Computer Setup

Couple of questions:
Why not route the CPU power behind the MOBO?
And, assuming you are tech savvy, why put the computer in a place where airflow is impeded, and where it will keep recirculating warm air?
The CPU cable was barely long enough to go the way it is, I tried going behind the motherboard but it wasn't even close, from what I have read this power supply was designed to be placed at the top of the case due to ATX standards even though most people don't do that any more. There wasn't anywhere else to put the computer but it stays pretty cool as long as the door is open. The back is open and about 4 inches from the wall so hot air form the GPU and rear fan escape out behind the desk, other hot air comes out through the top due to the blue LED fan, there is enough room for this air to flow forward or backward and rise away. There are two intake fans on the top and two on the bottom. It stays as cool as can be expected with the coolers I have. I have been running Folding@home for the last 24 hours and the hottest CPU core is at 57 while the GPU gets up to 68 if overclocked. This is similar to the temps seen while gaming but the GPU does get a little hotter on Crysis 3. The CO
PU did get too hot when I tried overclocking to 4.5 GHz but I think that is just because I got a cheap cooler.
Hey!!! I had that same desk!
