I think maybe you should get a Ikea shelf with legs and put your computer on that.
Thanks for the tip mate. Will look into that in the morning.
I would get that off the carpet because if static and the heat will build up
Yah that was the first thing I thought when I saw it on the ground XD
It is a built in study nook in my apartment. I find that I have always preferred large flat surfaces to work on. This and the data points everywhere were a major selling point for me when looking at this place.
Noted. I am looking at mounting options.
Really nice setup! Are those Audioengine A2?
You know it. The sound is amazing, I have listened to all my favorite songs on them and it's like I am hearing them for the first time again.
I just got a pair of A5+ and I can't believe how good they sound! I'm surprised Audioengine isn't bigger or more popular than it is.
I was going A5+ but I just felt that it may be a bit overboard for a small room. I have absolutely no regrets, might still get the A5+ for the lounge room. Do you use yours in a large room?
In my bedroom which is not really big... It's kind of an overkill but whatever, I don't regret it!
I want to hug you now.
Some of their speakers are overpriced. The Micca mb42x w/ a $20 amp would destroy the A2s. However their other audio stuff is nice.
I'm impressed how much you crammed in there. I don't have near as much in my Prodigy and it was still one of the most agitating experiences working in that tiny enclosure. Any time you want to change anything you have to remove the video card and/or remove parts of the case.
Yeah but I built this exactly for that reason. I love fiddly things. I was building a full ATX machine in a huge Thermaltake case but the second I saw this case I put the big one aside to build my prodigy.
Haha... I'm doing the exact opposite. Got sick of messing with the tiny case and have a new (sexy) full size ATX case, partly cuz I want SLI again.
Have you ever thought about a Corsair 350D, best of both worlds in my opinion. I went from a Corsair 800D to my Lian Li PC-V354B but am considering the 350D for something easier to work in while still being small with good airflow.
I almost went mATX but I figured as long as I would upgrade I'd go all the way. But the 350D was one of the ones I was looking at for a while.
I would have gone with this one if not the 900D.
Fair enough. I have one of those coming, just need time to build up the funds again.
Holy shit i thought you were using the term watercooled for a CLC system. Can't believe you fit all of that in there.
It is an awesomely adaptable case, just rip the HDD and Optical racks out and there is about an iPad worth of room on the floor and more than an iPad in height. Plenty of room to get creative.
I want to say I've seen a build where the guy also added his GPU into the loop in one of those cases. It doesnt appear Damn_Oatesy has but there appears to be room to link it in even with all the stuff in it now.
That is true, I have also seen a bloke mount 3 240mm Radiators in it. I was going to water cool the GPU but it turns out the Gigabyte GTX760 doesn't have a block. Will probably swap it out later.
One on the top and one in the front or something? I haven't really looked at the Prodigy cause I want a full board.
Front, top and outside rear. If you only need one expansion card (graphics) and max 16gb ram the mini ITX boards will compete with whatever else you want to build.
Well... You're axing a whole lot of other features, too. For me the most notable one would be power delivery. The batshit-crazy engineers at ASUS seem to have that down to a tee with their daughterboards, though.
So, you went for a hulk colorscheme? that's rather... brave. but looks great! would love a more "overview" pic of the guts... op pls?
Love the case, my brother is dead set on getting the blue prodigy and there is just no way i would ever even want to talk him out of it because those things are damn sexy for the size. However i would like to know, where did you get the cable sleeves, tubing, other watery bits, etc. and would you recommend them?
Exactly what i was looking for, thanks!
Obligatory dont keep computer on floor bla bla comment. No one said it in here that I saw I was impressed. So many times I see people arguing over it.
I got it twice. I plan to mount it and a larger PC under the desk later, preferably both towards the back if legroom allows.
I just find it funny how anal people can be about this subject and computers. I missed it, I'll have to look for the comment. One time this person was going on and on like 10 posts about how they needed to keep the computer off the floor. Sometimes you just don't have room for that.
And of all the cases the Prodigy already is elevated far more than most PC cases off the ground.
IMO I don't see it as a huge issue in this setup.
Apologies for the potato camera, the missus has the DSLR in another country. ¯\(ツ)/¯
"So much room for activities!"
What are the specs? How do you like the Bitfenix Prodigy?
Can we get these with prices listed?
Not much point because I had to pay Austalian prices. But it was close to AUD$4000 with all the new peripherals as well.
LG Flatron E2360. I will be honest I bought them ages ago for about AUD$160.00 each. They are pretty good but aren't really up to the gaming standard I want. But hey, thin bezels and they match.
At very least they look great on your desk, they match up with the keyboard quite nicely too.
I would really like to say that it was by design but I really just fluked it
Do you game just on one monitor, or do you use some sort ultrawidescreen on both?
Thanks mate, I game just on one monitor, the beauty of this desk is that I can just slide the keyboard and chair to the left and I am centered with the screen I game on. I wanted to go with three screens but I can't find any more of the screens I already have and I think I might have a little OCD.
Those cable gutters are VERY practical aren't they, they fit an insane amount of cables, even our network splitter is hanging in there :) Reminds me to post a setup from the setup my gf and I've done.
Loving it. 2 power boards, 1 switch, 1 airport, a ton of cables and a second PC worth to come and no dramas.
Yep. Even forgot about that, it holds the gigantic 12 plug power board too. Pics of our stations are up as well now :)
Is that fan controller to control the watercooling? What do you do about the rare occasion you need an optical drive?
Yep, the Mobo can only handle two fans and I have three, also there is no noticeable difference in the temps with the fans running at 1/2 speed compared to full speed so it is useful for keeping it quiet. Needed an optical drive once for the OS install, just used a handy external USB one.
There is a window for the prodigy, but it's meant for the graphics card side so might no show much if you put in on the cpu/psu side
I have one ordered, it will fit on both sides but obviously will be too low on the CPU side so I plan to cut a larger window into it and fit a piece of acrylic. My main concern is the paint because I am not sure I can match the paint job.
That is awesome. I was going to mount custom buttons on the back or top.
Didn't have time to watch it (at work) have tagged it to watch later. Thank you.
What have you got in the optical drive slot?
Bitfenix Recon. 5 channel touch screen fan controller that can also be controlled by an app on your smart phone. Pretty good buy.
Sounds good I'm gonna start a prodigy build in the new year, didnt want to put a optical drive in it so now I know whats going in there!
I originally went with nothing and quite liked it but I needed the fan controller anyway.
Fellow Prodigy owner here. Info on the top fans?
Corsair SP120 quiet editions. Those and the AF140 blowing in from the back keep the cpu under 50 Celsius at full load.
They're sucking out, right? And how do they fit in that opening?
That is right, the air is pushed in from the back and out through the top. No problem fitting in this configuration so long as you remove the ODD tray. I plan to move the Rad to the outside of the case which will require a little cutting.
I've been looking into getting a prodigy m. I noticed a lot of people use it as their LAN/Gaming system. I would however use mine as my main desktop computer, do you think its reasonable with this case or should I just go with a normal ATX midtower? Would just appreciate an opinion, thanks :)
It is my main machine at the moment but I can still take it to a LAN, it out performs anything I have built to date by a long shot. The only downfall is the single expansion slot but most people don't use more than a single graphics card anyway. But if you do check out the Bitfenix site, they have a similar case that can handle a slightly larger board.
Thanks for the reply, appreciate it!
How's the prodigy? I'm considering using in an upcoming build for a) its looks and b) its portability. I know it looks great, but how is it for moving around? Are those handles as good as they seem?
I've got the orange one, and the handles are... bendy. Not so much that you can't carry the rig around by the handles, but they do have a bit of flex in them.
I am a bit nervous about lifting the full weight of the case on them, with all the water in it the build is surprisingly heavy.
Will that case fit large video cards such as a GTX 770 or 780?
What is the name of your case again?
Specs on the machine, Im looking to build one myself. I like the way that looks.
Hello fellow Australian! What's there in the parcel? ;)
G'day champ, grommets. 9 cheap grommets from eBay. Love that site.
How long do you think it'll stay like that?
I estimate for a week.
Man, the only thing that i dislike about water cooling a prodigy is the fans on the outside :/. how noisy is it in this setup?
I can't hear it unless it is on the desk next to my head. And thank you.
Bitfenix Recon if you mean the one in the case. (Touchscreen fan controller)
"hole saw" like a drill?
So a drill? There hasn't been some new device that I've missed
Coolcomputersetups page 1 and 2, I say your addicted.
Not sure what you mean but thanks I guess.
Both your monitors are displaying Coolcomputersetups.
What's this case I keep seeing everywhere. I want it.
Bitfenix Prodigy. They have 2 versions in many colours.
I greatly dislike putting a tower on the floor. Way too much can go wrong with it sitting there, like spills getting to it.
