Beautiful design, I love the idea of having the desktop behind and the speakers up top. If I could add anything I would probably add some more support and drawer space!
I have drawers on the side, so I do not need them in this build. I am interested about the support. I believe it will be stable enough, but please tell me your suggestion. Or did you had anything else in mind?
I'm not a woodworking export by far, so I cannot give specifics as to what materials to use. To me, your desk design looks great support-wise. Nice job!
This is why the monitor stands will be mounted on the vertical desk rather than a beam. The desk will not be able to bend like the beam would. (Wild theory)
I really do not like pull out drawers. I use to rest my elbows on the table, rather than chair and I am used to it that way. Thanks for the input.
I have the setup that is on the first image and I am going to buy the 3rd monitor. I am not satisfied with the table, that I have now. It is working so far, but it is wobbling around and is not solid. I am quite handy with tools and stuff so I will be building it by myself in about 2 weeks. I am quite sure this is a final blueprint, but I am open to any ideas. If you want I can submit the 3d file (Sketch Up). Thanks guys. I will post the building process after the build is finished.
I think the sketch looks great. I may look into using thicker posts for the desk. Are those 2"X2" that you have in the sketch? Maybe look into 4"X4" just for the posts. But, that may be overbuilding and you may be fine with what you have in your sketch. I went a little overboard when building my desk so I could be way off. But overall I really like the design.
Those wood beams are 44mm x 44mm. Really similar to 2" x 2".Should be enough according to my calculations and experience, but I will look into it. Thanks.
Please build that! Would love to see it in action.
