Computer Setup

At least put the computer on a piece of wood or something.
Gunna have to agree with this.
In the process of building a stand for it. I dust it out every week though to ensure that the dust from sitting on the floor doesn't get out of hand.
Dust isn't what you should be concerned about when having a PC on the carpet.
Potentially that but if your PSU has the fan facing downward and it is on carpet it will have no air to suck and basically suffocate and you can guess what will happen then. Dust should be the least of concerns.
My power supply doesn't have a downward facing fan. Is that the only reason? I've really only heard concerns about dust and static before.
Yeah dust can be pretty bad on carpet, but you are also at risk of static I believe. I know that you're planning on building a platform so you'll be fine :)
Well since your name is "HelpfulToAll" you should've just given op a non-speculative answer instead of being an asshole...
Why does everyone say this? Are there vents on the bottom of the computer or something?
Not sure. It never seems that dusty, but I've been told it's a must if your computer is going to sit on the floor.
I just don't see how raising it up a half inch changes that though.
Thats a kick ass UNSC poster!
Pretty sure its a Galant desk top and circular legs from Ikea. I have a similar set up [but with a shelf and square legs]. I'll try to find a link to the items.
It's the VIKA AMON table top, and the legs are the VIKA CURRY legs.
Hmm, I actually bought the table in AZ, but it was a while back. Maybe they stopped carrying it?
No it's just called linmon now with Adils legs
Are those portal 2 coasters? that's awesome!
Wow, where did you get that Bioshock Infinite poster?
In case you didn't know, I think I may have an idea as to why most PC gamers HATE Alienware. 1. I'd say about 98% of people on this, or just about any PC-related coolcomputersetups are very DIY-oriented (myself included), and have custom machines that they poured their heart, soul and wallets into. With this being said, buying an Alienware goes against spending the time constructing a console-killer that one would find special, since it's basically like a PC that you could have purchased from Walmart, only fancier. I myself don't really care. At any rate, welcome to the master race!
Audiotechnica and kitty cats. Got it.
YES! Add cats to the setup. For maximum credit, place a cat on top of the tower, a cat on the keyboard, and another cat just kinda like walking around.
That makes me sad. I use a Razer keyboard/mouse combo, and I absolutely love them. Huge step up from what I had, I got the mouse as a gift, and the keyboard is such a performance increase...Of course I also like chiclet keys more than tall mechanical keys so...there is that.
The hate for alienware is more about the dollar value of the products. as a present, its still awesome.
This post has been up for four hours and no comment on Alienware. Impressive.
How did you mount the minecraft pickaxe.
I used two clear push-pins. I pushed them into the wall and then the pickaxe just sits on top of them.
Ah, Okay, looks alot better than my method.
Yup, reflects in the light and looks weird.
That keyboard looks amazing, love the green keys.
Does that desk with those legs not wobble like hell? I have a different top (slightly shorter) but same legs and my desk wobbles. It's a little bit better up against a wall but you end up rubbing cables into the wall I find.
Is that a marcus bobblehead?
