Two Man Gaming Desk - Computer Setup

Comments

So, how do you watch porn?
Oh man did not see that ending coming
That is always my first question when I see couples gaming setups/two man gaming setups
How old are you and your brother?
At the time, 21 & 23
That is the same age between my brother and myself. Do you still live together?
Yeah, I said "At the time" to make myself less sad.
This turns me on in ways other gaming setups never could.
Looks great. Any chance you have photos of the build process? Love the design.
Unfortunately I didn't think to take pictures while making it... I think I have one really bad cell phone picture I'll upload
Pretty cool! I think i'm gonna go with a simple flat surface desk next time. How stable are those legs? Does it wiggle at all?
It does a bit, I have L brackets screwed into the wall for stability
If you look at the picture, you can see that the platform the computers sit on is not yet complete.
Yeah love it. Nice work.
Haha I see. I thought you were mocking me saying I didn't really make it. You made me internet mad.
Not at all Sir.
Awesome, thanks. Does it break down into smaller pieces or did you break it down and just reassemble it inside? I ask because it doesn't look like it would fit through the door.
It's in 4 major pieces. The top shelves are one, the table is another, the center platform and cupboard are the third, and the sides / legs are the last. It was never fully assembled before it entered the room. In that picture, it's just placed together, but not actually assembled.
Why don't you have the orange/blue portal wallpapers? Do it, do it now.
Nice! You should put a renegade decal on the orange/red side and a paragon one on the other side u^
I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite gaming setup on the Citadel.
I am always looking for interesting desks as I am planning to build a new one for myself soon and this is pretty awesome! Any chance of you taking some measurements? How did you do the keyboard trays? I am usually not a fan of trays since I am pretty tall and the arms on my chair ends up always hitting the desktop.
Definitely, It's 31 inches to the desk top from the ground. I built it a little higher than normal so the keyboard would rest at my chair's arm rest height(25 inches)
You mentioned the platform the towers sit on works but not as you planed. What would you change to make it better? Also I love it, do you have any plans/drawings with dimensions?
The main reason is that it is SO hard to clean, maintain, and do anything with the computers themselves. They're pretty tucked away. There's enough room to use the drives and plug stuff in, it's just not the easiest.
Thought of having a USB hub sit on the desks (maybe mounted underneath) to make things a little easier?
Whoever gets the red side is the unlucky one imo. I feel like red would get annoying after awhile, while a light blue like the right side would feel nice. Also being in the corner like that is pretty nice.
We can change the colors with a remote, I like having the left side though.
Red is actually softer on the eyes than blue, and would disappear more into the surroundings.
No you got it right the first time. Red is softer on the eyes. The blue wavelengths (see: every electronic device ever) of light is very disturbing to the eyes in the dark and causes bad health effects. It throws your bodies circadian rhythms out of order by causing our bodies to not secrete melatonin.
I freaking love this. I wish my brother and I could di this kind of thing together. Great work!
I have that captain america poster. Really want those other ones you have =(
My sister found them at a Ross I believe. It has been a while though. And Thanks!
Can confirm. saw them at Ross last week. btw are those forceFX lightsabers?
Yeah, Obi Wan's and Darth Vader's
So which one are you?
That is a lot of desk space. Good for piling cats!
Is it annoying having the monitor that far away? When i got a bigger desk and had my monitor further back it bugged me so I had to move it to the edge of the desk.
It's never bothered me, I do catch myself leaning towards the monitor sometimes though.
This probably sounds really stupid but if you end up naming your gaming setup you should call it a Jaeger, or like Gipsy Danger. It's very fitting given the layout and the context of you two being brothers. Also I really like your lighting, and whoever is sitting on the left is really lucky for being so close to the bed haha.
Indeed I like that my bed is next to me. Been thinking about a 3rd monitor to go in the middle for movies and such. That's the biggest problem of such a customized desk. I can't much change anything without it looking out of place.
Hmm in my opinion you might want to consider moving a larger monitor (or even a small 32-40 inch TV) to be placed on top of your desk and move the posters out of the way.
What lighting kit did you purchase? This is awesome
How much approximately does this cost? Thinking of making something like this for my brother and I.
It was about $400-500 in materials. Including hardware, paint, stain, and screws. Probably could have been less. There was a lot of left over because I had planned on making drawers. Instead I made a cabinet and that was a lot of wasted wood.
I have the same tower...what do you have running inside it? And nice desk, this feels like a gaming setup for sure.
For me: MB: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
Thats a really awesome design. As a person who plays next to his brother and 3 friends daily, I approve.
+1 for Garus. Awesome work dude. Looks really good. Which side is yours? Red or blue?
Red. although it's actually orange except in the shots with the lightsabers on.
Nice dude. I like your style. Kudos.
Dude. I'm jealous. I wish I had two machines!
Haha, reminds me of a ground control station for a uav.
This deserves more than 1 bookmark. Its freaking awesome!
Ahh, I really like this.
This is so fresh. I have a ghetto dual gaming setup with my roomate, and this is what we dream of.
Awesome station! Quick question, how did you make the Terran wall art? It looks awesome, love to have one for myself.
I Covered a steel sheet in contact paper, cut out the design and let it rust.
This is awesome! Great work man!
