Your school gave you a Macbook? Dang all I got were bad experiences.
Med school gives me an iPad, but I had to buy my own macbook. I'm assuming OP isn't an undergrad if they're getting a free macbook.
I'm in highschool, and yeah in my school they give the middle schoolers iPads and the high schoolers MacBook airs.
Private school I assume?

The regular macbook pro specs (late 2011), but i bumped up the RAM to 8GB, and for the rest of the set up....the monitor is U2410W 24 inch IPS Monitor, and i have the razer death adder, Altec Lansing 5.1 surround sound speakers, the razer electra, the macbook air (regular specs), and an iPad mini in white.
