Computer Setup

I was using a three monitor setup for a while now, but it wasn't enough. I'm a multi-unit general manager. When I am in my home office I have full time surveillance of multiple locations. If I was multitasking in excel, chrome, VLC, etc - the stores would be covered with the maximized program I was working in. 6 screens allows me to keep my eyes open to all situations while letting me complete my work with with full efficiency.
Thank you. I hate it when people post their super powered rigs and never say why they need them, that's half the interest!
Thanks! The two carded setup is as follows:
Nice set over all :D
Can you tell us about the surveillance setup? What hardware/software are you using?
I have a few different remote view applications running. A Dairy Queen and a Froyo World using Geovision. Then I have three Dunkin' Donuts using March Systems. The Dunkin' Donuts also have IP cameras mixed in to the setup. For example Axis 3004v and 3005v. There is also a Mobotix Q24 running in our highest volume location recording straight to a NAS. Then there is also my home system using Logitech Alert.
Thanks. Those Mobotix cameras are great. We had one of the dome ones a few years ago. A little pricy but very flexible.
You might be able to reduce the gap between the two rows by flipping the top upside down so that the buttons are on the top.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try to play with it and see what happens.
Np, I have a similar setup, but with only five monitors. I'm pretty sure we have the same stand as well judging by the base.
This is the one I ordered. Way cheaper, but yours looks more adjustable.
Silly question maybe but what is the best way to get multiple monitors up and running? I know you can buy a Matrox Triplehead2Go, but is that the best way? Or are there other ways?
Why not get 6 matching monitors? I current have a 3x1 +1 setup and plan to add 2 more and have a 3x2. I feel like that would drive me nuts
Monitors aren't cheap. I had the hp 23bw's first and they didn't have a rear mounting option. I wasn't about to buy 3 more if I can't elevate the top three. I wasn't about to buy 6 brand new monitors neither after purchasing the second video card. Minor annoyance, but the overall end result I am happy with, it gets the job done.
As long as you have a reason. It looks great regardless!
Damn. That is gorgeous. Congratulations!
Mind if I ask what model desk that is and where ya got it? Nice setup btw!
I don't remember the model but it's from IKEA.
We wants it! gives it to us!
Where does one find pictures so large?
I'm just wondering why you have 2 nice video cards, 6 monitors, headphone amp, and probably a good overall setup, yet you have a crappy hp keyboard and generic mouse. Or am I missing something?
For me it's simple and does everything I need it to do. Connectivity wise, I personally prefer wired over wireless. I've looked at different keyboards and mice online but I just never liked one enough to spend money on it. I'm open to recommendations.
You use it for work so I would recommend a mechanical keyboard. Check out r/Mechanicalkeyboards. They are great for typing and nice for gaming. If you like flashy with backlighting, I would recommend the corsair k70 or k90.i have the k70 black edition. Look into the DasKeyboard, ducky, or majestouch, if you would like something that isn't flashy but high quality. Would clean up the look of your system a whole lot and you would probably be a lot happier using a good keyboard.
Sigh... there are quite a few keyboard snobs here on Coolcomputersetups.
You do know that there are mechanical keyboard with multimedia keys, printed keys and backlight. Right?
