Computer Setup

The "hand me down" is an excellent reason to build a new one. both look good.
It is, isn't it. She was gaming on a C2D E8500 & 8800GTX previously.
Was pretty fun to see her reactions when she began discovering the difference in performance.
Really wish Noctua got their shit together and realised nobody wants brown fans.
I don't mind the color scheme, it's just that I can't get components or cases to match them. I think the colorscheme is clever because it differentiates them in a cluttered market. But I agree, eventually, that color scheme has to go.
Really wish people got their shit together and realized Noctua fans aren't anything special.
What stand are you using for the triple monitor setup?
Kind of a crappy question but got a link to that wallpaper?
Stalking this thread with the expectation someone would ask that.
I mainly ask for the lurkers.
You're a kind of person I like.
Might want to consider turning the heatsink on your girls computer 90 degrees. You dont want it sucking hot air from the GPU.
If his temperatures are fine as it is, he's okay.
But he is correct. My old pc has psu on top of the case and I tried that kind of setup, pushing air to the psu. I noticed the temperature is even higher than stock cooler. Then I changed it to the "correct" way and it's 8'c cooler.
Yeah, I know; it depends on your rig. But because there's two exhaust fans at the top of the case - one for both directions for setting up his heatsink - if he has a good intake, he doesn't need to redo sitting his heatsink and messing up the thermal paste.
If his temperatures are fine, sure he can leave it as is. But I'm willing to bet he would see better temperatures by turning the heatsink.
I have that same cooler and confirm the intended installation is different than what he's using. However, it may be intended to push air directly to the fan on the top of the case. If it's oriented to draw air from the bottom and push out the top, it might be a good effect for cooling.
I have the H100i and when I record my commentaries you can here it fucking around. Would recommend the noctuas? worth the investment?
Definitely, I noticed a major difference. I do however use a fan controller, not the pump outlets, to regulate the RPM.
Can you link me your setup (fans and fan controller)
I have the h100i and the same nf-f12s as you. I run them at around 1000rpm and its dead quiet. What do you run yours at?
Mine run around 1000 too and it's fucking insanely loud.
Woah everybody seems to have a gf that games these days
Give the poor girl one of your GTX 780s! What could you possibly be playing that uses both haha
He is rocking 3 monitors.
I was only joking, but I guess if he is using them for Nvidia surround he would need both
middle monitor contrast variation is buggin me
Can you please fix your color profiles and bezel compensation? It hurts my eyes.
Good shit on the Quorra background. Olivia Wilde looks gorgeous with that hair.
Where did you buy those desks?
On the Swedish equivalents of ebay, IKEA unfortunately stopped selling them.
They're quite robust though, so I managed to get these in pretty much perfect condition for about one third of the original price.
Damn, I saw those desks and immediately went to the Ikea website before reading the comments. You've dashed my hopes to pieces!
Do those little side things support a fair amount of weight without wiggling around? Do you use them for keyboard or mouse or just putting stuff out of the way from your hands?
Alright,i found em on Ikea - thank you
Did you cut your mousepad to fit the corner of the desk?
Yeah, I found the excess piece pretty annoying. 2 minutes with a boxcutter, problem solved.
Haha nice, i could see myself doing the same thing if my mousepad hung off the desk.
Your gf needs an SSD! :p
What monitor stand are you using? Does it support anything larger than 24"?
Now that's what I call a successful relationship!
What watercooling is that? I am looking to get one for my R4.
Same wallpare I am using :D
She has a better mouse than you :)
How does the h100 fit in there ?
