Computer Setup

Everyone has more money than me.
Just keep working hard! you'll get there!
Make sure you work smart, too. You can build a huge skill set, but if it's not in something that the economy values, there won't be much money in it.
I see this microphone so often now I have to ask, are you using it just for Skype/Ts or something similar? If so, does it also transmit pick up your keyboards sounds or can it "avoid" them?
One thing that helped me was to place the mic on a small brick of foam. It reduces vibrations from the table so while the keys are still somewhat loud, the vibration caused by pressing on keyboard and from the computer are much much more silent.
I love this mic it does pick up my current keyboard because its mechanical and has really loud blue switches. that being said there are soo many ways to avoid it from picking up any and all background noise. if you place it infront of your keyboard and turn it onto cardiod (it should be at all times if your talking directly at it) it wont pick up anything behind it (with in margin of error) another tip would be to place it on a cloth or t-shirt to absorb shock noise(banging on the table and what not) or using a shock mount and mic arm which can cost quite a bit of money. if you follow what i said to the guy bellow you should be extreamly happy with your results! if you dont want to spend around $100 on a mic like this an audio techinca at2020 is about $60 and will have verry similar results but wont have options beyond cardiod (which is all you need realy) hope this helped.
Well currently I'm using the mic from logitech webcam which results in a lot of anger from the people I'm TSing/Skyping with because of my mechanical keyboard.
Thanks for your suggestions, I will look into that :)
Can you use that mic for other stuff, like gaming? Or is it tied to the camera?
The mic is tied to the camera (it's this one) but you can use it like any mic and independent from the camera itself.
I own the blue yeti and it sits in my closet. It is very sensitive and picks up background noise. My keyboard and mouse are picked up as well
You probably dont have it set up correctly... try right clicking on the volume mixer and selecting recording devices. than click properties on the blue yeti go to the levels tab and slide it all the way down. if it goes back up when you open skype or a program like that just go to options, audio settings and uncheck "automatically adjust microphone settings." hope this helped!
What settings do you have on it? for gain and type.
If your using it for Skype always keep it on cardioid (the little heart) as for gain that's on a person by person bases gain is how loud the peak will be so if your a loud person like myself I'd try keeping that at about a quarter of the way up. But to get the best results try going into a program like audacity or anything that will record your voice to test different configurations and see what is best. But I can't stress enough how much of a difference it makes to keep the levels down like I said previously
Very clean. I like it!
Those desktop backgrounds. I need them in my life too. Pls.
That is an awesome cairn terrier ( if that's what it is)
Thank you! and you are correct!
We have a really fat one. He's tan though.
Yeah she got fat over the winter I don't know why, I take her out on jogs everyday. I think it was to insulate herself but she's slimming back down and yeah when we adopted her the pound said she was rare because her breed is usually white.
If its white, its a westy. I think.
Hm interesting! thanks for the information!
What kind of puppy is that? Cairn Terrier?
Yes! but she is not a pupy anymore sadly shes about 9 years old.
Looks very nice! Is there a particular reason why you went with 1 monitor? Nothing wrong with it, just wondering.
It didnt fit my budget! and i regret it! i used 2 mointors for 2 years and now that im back to one i honstly dont know how people are productive with 1 monitor. im thinking of returning one of my SSDs to get another monitor because im not as productive anymore.
Gotta love how the Sabertooth mobo looks.
Love the aesthetics but i kind of wish it had the 4 way optimisation like the other asus mobos, and more molex plugs for fans and leds, and my front panel usb 3.0 is bent! :/
Hmm I didn't know about this, how many custom fans can you install?
Do you have a link for the table you have?
Sorry no i bought it localy :/ but its a black glass desk so if you google it you might be able to find one. Good luck!
Do you like it? I've heard both good and bad things about it.
Hmmmm... this is a hard one i love the astetics of the case and it was extreamly simple to build in, its not perticularly loud and its about 2 feet from me and overclocked, its also quite cool becasue it has 5 140mm fans (idle at around 30 degrees celsius). BUT it feels abit cheep when building in it... the stealth SSD mount is ridiculous to put back on, infact i never figured out how to do it. the hardrive mounts in general can be quite loud depending on where you have them because they vibrate in certain spots, the front panel cabels and included fan cables are a bit too short short to reach some places in the case and end up getting in the way. All in all for $150 i do not at all regret buying this case! hope this helped!
What Monitor do you use.
The Samsung S24C750p. i absolutly love this monitor to start off its got a VA panel so the blacks are actualy black not a darkish grey and the color reproduction is beautiful. its got a 5ms respnse time so its decent for gaming (nothing harcore ofcourse)and is just standerd 1080p 60hz. the bezel is absolutly beautiful and you can rout the cables down the special stand. now for what i didnt like. the samsung menu is absolutly terrible altough you may not use it, its truely unpleasnt. also the monitor stand has no hight adjust which i dont particuarly mind but im fairly tall (6.1ft). lastly it can get a little to dark in some games but i dont mind i think it adds to the immersion. again this is one purchase i do not regret! hope this helped.
When on amazon and saw it for £180 bought it without hesitation.
Do you like your headset for gaming? Or do you use it mainly for music. If Music how do you like it for that?
You are correct! these are by far the best headphones ive had yet! they are very sturdy (had them for about half a year and my cat loves to abuse them) and are great for gaming and music. i like having the flat EQ because nothing is to overpowering but very clear. i use them for about 3-5 hours everyday and only had mild uncommfort when i was breaking them in. the only regret i have with these is getting the coiled cable instead of the straight one because i use other headphones to travel. hope this helped.
I'm seriously contemplating getting the revamp when it comes out in a month. They look like the shit and are supposed to have improved sound as well. Now I'm more excited.
Definitely look into them it's a very good option but it isn't the only one id look into other options and make a well informed decision it's an expensive decision and one that you'll want to get right! If you like the boomy base these don't excel in that field but if you like clarity and appreciate listening music the way it was meant to these might be for you!
That seems to be more a personal preference for how music was meant to be. Usually because of genre that the buyer listens to mainly. I don't stick to one genre or even lean towards one genre. everything from Bach to dub to deathmetal to country. I listen to everything. (not pop that isn't music it is pandering).
We are very similar in that I listen to a wide range of music other, headphones I was looking at were the custom one pros from beyerdynamic they might appeal to you more because you like dubstep and death metal and you can change the bass output.
I would'nt worry about ohms im sure your motherboard can support enough volume my headphones get uncomfortably loud and i leave the at about 25% for everyday listening
Where can i get that piece that covers the mobo?
That is the thermal armor that comes with the Z87 sabertooth and Z77 sabertooth from asus i dont think you can buy it as a stand alone product.
Damn, maybe if I google my motherboard i can find one for mine.
I'm sure there will be something similar out there maybe try searching for protective motherboard covers or motherboard armor.
What are those wraps that you have around your wires?
Nice. i got the same chair im loving it
Yeah it's great! But my cat has ruined it...
Why get a big ass 750D if you're not even filling a quarter of the space? Custom loop or nothing squirt.
Because is a cheap beautiful case and has room for upgradeability. Squirt.
