Whats it like doing normal tasks on such a large monitor
I'm assuming them to be awesome. Lol
Been reading about these, apparently at 30hz, even scrolling is problematic. still, good for the price.
For that silky smooth cinematic experience
Only 30Hz though, that's a shame. I mean I spose as long as it is a consistant 30Hz, it should be smooth for gaming.
Are you calling 30FPS smooth?
Maybe he's a console guy...
Where do you think I came from?
I know, brother. Hail GabeN!
Will you guys just stop? It's obnoxious.
I don't know where you are getting 30Hz, I have the same monitor and it is 60hz
If you read the article, it says the HDMI is limited to 30Hz.
Sorry my mistake I was talking about the 21:9 resolution monitor not the 4K one.
You just use multiple non-fullscreen windows. Like having dual monitors, except all on one display.
As somebody with 27x2 and a 28", I have no complaints
I do mine on a 27 and yes its awesome
Large? It's like looking through a slit. The thing is so wide and short. And the resolution is crap so you don't really gain much more area.
What desk is that? It looks very sturdy. does it wobble/shake at all?
From a little digging around, looks like it's Ikea's Ekby Jarpen + Capita (4")
I came to ask the same thing, I like the looks and design of that desk. Could you link where you bought it from?
It looks like Ikea...
Cooler Master Storm Stryker. I have one myself and love it!
That is my dream case, so stylish and even sleek with a little touch of bad ass. Kind of looks like a stealth jet, now that I think of it.
I got one, and now I have sooo much space left in it I feel like I might have wasted a bit money... :(
How do you like the monitor? I have been considering doing an ultra wide and do 3x 29" instead of 3x 27". But I'm not sure if that might be too much.
At some point, you'll be turning your head too much to really make full use of all of them. I've got 3x27, and it's really too much.
Thanks for a real opinion! Sometimes I feel the general consensus on here is beyond overkill.
Yeah I agree too. When gaming it makes your reactions faster if you can see the whole screen without having to move your eyes much but when playing on such huge screens you would have to put them pretty far away to achieve the same effect and then you may as well have bought a smaller one.
Flip those suckers into portrait!
I have 3x24" and if I had rotating stands I'd definitely put at least one of them portrait. There's just no way to comfortably use that width of screen space.
Do you think I would be fine going with 3x21.5"?
Up vote for the wallpaper
I was super confused when I saw 21x9 at first, didn't realize it was a ratio.
The resolution is 2560x1080 and yes 99% of games support the resolution and the good ones also have FOV settings.
We have the same case OP!!!
It's awesome. I got the tt snow commander at first, but it was too small and not nearly as sexy!
YOU ARE NOT PREPARED !
I had just finished setting everything back up and forgot the mat!
Have the same monitor, Its amazing. Paired it with a MSI 780 Lightning and couldn't be any happier.
AOC q2963pm. It uses the same LCD panel as LG's ultrawide monitor, which has fewer inputs and costs twice as much. I would say the weaknesses of this monitor are its stand, which only allows for tilt, and its little speakers. You really need to have this monitor at eye-level for the backlighting to be even.
I think I could deal with those drawbacks for a $350 29" monitor. I wouldn't even hook up the monitor speakers and my current monitor only allows for tilt anyway. Thanks for the response.
Yeah, the negatives are so minor that the value and quality of the LCD panel outshine them. My only hope is that it lasts a long time. :)
How long has it been going for you?
I picked it up last July. It seemed to have one stuck pixel at the time, but I flicked it with my finger and it fixed it. Hopefully it remains good.
Which monitor is it? I'm not much of a fan of dual screening for games so an extra wide is right up my alley.
It's the AOG 29" monitor. Got it from newegg. It comes in a slate black trim. Even tho it looks silver on the sight. It's just beautiful, you can put two windows side by side to create a duel screen effect. I recommend using display port over HDMI for it.
Many thanks! That's not a horrendous price for an ultra-wide either so I'll add that to the list.
Damn, that monitor looks awesome.
Movies on BluRay are always 1920x1080 with black in the inactive areas. So you would see letterboxing and a lot of pillarboxing with a BluRay on this display.
That's a valid observation. His 21x9 (2.33:1) monitor perfectly fits the 2.35/2.39:1 aspect ratio most movies are projected at. Blu Rays can have black bars because the director wants to fit a 2:35:1 picture in a 16x9 (1.78:1) medium.
I saw this desk and immediately wanted it! Where did you get this desk? Mine is on the verge of falling apart.
Is it possible to run x3 of those monitors?
I think that would be very unpractical, but I guess it could work
I'd love to see closer pics of your Stryker build.
What are those lights on the desk?
I hope we see Illidan again in the future
Hello fellow 21:9 gamer :3 Doesn't peripheral vision make all the difference? I know I'm never going back.
Digging the Wei Wang art man, Also wicked PC
Man I want that monitor so bad.
That illidan background is awesome, link plz?
I like that you have your monitor raised, youre supposed to be looking forward rather than down at your monitor.
Is that a gargoyle mounting a human in the wallpaper?*
21x9 would mean about 23.5 inches
21x9 is just the aspect ratio like a lot of 1080p screens are 16x9.
