Computer Setup

In all likelyhood, an SSD is far better at withstanding a beating. Especially if you meant that literally, a HDD's moving parts making it much more susceptible to damage, while a SSD has absolutely no moving parts.
Understood. Ive done many hours or research. The main difference, is that HDD can be replaced with 80 dollars, whereas an SDD can be replaced with 300. :)
Honestly, if it just dies you shouldn't be spending ANY money to replace it. Just RMA it with the manufacturer for a new one.
It died within 4 months of installing it, so there wasnt much valuable data on it. I have not qualms about what happened, its just a shame it did.
Of course. I completely understand. That isn't what you said, though. Ability to be replaced =/= ability to withstand a beating.
I see where there was some confusion. My apologies.
Sure, not a problem. Also, awesome rig. Any plans to water cool or overclock?
Im not looking to overclock any time soon. I may throw a sealed water system in there, but its a tad small to make a whole system myself. If I ever make a larger rig or even a wall mount comp, I'd defiantly make a system for myself.
This is exactly what I'm looking to do
If you have any questions at all, any suggestions, drop a comment.
That fan is sexy and all, but why did you have to jizz on it?
Hahahahaha. It was the reflection from the shiny label. I don't find it THAT sexy.
What monitor, keyboard and mouse combo do you play on?
I have an Asus monitor, the basic Alienware keyboard they give you with all desktops (my friend gave it to me),and the E-3lue Cobra. The mouse was cheap, the keyboard free, and the monitor fast and future proof. It works well for living in a dorm, and suits my need perfectly.
I'd recommend a mechanical keyboard instead of the deathstalker for your next keyboard. It has chiclet keys and they aren't all that durable. Trust me, for 80$ you can get something a lot better. Mechanical keys are like heaven for you fingertips.
Is that power supply modular? Just wondering because I'm thinking about going for this case but is it easy to work with a modular PSU?
I've heard the Prodigy has problems with modular power supplies due to the plastic connectors on each cable being too large to fit in the little PSU compartment
It is a tad mass. I had a few issues just clipping in the connectors just because its a small case and I have big hands. Just use this guy as a reference point. I feel as though I have maxed out my case (I could possibly put a few more hard drives in). If you are looking for a larger modular power supply, I would consider a larger case.
Hey man, I'm having the same situation, where I live in a dorm and move around too much, noting that I live overseas. I wanted to ask you, how heavy is it. Could you give me a slight estimate! I really like it, cheers.
I've got the same case. Weighs about 10-15kg I think.
Why the gtx 680? Edit: Unless it's an older rig, then I understand.
That is exactly the case that I want. I almost buy it every time I go to my computers store...how was it putting it all together
Very nice, but where's the gaming setup?
It was a good choice. No regrets.
