Computer Setup

A fellow f.lux user I see.
That shit is the first damn thing I install on any machine anymore. Fuck blues.
Flux tones down blue light emitted from your monitor. it can be configured to change with the sunlight or set at a static setting. it also has a few newer features to help you in low-light environments.
Actually, the reason why indoor lighting in homes is yellow and not white is because up until 7 years ago the incandescent light bulb was the only reasonable and economic option, and it generates yellow light. Office lighting is green tinted because the most economical light to use is a fluorescent lamp, and it produces a green light.
And I will never switch to that because it's harsh light. or I will buy those LED bulbs with the yellowish tinted casing. soft/warm light > cold/harsh light
Ah, gotcha. For myself I prefer natural white light, especially living up north in Canada where winter days are short, and we get very little daylight during the winter. If I could install a spotlight on my ceiling, I would.
No, people aren't switching to harsh white light, because people prefer soft yellow light, like a sunrise or sunset.
I might have to get that then....
I definitely recommend it. The new update also comes with a 'Darkroom' mode which inverts the colors so that white is black and vice versa. It makes your screen have almost no glare so you can use it with no lights on (for reading mostly).
It alters the colour temperature of your monitor depending on the time (bright during the day, dim at night). It's supposed to be easier on your eyes or something but it really irritated me not being able to see the colours properly.
Too bad it doesn't work in any of the games i play. reverts back to blue, and the mouse cursor bothers me the most. other than that it's great.
Weird, for mine it works over everything. Sometimes I even have to turn it off...
I would upgrade that cpu cooler if I was you. This rig has so much more potential!
It's in the post along with a GTX 770 and a BenQ 144hz 24 incher!
Just got a GTX770 myself. Not found anything it won't put out 60FPS on max settings so far.
Shit ports don't count
Have a 770, I get anywhere from 30-70 FPS depending on where I am with everything on max.
I bought it but haven't installed it yet. I'll have to put it to the test.
It's still about as poorly optimized as Arma 2, but hopefully it will get better. You'll get high fps outside of towns, but if you're near Cherno then you'll probably drop horribly. :(
My last graphics card handled it fine and this is a good upgrade. Shame about the poor optimisation though, u always ignored performance issues as it was a mod.
OP thinks his computer setup is almost finished. OP, one does not simply finish a gaming setup.
Once it's "finished" you will never quench the thirst for... More..
Almost finished.... for a while.
:( I have all these molex cables and no where to put them!
All of that is pretty much taken up with other cables, but i'm going to take it all apart and sort them out properly with cable ties when i get my gtx 770 and install that :)
Have you tried bunching them up and fitting them into one of the 5.25" or 3.5" bays. Great setup...
Eh, yeah, I bunched all mine up, tied them and put them under my single optical drive I have...
How did you get the backgrounds to synch up like that with the different sized monitors?
Just used a picture designed for 3 24 inchers, and it cuts off a little bit on the third monitor, the other two are both 24 inch. Also I use DisplyFusion, get it!
Stow, why no Gravbike background? Tssk.
:( I'm sorry my fellow tribal.
Love the Dota2 keys. If the 'R' key was a different color, would be nice too :)
Got the QPad heaton for £5 at Insomnia lan festival in UK, vest purchase I ever made!
Awesome look. Is your wallpaper from the Appalachian area by chance?
If I am not mistaken it is the AT 2020 or the AT 2035 by Audio Technica.
What do you use it for?
I mean music, podcasts, etc...?
Well it's a high quality microphone, so you could use it for both.
Get something on that wall! It's depressing in there!
Getting some posters framed as we speak!
I dont see many people using the... eh, what do you call it? The little stand-thing that holds your mouse cord. (Picture #5)
I love Roccat products. Both my M&K are from them, I didn't know they made the little stand-thingy though. I have no idea how well they actually work though. If I can find it on the internet I might have to buy one, for science.
Mine is called ROCCAT Apuri. It's a USB hub and a mousecord-holder. It's also a great little gadget for your desk.
I wish they still sold the Qpad HeatoN.
Can you elaborate on the Dota keys? I like them and google brought me no information.
Audio Technika AT2035, I can recommend!
What central monitor is that?
Mind posting your specifications? I'd like to know what case you're using.
We have the same mobo. We are brothers.
So I see you play a lot of League of Legends? ;)
My OCD for symmetry would kick in and force me to either replace all monitors with the same model or one central with two the same on either side.
Getting a BenQ 144hz 24 inch for the middle, and the other two are close enough to not bother me, they're both still 24 inch :)
