Recently updated my Titan GTX Gaming setup so I figured I'd show it off.
I don't understand why you have two Titans. Is it just to make you're dick hard?
Pretty much. There is no practical purpose.
high five for dual titan club. Although yours don't have the cool glowy logo the ASUS ones have.
That's because I removed the stock coolers and added the EVGA ACX aftermarket ones.
Ohyeah, I guess they do all look pretty much the same don't they? I say the glowy logo looks too cool to take off.
How do you change the color or the corsair cpu cooler? I can't get mine to work.
I find it impressive that you didn't defend yourself over that comment, nice to find honest people online sometimes.
It's your PC but I don't see you ever using one Titan let alone two. Anyways, good build nice and clean.
The way I justified it is that since I have 120hz monitors, fps lower then 120 in games generally gives me a headache. So far the only way to obtain that (with max settings) is the 2 titans, and even games like crysis 3 sometimes say nope.
Didn't realize that but best of luck with you and you power house!
Even with 60Hz refresh rates, playing on high settings with nv surround crushes cards. I have a 20% OC on my 690 and I can't cap FPS on BF3 with 3 1080p monitors.
Buy two 780s, overclock them, and save yourself about 700 dollars. The ACX EVGA cards can hit 1250MHz core, without having to do anything weird to your computer. And it's going to be a while before any game actively uses more than 3GB of VRAM (as opposed to just allocation). By the time that happens, you'll be able to upgrade for a few hundred bucks.
You realize he's running triple 120Hz monitors right? I don't even think 2 Titans can run anything consistently at 120FPS on triple 1080p.
I don't run in surround, not my bag of tea, I like watching streams/reading while I'm in game, so with the exception of poorly coded games and crysis 3, every game maxes out and stays at 120fps. Bf3 sometimes on 64 player servers on 2 different maps will dip to 90 in big battles.
Well of course you'll get over that on 1 monitor, but if you're not even using the other monitors for gaming, why even bother with the 120Hz?
Since I was in the military I have a problem with stuff being dress right dress, or looking all alike. I got a killer deal on the other 2 and I quite enjoyed them all matching. As well, I've been on 120hz for so long that monitors that I do stuff on actively can give me headaches if they are not 120hz, that's why my streaming monitor (the right one) is my 60hz (you can't have triple 120hz on desktop mode for 3 monitors, only 2). A waste of money? Probably, but it fixes my addiction. Now I just have to convince my wife that I really do need the BenQ 24" 120hzx3 :>
I don't have two titans but I did just pull the trigger on my second 780 so I feel somewhat qualified to answer this question.
God dammit, that RAM is still the sexiest RAM on the market IMO, but it cost soooo much money.
I've tried to replace it many times but I can never find something better for what I do. I love it :)
What do you mean? For overclocking? Aesthetics?
For wasting money and overpaying of course!
Sort of. I already bought 2 titans at launch. Most would agree that was a waste of money.
Its not a waste if you can afford it and dont need the money for something more important.
I really want a set of dominators, but $500 for 32GB's...what the fuck.
Don't think you really need that much for gaming. I think it's finally starting to get to the point where 16gb is ok, but unless you are doing crazy stuff 8gb is still king to me.
Oh yeah, I know. I'm just using that as an example.
Two Titans and only 8gb of ram? I know 8gb is adequate, but even I have 20gb on my 2 year old i7 machine. It's pretty cheap to come by.
Maybe one day, don't see a need now. Haswel can be tricky with ram for overclocking as high as I do.
That is a sexy setup
That's some nice cable management right there!
Are those dual Titans able to push over 100fps on Surround? Which games do you like specifically?
You're going to call me dumb when I tell you this but, I don't run in surround. I think the idea is cool, but the interface is shotty at best. I'll explain. So normally I game on the middle monitor with a stream up on my right monitor and something to read on the left. The surround doesn't have "true" maximize so the windows are basically maximized but still show the border, that annoys me.
LIke I explained to larson, I don't like surround, primarily because I have certain things I like to have up while gaming like streams, or something to read. With that being said, obviously my 2 Titans in most cases are overkill for a single monitor 1080p gaming, but I like to have maxed settings and run at 120fps to match my hz (one reason why I don't think I would go to 144hz, it can be difficult to get 120 fps constant in some games, crysis 3 mainly, with maxed settings).
You spent more on GPUs than I did on my whole X79 system. Congratulations. (note to self, acquire money)
It was kind of an ode to myself since when I was younger I was pretty poor and played games on a potato.
That setup literally gave me a hard on.
That is one hell of a beast sir.
Woof this looks so good!
My pc can't even pull 1/8th of this power :c
What desk chair is that it looks awesome and fits the color scheme on my desk too.
You are correct, I actually purchased it because I seen them at so many tournaments so I figured the quality must be good and it's the best chair I've ever owned thankfully.
Which model is it exactly? I haven't seen the one you have on any of the sites that carry them.
Awesome. I have been looking at Need for Seat. Is yours one of the all leather ones?
Also, Is it possible to remove the armrests? I don't really like having them on the chairs I use.
There are bolts down there, so I'm assuming yes. When I got mine the arms were pre installed.
It's a dxracer from a european company. It's what they use for eSports tournaments.
THIS IS WHERE ITS AT
Wow, the lack of LEDs in the case make it look way nicer.
I've actually contemplated on getting a few accent lights (my last mobo had a big asus logo that glowed red along with my hsf and I thought it looked really nice) to lighten up the case a little bit, it looks very dark to me, but maybe because I've been accustomed to the latter for so long.
Maybe some subtle lighting from a fan may work.
Well now I don't feel so bad about the lighting, ty :)
One controls my shitty Logitech speakers (shitty looking actually, they sound just fine).
What to be friends irl?
Do you like your Gunnars? Because I like mine.
I do, I don't wear them as much as I should, but I got them on ebay for 20$ on a steal (gunnar scope) so I figured why not pick up a pair.
I'm in the same boat. I like them, and I should wear them more often than I do... I also got them for pretty cheap with an employee discount, so I'm not complaining.
How are you finding the 2013 edition Astro A40's? I was thinking of getting a pair, but some of the reviews I've seen aren't that great.
I exclusively used razer products until I got the tiamat 7.1, absolutely disappointed. So far, I love them. The only issue I had was with the mic when I first got them, but there was a firmware update that fixed it. As well, unlike my other mics, I actually had to turn the mic boost down considerably. Before I figured that out I was pretty pissed at the mic quality. All in all, if you want a studio quality mic, get a standalone, but as far as a headset combo, I love them and unless someone let me try another pair out and I found them better, I'll never buy anything else.
Are you selling the old GTX cards? I could use an upgrade!
Already sold them sorry, only thing I have left is a 2600k cpu.
How much did this cost? Probably like, $4000 or something.
With everything I use, pc/monitors/peripherals/chair ~5700$
YAY, someone with 2 Titans and not a cheap $/£/€10 Keyboard and mouse! Although you have just bought Razer products. Not bashing them or anything I had my Lycosa for 8 months now it's seconds hand and my mate had it for 2 years so they do last! I'm personally a Logitech fanboy I'm sad I know. :(
