Did you recently buy the XB? If so, have they fixed the issues with the hotswap bays frying drives yet? If not, how did you fix them?
I got it around March and it hasn't had any issue with the hotswap bays
Alright, last question. Think you could still stick a 200mm fan over that 212 in there with the stock top? Im pretty deadset on this being my case when I can afford a new rig.
The reason I bought the window was because I didn't want to risk the cooler being too tall for a fan in there. IIRC there are some slim 200mm fans that will leave more than enough clearance for the 212. That being said, you will NEED to replace the front fans, as the 120mm that comes with the case make it sound like a jet plane. With 2 140mm at the front you will have more than enough airflow that the 200mm at the top won't be necessary for good cooling. I have CPU and GPU OC and neither are remotely close to being too hot.
Already plan on replacing the two front with 140s, the back with whatever LED I decide on and then two 80s on the bottom as well. I want my rig to be nice and cold though, so Im toying with forgoing a 200mm on top and sticking a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro in it also, the other reason is Im a fan of neat clutter so the more taken space the better.
If you haven't bought the 80mm I'd forgo those as well. The case is very compartmentalized so those are really only if you wanna cool the SSD rack on the bottom. They will be meaningless for cooling the top section and will only add noise. I was thinking about doing that as well just to fill every fan mount, but I'd recommend against it. No real value to adding those in.
My folks have hearing loss so noise pollution isnt a concern for me, yet. But being in the south with a shittily insulated room that will also be where its stuck, even if it lowers by two or three degrees its worth it. Thats at least my mindset for it.
I say go for it then. I HIGHLY recommend the case. Great size, great looks, and I love the form factor.
