Currently nothing amazing. I messed with the API for a while and just started getting into graphics and stuff.
If I were you I would get the Nexus 4 before the Nexus 10. They're clearing them out now, you can find some really good deals, plus the majority of people downloading your app would be on phone sized screens, not tablets
Yea I need to get something phone sized, I would use my phone but motorola drivers are crap and its a pain to work with sometimes. I was waiting to see what I am upgrading my phone to, but I didn't know they are on good sales now, I will have to look into them, thanks.
Whats the best way to get into Android development? I currently have little experience with Java, but I'm interested in learning how to develop for Android. I know Google has a great tutorial section on Android.
I would look up a good textbook and start from chapter one. This will give you a good overview and make you answer questions and give you "Assignments" to work on.
This is how I got into it.
MITX? Not a Bitfenix Prodigy? THANK THE LORD
What's wrong with the Prodigy? Is it just that everyone has one?
That's part of it, plus it's pretty damn large for being what is proclaimed as a "small form factor" chassis. Even they're coming out with an mATX version that isn't any larger in overall size, hell, someone put an eATX board inside of one
Eh. I think it looks nice so it was going to be my case of choice. What would you recommend?
The Node 304 is fantastic. I chose it over the prodigy after having seen them both in person. The prodigy is a great case, it just wasn't for me.
Oh. That is beautiful.
I7-2600 16GB 1600 DDR3 AMD 7950
What's the airflow like? Also have you checked the temps of it? I have a MITX mobo in a NZXT Vulcan and the only thing I'm worried about is packing in such a small box.
Its been awhile since I ran a temp test. But from what I remember when I burned in the thermal grease it never got hot enough for me to worry about it.
Alright cool thanks a lot, but only if you get time for it. Don't feel like ya have to.
Curious to see how it looks inside the case. Care to show some pics?
Very nice! Believe me, I know the pain. I got a Node 304 Case and making sure everything is tidy is hard. I would have gone with silverstone but I liked the option for more hard drives.
Yea I have filled all three slots. 1TB 3.5 WD Black, a 500GB 2.5 WD Blue, and a Corsair 32GB SSD for the Intel Caching.
Thanks for the pics, I was thinking of doing an ITX build in the past, ended up making an itx home server instead. It was a rough learning expierence and couldn't get the ventilation cool enough when I was using it as a gaming comp.
It is a good case. The 600w PSU provides enough power for a good card and all. After this one is obsolete I might not build another ITX. It was a fun build and a good experience, but a complete pain in the ass to manage and upgrade.
I don't think you can win with ITX custom builds, unless you have a bit of money to throw around. I was rocking a 560 ti Classified in mine, and realized i had the intake on the card blocked by my battery backup, burned myself on my non moving, low voltage hard plastic cased SSD if that helps put the internal tempatures into perspective.
Yea I put over 1700 into this including the case and all, thats mainly because the 7950 was bought right when they released >_<
Regrets... I bought a 7970, hate that thing so much.
What did you use for lighting the back of your desk? Just RGB led strips?
It was something I saw someone else do in this coolcomputersetups actually, I bought the Ikea LED Dioder set when I got the desk.
Can you recommend the Nexus 7? Is 7" enough?
I have only had it for a little while, and it's literally only sat in that spot and accepted my applications for debugging. But it seems fast and responsive enough to be a good tablet, I just have not tried many different applications on it.
IMO yes. The iPad mini and the Nexus 7 are my favourite tablets. I find it is the right balance of screen real estate and portability. Drop by a best buy or something and play with one :P
Plus I got my Nexus 7 next day shipped for 228 or somthing like that.
Thanks, but I guess I'll only be using it at home.
So I am thinking about getting either the 10" Galaxy Tab 2 or the Nexus 7".
Can anyone tell me a disadvantage to Mini ITX? I really want one for travel.
Only 2 slots for RAM.
Doesn't sound like much of a problem. Would you recommend it?
If you don't plan on sli or crossfire then yes, though I'd reccomend a closed loop liquid cooler and a card with a blower style fan (there's a 670 that is in a small form factor for these builds) the other drawback is they can be a pain for cable management
