Not too bad. I swiffer it every once in awhile and keep a can of air behind the monitor. I like the routine better than opening up a case every month.

I'd worry about a stray house fly getting a tad too curious with my GPU fan.

That looks like a testing bench, not really designed for permanent use.

I paid $80 through a friend who bought 2 during a Newegg sale.

None so far. I could see potential problems if you have small children or position it in a spot where items can fall on it. If you have a fairly loud video card or HSF, it could get a little loud (see R29x series) too.

There's no protection for the motherboard and everything attached directly to it so you have to be careful and make sure you never drop anything on it. Cut a trace and your motherboard is trash. Dust and noise also come to mind.

The major negative is you have not set air flow. There is no dedicated intake of cold air and output of warm air. If you plan to use your rig like this in the long term you will severely shorten the life of your parts.

I ran a test bench for years with no issues... You can strategically place fans to provide airflow to components

This is horribly and completely wrong. The air will move just fine through a test bench. The only cause of concern is there is no protection for your parts.

I'm always wondering ... don't the usa have laws about this? I mean noone is gonna come to my house and check for it until there really is a neighbour complaining, but its not allowed to beam your electromagnetic rays just all over the place.

Wat. There is no danger from electromagnetic rays. Every electronics device sold in the USA has been certified by the FCC not to cause interfence with other devices. (but we can't use cellphones on airplanes because the FAA says it might crash the plane even though the FCC already makes sure our devices can't do that.)

No one is suggesting that electronic devices don't emit some amount of radiation, but it is negligible, and certainly not going to disrupt your other electronic devices, and certainly not those of your neighbors. Unless you have a PCI-E radar dish. I've always wanted one of those, you know, to detect enemy aircraft.

I'm thinking about getting that one. What is your opinion of it? Does it have any stuck pixels or would the pixel perfect edition be a good idea?

Best monitor you can buy for around $300. I ordered 2 non pixel perfect editions, one for work and the one pictured here, and both arrived without any dead pixels. One of them had some minor back-light bleeding which was only noticeable in the corner when the screen was black, but that was easily fixed by taping the panel.

Is there a built in gamma adjustment setting on the monitor itself?

Just basic brightness and volume buttons along with the power. No on screen menu.

How much more does the slide out portion go? I was looking at that desk this morning. I have a triple monitor setup and would like to have room for a laptop on the side, too. Having some desk space for writing and reading books food and other junk would also be nice...

The slide out table is a little over two feet, and maybe over 15" wide. On the desk part I can comfortably fit a 27" monitor and a 20" as well as my full tower on it, push my keyboard up and use a medium sized wacom tablet. I also have an over-sized mouse pad that is a good length of the desk. The little table comes in handy more than you would think - and if you have cats it is perfect for them. Out of my business and on to their own.

I believe they're Harman Kardon Sounsticks III. I've heard them before and they aren't really anything special. They are on par with Logitech 2.1 systems but with a better brand name and transparent housing.

$150 retail for a freaking 2.1 system? damn.

Harman Kardon is not really known for their value.. more of a luxury brand. They do all the stock speakers in BMW's

They aren't gonna blow your mind, but they are pretty great speakers, mine get mistreated all the time, and they still work after who knows how long.

Correct. Nothing special but they get the job done when I rarely use the speakers. Most of the time I'm using my headset or my ATH-M50's with the FiiO E7 w/ the dock.

Have those headphone's love em, had that amp for my ipod too but upgraded to the E11, but why do you need them for a PC?

I work for the parent company Harman, those sticks are eyebrow-raisingly powerful for what they are. I would own them.

And if you curious at all the speakers on the right are from Polk Audio and the amp is Marantz.

I understand that benchmark cases are cool, it's just not a practical case for permanent use. Risk damaging your hardware.

What do you think about the m50 alone vs m50 with the fiio?

Really good. The reason I went with the FiiO combo was because my on-board soundcard sucks and causes a lot of interference. Having a better DAC outside the computer makes a huge difference. It also allows me to hook up my speakers for superior sound bypassing the sound card. The portable amp is a plus when using a tablet or cell phone.

Forgot to mention the amp really drives the sound and makes the bass and treble tighter along with providing distortion free loudness. Hardware control over sound > software.

Because the m50s have low impedance, an amp really isn't required like for other higher impedance phones. A good DAC on the other hand always makes things better.

What GPU is that? I could make out the "GTX 7--" but not much else.

Wouldn't this lead to cooling issues? I was under the impression that cases were designed with airflow in mind, and that components were designed to work with proper airflow that would be supplied by a case. I mean, I do an external test with everything I build, but it's never more than a function check.

Actually, I was surprised that it runs much cooler outside the case. I even had a great Cooler Master case with lots of fans. We'll see how it goes this summer.

That's pretty awesome, then, and blows my mind a little bit. If I didn't have a cat, well, I'd still be too chicken to use this as more than a testing station, but it's still pretty slick.

I used the T60 (that case) in a house with two cats. They were supremely uninterested in it.

I saw a guy who built a machine onto his wall. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The tech looks beautiful, and a clear glass pane doesn't do it justice.
