Haha seems a little over kill for those little speakers
Haha, They are surprisingly loud and crisp though and if they fail headphones it is.
What speakers are those if you don't mind me asking?
Edifier Prisma and of course I don't mind. :)
Does those foam squares on the wall actually do anything? or is it for decoration? (genuinely curious)
They help the prevention of early reflection of sound from the wall. It also seems to help from my experience to keep the bass from bulking up in the corners, which I noticed while attaching them (it might be placebo though). It also serves a decorative purpose because if I wanted maximum effectiveness they would just be placed as a massive square behind my laptop which would look ugly, so I went with this. (I hope that no audio engineer is going to kill me over this).
With speakers that small it's definitely placebo.
There is a subwoofer under the desk if that matters.
That changes it somewhat, but the bass port on the speakers on the desk isn't going to be moving much air at all, so your foam pads are more for aesthetic. But hey, they look cool :)
There's definitely too little for there to be any effect other than placebo. What you can do is decorate with posters, tapestry, anything that isn't hard, flat wall.
I love the sound deadening foam
There's too little to be useful.
I was more commenting on his creative design. Also, I don't think those speakers really need any deadening....
Most people get them for preventing echos in recording. OP has a good quality mic on his desk.
Martin Garrix on the wallpaper? Nice setup, looks clean.
Yup and Rob Swire as a bit of a stupid inside joke that barely makes sense.
