You know dude, it would be awful easy for you to go into business making these custom boards for people. Excellent job, keep it up!
Hell I would pay for one
I second this. Take note OP, people are lining up.
Yes OP we've got lots of doge coins to spend.
I would definitely build another computer if I had the option to buy one of these.
I keep throwing money at my screen, but nothing's happening!
Same here. I'd pay 200$ for that mini plank.
Seriously I would as well. Please consider this.
Can you tell how you did make the computer "case" it's amazing :D
Same build process used for this one as for the big version. Check out the build log on MAXxPlanck V2.
If I suddenly come into millions, I'm definitely commissioning you to build one of these for my inevitable $10000+ computer. Hell, I'd probably end up paying 10k alone for the mount.
Can you tell us how you did those triangular cuts? If the angles weren't right how much would it mess with the lights?
Damn you and your sexy builds.
I've seen the build post for V2, and I'm still not sure how you made the triangle grooves below the LED strips. How did that work out?
All the acrylic panels are cut at 45° angle to get the edge lit effect.
This is really smooth, you should sell just the wall mounts, that is beautiful but its not something i have the ability or means to make for myself. If i could buy a mount that, after answering a few questions about the components i have, has a layout i would.
You should do one even smaller by taking apart the Gigabyte Brixx Pro so you have a Crystelwell settup.
You should build a few "cases" and sell em to people that want to just add the hardware.
If only Ebay didn't take 9.9%.
Still better than my gaming computer (except I have a GTX 260) haha
That's amazing. I happen to have use of a laser cutter and plan on making an ultra-portable gaming Mini-ITX box (aka mounts for video card) on a small footprint. I already have laser cut the mounts for the Mini ITX motherboard, but I have questions on how you attached the other parts.
The integrated graphics on the APU will really benefit from faster RAM speed. Consider upgrading it for better gaming experience. Here are some benchmarks where you can see the difference.
Because of you i want to make a desk-mounted pc.
To everyone asking if you would consider selling a kit...
It's nice and all but your starting bid is a little ridiculous.
$1000 dollars is a bit too high don't you think?
Well I just guessed at parts cost since I am mobile but that would be roughly $500 in hardware and ~$500 for the materials to build the "case" and the labor of course. Dunno what the materials cost but I would say they probably were not too much of that $500 so most is really for his labor. Keep in mind this is a hand crafted masterpiece not a mass produced cube.
It's some pc components mounted to a board with leds underneath, while it looks neat and I'm sure it took him time to build it it's not "masterpiece"
If it's going to be 'usual old people stuff' ... why in the world does it need an SSD? Are they going to notice a couple microseconds' difference in launch time of IE?
HDDs are the bottleneck of all modern PCs, no matter how shitty the other hardware is, the HDD is going to slow it down.
Well, for certain environments, yeah. I use SSD on all my stuff, but I'm a mid-level gamer, and I hate level-load times. My point is that practically nothing old folks are going to be doing should result in needing to load large quantities of stuff from the drive. With a decent amount of RAM, most of their stuff will probably just reside in it almost constantly. Maybe if they're watching 2160p videos, which I would hope they're not on that, what, 22" monitor? Technically, yes, they might gain a couple seconds on boot-up. But even if it's there, they probably won't notice it.
Your parents were hoping you'd take that money they gave you and come back with a nice MacBook Air
The wall mount guy. A classic character to this coolcomputersetups. Love your work.
Can I be "humble"-guy (that always seems to place his speakers too close together)?
When it comes to PC's you are, indeed, GoodAtIt.
Did you make the case around the Caviar Blue?
Yes. Printed a cardstock case.
Eh, not too worried about the cleanliness of it, just curious mostly where everything routed, especially those switches. Well done, I might just give this a try.
Also want to know how the caviar blue ended up looking like this.
Yeah baby . . . show me what's under there . . .I want to see how you can manage all these cables ..
Damn. What's the price for a build like this?
God damn it.
Open up your own company where you sell your builds or offer custom ones.
1) You be stinking rich.
2) Rest of the world can dive into a never ending fap session with one of these bad boys at home.
Out of curiosity, for the other one. Is liquid cooling really needed as it's open air?
Water cooling is not a necessity. Main reason that I do it: Looks cooler, and much quieter.
Are those UV lights in those cylinders with the coiled lines?
Those are custom reservoirs from frozen CPU. The twirl is a UV reactive acrylic with a UV cathode in the center.
That's really neat... for sterilisation, I assume?
Not really. Mostly for overclocking as well as the absolutely sexiness.
How did you do that lighting? It's amazing.
There is a 4mm thick acrylic panel behind each component with LED strips attached to it.
I know you cut them to needed dimensions for the build but where did you get the acrylic panels ? And is cutting them easy ? I don't have space or knowledge of which tools I would need to do such a thing
I have a question about your other rig. What do you call the things that allow you to mount the video card some place else, other than the PCI slots. I want to say they're called PCI adapters, but I can't seem to find them on google.
Risers and no, we used risers in a LTC miner I help build.
What does it cost to make the mini?
Computer parts was $600. Wallmount parts was about $100.
And took about 20hr to make.
You should some plans of the wall mount :) I wanna build one.
So, if you were in business making these I would expect to see them for sale for around $1200 then?
Assuming he had no employees and was working full-time out of his garage, then he would be able to produce a maximum of about 98 units per year. If he worked at full capacity and sold every unit at $1,200 each (plus tax and shipping), this would result in an equivalent hourly wage of $20.14.
Thats assuming he doesn't just design the board and components and outsource the plans to a manufacturer.
Yes, and I'm sure there's other ways he would find to streamline the process. He could probably cut assembly time nearly in half just with practice.
Wow, such good comment. Excellent research.
Standard 300% retail markup. ~$1800
How do you control the dust?
I imagine just wipe it out with a wet cloth.
Christ, not a wet cloth. Bad idea. Wet does not go near electronics. Ever.
Just use pure alcohol :)
Christ, not pure alcohol. Bad idea. I wouldn't waste perfectly good alcohol!
Just make sure it's methanol, can't drink that shit anyway.
Christ, not shit. Bad idea. That would just make everything dirtier!
Here, have my Iso Alcohol.
You can wash non mechanical keyboards.
I don't like wall mounted computers on average, but this is an absolute thing of beauty !
I've always wanted to do this, definitely know what my next build is going to look like.
Taking your username seriously, huh?
What are the downsides to these open case builds ? Do they cool OK, and do they accumulate less dust?
No, and no, but they look bad-ass.
So, how much do you have to spent in terms of materials and leds and whatnot to make a smaller case like that? The acrylic panel probably costs like ten bucks depending on how thick it is and where you got it, those stand offs probably cost like five bucks each, but the rest I have no idea.
About $100. It's mainly the time and effort spent making it that's expensive.
And I jizzed in my pants
I have no idea what I'm looking at but it's beautiful.
Why on earth do you have these extremely beautiful builds, while using a normal keyboard, display and mouse? Those are the things you actually interact with, and have contact with, so why not spend money on it?
Hi, really one stunning Pc along with the V2!!! I got one question: Although you didn't use them here, do the PCIe-Extensions on the V2 (to the Graphic/Soundcard) cause any delay? Thanks a lot in advance
ITS YOU! THE GUY WITH THE THING!
Seriously, that craftsmanship is top notch. Great job man.
I loved your last build and this new mini rig is just a sweet!
Fucking awesome man, saving this for future use.
Amazing work man. Was thinking of trying something my self but just for a small server sort of thing.
Oh my god. PLEASE MAKE A BUSINESS!!!
I already have the components but you should make a business designing and building the bases for the bits to attach to... That would be so awesome!!
I would love to do this but it looks so difficult :(
It looks so good! Congrats. Once I wanted to do a build like this but after a while I gave up. It looks really like I thought it would do. It's perfect! Any advice too someone trying to do that kind of build? Maybe a guide?
Where can I find that case?
I'm jelly. You are talented.
Damn this is really freaking nice.
Where can I buy the materials to make something similar?
Be sure to give them a good USB hub.
Geez... I would love this type of talent... Beautiful and unique.
Fantastic look. But can't help just hearing 'neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' looking at that fan.
When I saw the last couple of photos, "Oh so your THAT guy"
I only wish I could have something like that
This is awesome, but how does everything not get all dusty with the sides so open like that?
Plexi glass should go over your main build.. it looks so damn good
I need to do this
This makes me want to sell my wife and buy this.
I would be way to scared to have any food or drinks around that area. But that does look sick
You put drinks on your wall?
I just get so jealous looking at your builds
I have that same screen and keyboard.
:( can you please put mine together? I just hate putting things together
I have that monitor! Wish I had the rest too.
Where did you find those grommets? I can't find grommets for me desk build :(
What are the black inserts you used on the board for cable management?
Holy shit, this is sexy as fuck.
I want that. How much? How long? What do I need to do?
You are amazing, I want to sex your system.
That looks like a pain in the ass to clean.
Thats so hot, and Im gonna take a moment to appreciate how simple your microsoft keyboard is in comparison to the beauty of this build.
"Damn this reminds me of the top post on this coolcomputersetups, *get to pic 6*. Oh, it's this guy again, no wonder."
I want to have a threesome with your PCs.
Please start selling these man. I would pay premiums just to buy these things. Trust me, take the risk, start your own business.
That is fucking cool as hell.
That's fucking incredible, so nice.
Daaamn son, clean as fuck!
Is that real carbon fibre or some sort of vinyl effect?
Would definitely purchase. Please do a DIY on youtube!
Dare I say it? It looks even better than the first. Makes my home server in a £25 CiT case look pretty inferior...
Absolutely love it!
Gotta love the Comfort Curve 2000 - Best keyboard going...
Honestly, this one is crap compared to the original
