do you have a rifle to go along with that .50 BMG? What's with the car air freshener, lol.
No it's a spent shell, a souvenir from Scotlands Secret Bunker. I had a spare car freshener lying about so thought I'd put it to good use on my headphones holder :)
How do you like those Creative Tactic 3D's? I've been thinking about picking up a pair myself.
Very good for the money, software customization is good too, not too heavy although the cups do tend to start annoying you after a few hours but you get used to it over time.
Love the wall mounted display
Yeah it's probably my favorite thing. Perfect eye height and I sit around 2 feet away so it's not too big.
Old car fan more than anything, I appreciate an older motor
Powered by Corsair - You're doin' it right.
It's good overall for the price of it, great customization, but the cups tend to dig in to you after a while. Although you get used to it.
Where did you get that lamp in your corner?
Argos (UK shop if you've never heard of it) I think it was about 15 pounds
Very clean setup. I like it.
Ha yeah, still need a few things to finish the room off before I'm done. I want another monitor to the right of that one for a start.
Nice style. You should submit to r/minimalism
Love it except for PC on desk.
I have a dog so unfortunately having it near the floor is a no no due to hair and more dust/muck from him. It was also easier to hide the cables this way.
I would be so nervous I was going to bump it off or something.
Too heavy to knock over :)
The shelves are at different heights! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH /internalscream
That's so I can go bigger with the TV without relocating the shelf any higher. Max I can go now is 42 which I'll be buying shortly, and I didn't want the TV any lower as it's the perfect height when lying opposite in bed.
Every time I see a gaming setup with the computer right on the edge of a desk it just makes me nervous.
It's on rubber feet, so it grips well on the wood with the weight of the tower being pretty heavy. It would take a fair bit of effort for it to fall off. Not something I'm worried about anyway.
Did you buy the table/desk or did you already have it?
Bought from Ikea, there's a link further up. Very cheap and sturdy and plenty of room.
I don't know why people put their towers on their desks. Seems like such a pain in the ass and dangerous as well. Nonetheless, sick setup dude!
To stop it from getting too dusty/covered in hairs as I have a dog. It's also far too heavy to be knocked off :)
Is it safer to put it on carpet? My psu fan is blowing inward not out (just an fyi.)
This is really nice. Well done.
I've always wondered where people get those backlights around you monitor and how much they'll set me back
I need a shelf similar to OPs for my movies any suggestions on where to get one like it?
What are peoples obsession with LEDs
I wouldn't call it an obsession, a lot of the time I'm on the computer I don't have any other lights on so it brightens it up a bit. It adds a bit of colour between the dark desk top and dark wall.
Hmmm yea ambient light i get that but it just seems to go overboard. keysboards...mice...all inside the computer
Keyboard is a good thing, the Mirror edition is fully glossy black so you can't see the keys at all in a dark room if the lights arent on. There's different setting on it too for gaming etc, or I could turn them off for daytime. The mouse is just the wheel and a small logo. You never see it as your hands pretty much always on it. Tower lights I can turn every one off apart from the power supply.
I have just always thought "gaming" stuff is over the top. It's big and bulky and very "bro" to me. I started to build a rig and I took a very minimalist and elegant approach. Can you change the colors?
I can change the colour on the headset. Keyboard mouse and tower no. Although I could replace tower LED's pretty easily if I got bored. I do like the little light they give off in the dark though.
