Words cannot describe how jealous I am of your place. I <3 lofts and yours is...... well... perfect.
Simply..... Amazing! You're living the dream brother.
I see you are a very successful camera. Congratulations.
I thought you were a pretty good camera too :P
Well I laughed harder at this than I have anything on coolcomputersetups. Thank you sir.
Sorry that not all the pictures pertain to PC setups, this gallery was originally created to show my minimalist lifestyle, but hopefully you guys can still appreciate it!
If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living and is a loft like that expensive?
I am very interested in your line of work, and am currently taking a digital art class at my high school. Any tips or suggestions on your line of work and what steps I should take?
Learn traditional art skills, you don't have to master drawing in general, but the skills that go into making good art are vital.
Wow that's some good advice. If you have anymore please do share :).
I feel like I've seen you around somewhere before... I just can't place it anymore specifically than Coolcomputersetups...
Hey! Good to see you again! :)
Nice loft man. Is the rent pricey?
Of course it is, people. holy shit. he's taking pictures with like a $6k camera. His desk chair alone likely cost more than my first three cars combined.
Out of my range :/
Looks about $1895 +/-
SB Manhattan
Actually not a bad price considering the square footage and the location.
Looks like the white Corsair 600t, at least from this angle.
Corsair 600T White Edition. Great case, have one myself.
It's from corsair, not sure which one. I bought the machine from Digital Storm.
All things considered Digital Storm has some pretty good pricing. I "rebuilt" my computer on their website and the prices are almost the same they might make a few hundred bucks off of you.
Indeed which is why this is the first time I had a company build my machine rather than do it myself. When I built the same computer on newegg it was only $50 cheaper. But I didn't want to mess with water cooling or overclocking which they did and I get a warranty on the build as well as each individual component. So worth it!
Have the same machine from Digital Storm and love it! Again, would have paid ALMOST the same to build it myself!
I laughed at the last picture... you can see the camera in the mirror being positioned towards the shitter.
Yes, yes you can. :)
There's just something about a loft that i really like. open layouts are cool. very bachelor-esque.
I like everything about this post except for the mw3 poster. I hated that game.
Haha well that game helped pay for some of the things you see. I worked on MW3! :)
Do you work for sledgehammer games?
I used to run a long HDMI cable to my TV but I didn't like leaving my machine on for long periods of time so I installed a mini brix PC behind my TV.
I honestly really liked the enviroment in that game. If only the graphical engine could show it off better.
That's awesome! I love the art on the wall and the separate setup for retro gaming. Does the lack of curtains not bother you, though?
Nah, I don't need curtains. This is LA, people are pretty free around here. I routinely see my neighbors in their underwear/naked as well as they see me. It's like Hitchcock's Rear Window accept sexier! haha
What do you do for a living?
I'm a 3D artist in the video game industry. :)
And I'm no where near rich!
Yeah... You say that, but....
Oh man. Where'd you pick up that Neo Geo MVS cab? That's a pretty awesome find. What carts do you have for it?
Extremely jealous of your place. Good job!
The story goes that after getting my first job out of college I decided to treat myself and buy something that every boy has always wanted. A NEO GEO AES! :) So I did and then realized how rediculous the games where still but came across the MSV to AES converter. Bought that and started collecting MVS games and stumbled upon a random arcade dealer online that was selling the mini cab for 450, I jumped at it when I did a bit of research and saw how rare they were. Now I have both! It's the best!
I have to ask about the chair, what is it and where did you get it? I love this setup man!
Wow, most times I hear mw3 mentioned, it's about how awful it was. I guess you are the minority when it comes to the opinion on that game.
As I said above, I have a certain affinity for that game being that I worked on it. :)
What parts did you work on? I had some issues with it, but I also like many parts!
Ah so you worked on the single player. Seeing that I never played that your all good in my book!
Seeing this type of stuff is what really motivates me through college. So often when I'm struggling through piles of homework, and I think of being able to set up my own place like this and that keeps me going. Thanks for being an inspiration, man. (And congrats on the completely sweet loft :3 )
I've been there man! All the way through grad school! Keep it up!
Thanks! Computer science major here, honestly can't wait to get out in the field... luckily I don't need grad school to start haha.
I don't like minimalism, but I do like everything in there that is technology. Nice setup.
That arcade machine is a beauty
Love it, I want something just like this! Is your electric bill high because of the arcade games? How much juice do they use anyway?
I'm from FL and used to having to run the AC in the summer months constantly jacking my bill up over 200 a month. My electric bill here in LA never breaks 70. It's amazing!
Oh wow, that's crazy cheap! Glad you got a good price on it now, totally jealous of your setup haha
What part of LA? Im interested in getting a loft like this in LA. Great place btw!
That is a pretty sick setup, congrats and enjoy. I'm sure you've worked hard for it. Also nice 600T, use to have one just like it but switched to the 540 air.
Oh my god, I'm obsessed with this setup. So nice.
Possibly the best picture in the whole post ... excellent taste and layout good sir.
What kind of desk is that? I would love something like that!
Sadly it's an IKEA Galant... BUT it's one of the few quality things they make.
It's always an IKEA gallant.
Is there a section for stuff like this other than gaming setups? I like seeing peoples houses/apartments rather than just their computers.
Yea, r/malelivingspace will love this.
I simultaneously love this and am depressed that I'll never be able to afford anything like it.
That's the beauty of this man! It's really not that expensive! The furniture is rather cheap and I've spent years collecting my electronics in some cases buying old arcades and fixing them up to look shiny and new. You can do it!
I wouldn't mind getting an old arcade and fixing it up for my husband. Other than craigslist, where's a good place to look?
Would also like to know this, OP. Please notify me if you answer this.
Beautiful place and setup man.
I'm totally not jealous, not one bit.
Are these lofts in Oakland perhaps? I love the layout!
Can we switch lives plz.
Can i just say you have one of the best looking resumes ive ever seen
Thanks! Are you referring to it's actual content, it's design or both? :)
Just wondering. how old are you? This is like a dream setup and hopefully something like this is attainable for me in mid/late 20's!
I'll be 32 in March, but I've lived in this space for 3 years.
That last picture freaked me out for a bit.
Not sure if minimalistic but its pretty cool.
I see more and more people doing full house/ appt showcases with full technology integration like this and I think it's nice! It's interesting to see people's entire houses with their servers and home theatre and also their computer setup. I think this should happen more often for sure. By the way, super nice place OP!
10/10 would bang that loft.
I would kill for a place like this...
I love the industrial look and stripped wall/ceiling. Gaming setup is ok also...
Dude, your place is amazing! Thank you, for motivating me through my studies :)
Minimalists apparently use a tripod and a DSLR to take pictures
Very nice! Couple questions; What chair is that at your desk? Also, why do you say that MW3 is the best COD so far? What makes it better than BO2, or Ghosts? I'm just asking because I wanted to buy one and I've only played BO2.
EDIT: Ah, nevermind the first question, I saw the chair linked in the credits.
I don't see why this would ever be considered a minimalist living space. That said, I love it.
I usually only lurk on this sub, but you really have probably the nicest apartment I've seen here. Really impressive.
