Still have my existing gaming PC desk and monitors. Added a pair Bowers and Wilkins 684 and a Marantz SR-6008 reciever. Couldnt be happier...for now

Nice towers, but terrible positionning.
I dont use them for gaming I use a headset. I listen to them when im in bed. Theres not much room to position them optimally but I placed them the best I could.
I assumed they were for your bed, they are just a little low is all.
If he's gaming on them. If it's just to play some music in the room, it doesn't matter much where they are. I guess he probably would've just put the closest tower on the other side of his desk if he wanted the for gaming. Who knows.
