Because the stock one is super loud. I got it for $15 and the silence is worth it to me.

Runs wonderfully. Ran some benchmarks and its as fast as all the other ones out there. I just pulled it out of a laptop though.

It's not there usually, just to take pictures. It's not like my carpet is a static generator :)
