Computer Setup

Well Asus doesn't offer most of those products on it's ROG line, except the SSD. They have cases but only for prebuilts.
Yeah! That SSD they offer, a bit out of my price range! I bet that thing is amazing though! :)
All reviews I've read say it's pretty disappointing. Even though pci should make it faster, the lack of support for pci ssd controllers makes it slower than high end sata ones, and apparently some people can't even get their OS to boot from it, although some have so apparently it either varies from system to system or is just really difficult to do.
Oh wow! That stinks! I'm pretty happy with the Neutron, it's blazing fast! Fast enough, for me anyways :)
I was dissapointed by the reviews for the ROG SSD, I thought it would be stupidly fast but it's actually middle of the range for highend SSDs...
To be fair, ASUS doesn't offer a wide variety of components. Motherboards and GPUs are what they're most known for. I may add one of their sound cards in the future, but the onboard audio is very good!
Something to consider for even more colour coordination.
Yeah! Just bought those for my girlfriend's computer! They're nice, but I really loved the Dominator Platinums. You can remove the heat sink and I may get brave one day and air brush them red.
There much visible ASUS branding on the card, but that is indeed a ASUS GTX 780, two of them in fact :) In the Imgur album, you can see the boxes.
Took roughly a full month to complete the build! Very pleased with the final result though! Been dreaming of something like this for a while now!
Approx cost? I might have to copy this. So beautiful.
Roughly $3,500. I got some pretty sick deals at a local retailer. They work off commission, so I was able to talk them down on a few items.
A bit high on the price, but if you got a majority of it at a local retailer then it might be worth the extra $200 or so to have the peace of mind should something fail.
No doubt I could have gotten it cheaper online, I'm very impatient though :)
Great post! But all I keep getting is the excessive! amounts of! exclamation marks!
Hey, in my defense, I was very excited :)
All i can think of is the dust building up in there
So far so good! :)
Why did you go with dual 780's instead of one 780ti or titan?
Well...from what I've seen (and I could be wrong) 2 780s out perform a single 780ti and Titan in most situations. To be quite honest, either way, the price difference wasn't much and I really loved the look of the duel SLI setup!
Why would any one that plays games get a titan or a 780ti?
I see nothing wrong with a 780ti. But definitely not a Titan.
Yeah, pretty sure a single 780ti out performs a Titan (in games anyways).
Did it on my phone. Meant to say over a 780ti
Would love to know where you got the desk or if op knows of one like it.
I haven't a clue! This desk came from my girlfriend's sister, no idea where she got it. There was a hutch attached to it, but I wasn't a fan, so I took it off.
Ah alright! As of now I've just got two desks kinda pushed together in a corner so not very glamorous.
Great post man :) The 780's look beautiful in that case :)
How loud is it? Nice computer btw.
TY! Fairly quiet! The Air Series fans are amazing! I have my girl friend's computer sitting just a few feet away and her two fans are much louder than my 8!
Are those performance fans or quiet edition fans?
5 are quiet series, the three front ones are performance. I wanted to get all quite, but the retailer I got them at only had 5 in stock :( I may replace them in the future.
I really want to pull the trigger on some case LED's. Please tell me the one's you bought.
The lights were from a seller on Ebay. IceModz. Very cheap, very bright, and easy to install.
Great looking build. I'm planning to get the same motherboard myself.
It was this or the Sabertooth, just wasn't a fan of that gold-ish color. Very nice board, great overclocking features, onboard audio is amazing.
Are you using the front audio port for your headphones?
Back audio port. Front does sound pretty good. I'm not a big audio junkie, so really can't tell the difference :)
I'll have to try it out myself :). Stay on the lookout for these ROG goodies -
I'd like three monitors at some point. If/when I do, that will be my center monitor!
The radiator fans are SP. In the earlier photos, they're AF fans, but I've since replaced them with SP fans.
Corsair everything. This level of integration is my favourite. Beauty
That case, so much room!
I know! I love it! :D
Is this what a fanboy setup looks like
I'd probably agree to that! I admit, I could have gotten more (price per dollar) with mixing it up a bit. Really just wanted to stick with 2-3 manufacturers. I've done EVGA in the past, wanted to give ASUS a shot this time around.
I'm all in for Lightning 780s, I love mine, but why not get a Poseidon or a Matrix for a ROG build?
I thought briefly about going MARS, changed my mind at the last minute though. Overall, I'm happy with the turn out.
Ok maybe amateur question here but do you have a disk drive or am I just not seeing it?
Man, the setup looks very nice. Too bad my computer still fairly new or else I would have stole some of yours ;p
You use exclamation marks way too much. Nice build, though.
Noob question... How do you plug in all the fans don't you run out of fan connections on the mother board?
