Would you mind linking me to that desktop picture? I love it.
Just a quick question: storing desktop straight on the carpet...dust problem? other adverse things? hows it working for you so far
The case has filters over all of the fan vents, but I normally clean out most of my desktop PC's once a month regardless.
Good on you. I was looking at that case too, its a hoss.
What a heast case!
All other cases hlow in comparison!
Are the fan filters mounted externally or internally?
Externally. You can remove and clean them all without opening the case.
You need to put it on a slab of wood to get proper airflow through the fans in the bottom of the case.
I know it's a galant but can you speak about the exact pieces used? Is it just corner + extension on the narrower side (is one side in fact narrower)?
It is the corner piece and extension. It makes it even lengths on both side.
Looks amazing! That's my favorite computer case I would love to get one someday, just beautiful
Yo could you hit me with the specs on that Jimmy John's cup?
Nice spot. I think it is a circa 2010 plastic cup. Wife and I got a bunch that we use for drinking glasses when we don't want to dirty the nice glasses. The things can withstand anything.
God damn, that case is hideous.
I like it. It is different and has a ton of features. Great airflow.
My favorite feature of that case is the arm for you to coil your water hose.
You either love the case or completely hate it
I'm definitely in the love it camp. I love how blocky and function over fashion it looks. It's like a tool box.
I'm indifferent towards it. On one had it looks clunky, but on the other it has a cool, death star look going on.
I actually love the case. I am not a huge fan of cases like the HAF-X that look like a transformer and the corsair cases are nice but fairly plain. This was good middle ground. The reviews for it were all really great as well.
Nothing personal, but I think that your gaming setup is the ugliest I've ever seen.
Cool. What would you suggest I do differently?
Welp, first off you can try some cable management, it looks like Tarzan can swing his way around in there! Secondly, get the monitors off of the books and either put them on the desk or mount them. For the third I suggest you make the speaker system you have more engaging by hanging them in the corners of your room rather than having them all garbled on your desk. And my last criticism is, no mouse pad?
Well, +1 for not just saying 'Everything'.
I've always had an appreciation for sound to come from different locations, it makes me feel as if I'm completely engulfed in whatever I'm doing. Whether it be listening to music, watching a movie or running away from zombies, the blanket of sound intensifies whatever emotion it is I'm feeling. And that is why I feel like it's the best utilization for speakers, but to each his own. I also believe a nice, high quality mouse pad makes a difference. I like my wrist to be comfy during intense achievement hunting binges, seeing as how my wrist gets beaten up enough. Books on a desk serving a purpose other than being a temporary paper weight agitates my OCD for a clean, sleek desk.
Very nice. This is close to what I want mine to look like when I finally have the money to build it.
I used to have lower back pain so picked up 2 of those chairs (home and work) and the pain went away. I slouched quite a bit and this chair forced me to use good posture to go into a reclined position. It is a great chair if you like to slouch or recline while sitting, else stick with something else.
Not really on-topic but when I started squatting and deadlifting my low back pain never came back. Do note that when you first start you will get sore (including your lower back) so you want to ease into it very slowly. Just something that was very helpful to me.
Yea I do a lot of yoga and crossfit, however it was mostly due to bad posture.
Thanks for the info, was considering a similar chair (the Duorest) and Aeron, but people always give them bad reviews so I got scared to drop that money. It's too much a PITA to send back if I'm not satisfied, will look deeper into it now, even though I've trained myself to sit properly since I got a new computer chair.
If your city has a Koch Brothers or Office Max, go and try a few. Koch Brothers allowed me to demo the chair for 2 weeks before I purchased.
This is definitely the kind of thing you want to go to a store and try. I was trying to decide between the Aeron, Humanscale Freedom, and Steelcase Leap chairs. Inititally I was going to buy an Aeron online, but found a store where I could try all three instead.
I do tend to slouch so I'm sure it would be beneficial for me to get one. I just can't afford.
How do the XFire 7970's perform at 5760 x 1200?
Pretty well. Using RadeonPro I was able to sustain 60fps on Crysis 3 on max settings.
How does that fan controller work? I've been looking at a few
I mainly just like how it looks. The temp sensors are nice as well.
About how much did the computer itself cost? Not counting any monitors or desk or anything. Looking to build a new one soon.
Close to $3000 for my rig. Monitors is another $1000 for 3.
Wow, great job saving for that. The rig is roughly double what I'm currently saving up for. Then again I am 15. Working 20 hours a week at minimum wage. Shouldn't be long now.
How is that case? I saw it and have thought about it, but because of the modular way it looks I was worried about components fitting and airflow....
Airflow is actually great and everything fits really well. Lots of options for cable management. The disk drive bays are all hot swappable and comes pre-wired to reduce running lots of extra cables.
Love my Eclipse, good call.
What kind of box does the desk come in, would it fit in a compact SUV?
I got my desk used off of Craigslist for $100. The lady delivered it in an SUV and it all fit just fine.
Is that a headphones holder attached to your PC case? Where did you get that? I would like something like that. Thanks man, cool setup BTW.
Yup the case comes with one.
How do you like the Thermaltake Level 10 GT? I plan to purchase a case with drive bays and that is one of my contenders.
Nice setup! Can you please post more pictures of your table? Beneath and overall?
Could I ask you where you got your desk? I'm looking for a corner one like that.
I like the case. Unique.
Your chair cost more than my computer
What do you do for a living where you need such a powerful computer and can work from home?
Posting for later, need chair and desktopphoto
How well does Crossfire work for you? I'm thinking of CF 7950's but I heard AMD isn't very good with CF. Frame stutters and such. How do you find it?
Which games do you play and how many fps are you getting?
I hate you so much!
Your PC is pretty much mine..
Is Thermaltake generally well regarded?
You could be mining bitcoins for the next 2-3 months with a rig like that. Both cards running all day = ~.07 btc per day.
