For a second I almost thought the macbook on the left was an old toilet seat iBook.
Hahaha i see what you're saying - naw, it's a unibody macbook with a speck case - the panorama effect does give it that toilet seat look though haha
If you don't mind me asking, does it pay good? and what kind of schooling did you take to get this job?
Yes, i would say it pays good - the best part is i get all the breaks (summer, winter, mid-winter, spring) as well as all the school-related holidays off, PAID. getting paid salary and only working 190 days (normally, it's 250 working days) is really nice =)
Nice, could you give me some info on the certs you have or where i can find out about them? thx alot for answering!
Wow thx alot i really appreciate the info!
We have the same job except my district is poor. I work over the breaks (if you call sitting around working) and am on hourly. We still work with Dell GX620's. Soon to be getting a Tech Bond though.
The picture of the macs gives me horrible flashbacks. My first IT job was a tech at a school district. Because I had linux experience, I was "gifted" with responsibility for all of the apple devices alongside regular helpdesk/server/switch management. I had to integrate the Macs into the AD domain and then setup a MDM system for 200 iPads. It was not the most pleasant of experiences. The image of apple configurator still haunts me to this day.
Story of my life right now
IPad management or joining Macs to the AD domain?
Both - our district is currently in the 1:1 program for the high school and middle school: each student gets their own ipad, managed via MDM solution (MaaS360) and all macs in our district are binded to the AD directory =P
I looked at MaaS360, but ended up going with Airwatch as it seemed to fit the district's needs better (and was cheaper). The district I worked for didn't have a 1:1 program however-I'm assuming you have many more then 200 iPads to work with. I partially remember the workflow-create apple IDs, apply backup image from configurator to iPads, install baseline of apps (which was fun since every teacher had a different set of apps-the iPads were not managed when I started working there!), apply MDM profile, pray configurator applied everything correctly, fill out details in Airwatch. With a max of 10 devices at a time via a sync cart.
Just how much access do you have to the students account?
