Could use some cable wraps management, but otherwise it does look pretty beastly.
Thanks for advice, I am a little afraid to wrap certain areas due to stresses on MoBo :/ I'll see what I can do though, thanks :)
If my motherboard is holding up this metal brick of a GTX 770 a little cable wrapping won't hurt.
You make it sound like the card isnt bolted to the case. If it isnt, then RIP board/card.
How does the heat escape? i see only one fan that's blowing out/inwards and it's away from all the other parts which get hot.
Yeah it looks cool, but it seems like there were some rather poor design choices made with this build.
I have a fan sucking air in from the side and Two smaller fans blowing air out, one forcing air out from the radiator and one from under the mobo, ive put fans on the inside to circulate the air in such a way thay the mass of the air is pushed to the back where the radiator fan pushes it out. I still have to seal some areas but other than that heat flows out nicely
Ah good, I found it hard to see which fan was actually blowing air out or sucking air in. Sounds good though
How do you set up that lock and switch to start that computer? Is it custom wired, or is there something you can buy online for it? It looks so sick, and would keep people from touching my computer unknowingly ;D
I was wondering this as well. Living in a shared homestead, I just realized that not only does the lock and key look sick, but it would be really handy as a deterrent as well. Combine that with a blank keyboard and my computer should have zero attraction to potential computer peekers.
I wanna join in the friends circle...:( I have them too!
When it's dark, I can't see my keys. Does that count?
Tough call gonna have to take a vote on it. Lads, does it count?
I've never done this so I'm no expert but I think I have a rough idea of how it's done. Basically it's just two separate switches which are chained together. The first one is just a toggle switch in the form of a lock/key and the second one is wired off of the first and is a momentary toggle switch which will only work if the first switch is "on" or "closed". I don't think the wiring is that difficult and the switches are relatively cheap (probably less than $10 each). Hopefully OP can provide better details.
I replied to the original comment :) you were spot on, just that I got the switches for free I found them laying around in the workshop hehe
I'll provide everything after I finish from school :)
I didn't see a GPU, what are you planning to get? :)
I am kinda short on cash at the moment, but I was looking at an EVGA GTX760 2gig super clocked version.
Why buy a MARS when you could get a 780ti for a very similar price?
My friend suggested this, I haven't looked into prices yet.
Tbh, if you're going that big, get a big single gpu. The MARS is just an SLI 760 setup on one pcb. Besides, the 780ti would smoke a 760sli setup.
Weird... I scored over 10,000 with an evga 780 ftw ed in firestrike. Dont know if I trust that review. And all the game benchmarks (note not synthetic benches) I looked at showed the 780 beating the MARS as well.
Well, regardless of the site I link it will show common results.
GTX 770 would be the most you could get from the Nvidia camp if your budget is max 300 euro. Since you listed it in euros I assume that you are in the EU somewhere. In the UK the GTX 770 is about 280 euros, so it should be about the same everywhere else in the EU.
In summer I am going to the UK for a holiday/tech shoppig spree hehe so I'll look out for deals :)
That is one of the worst custombuilds I have ever seen.
What in the goddamn hell
What material is that made out of?
The bottom and top are glass panes, and the sides are perspex pieces :)
Is that a TJ07 HDD cage I see?
Apparently it is haha I looked it up and it looks very similar, I would have never known as I got it from a computer shop with a batch the guy was about to throw away and I bought it for cheap.
Is it air tight? If so you could oil cool it.
Unfortunately it isn't air tight, I considered oil cooling and from what I've seen on youtube the results were still not as good as dedicated cooling :/
How are the glass and perspex pieces held together? Also how is perspex different from acrylic panels.
I had an old case lying around and dismantled it to take the motheboard plate out of, and it fit perfectly. The perspex and acrylic are the the same material afaik but perspex is thicker. The case is sandwiched between the two glass panes and so they press together the plastic.
Any suggestions ? I am trying to do something but slowly haha
Cable ties will save you so much hassle. Dirt cheap and infinitely easier on the eye,
Unfortunately yes, but it is much less now that I put dust guards on. I tried directing airflow out at a pressure kinda so dust is pushed out.. I tried ...
Here's what I would do:
How do you like the P8Z77-v lx? I have the -v le plus and I love it, the "saved your ass there, buddy" bios is especially awesome for overclocking.
I'm not normally a fan of open layouts, buy I feel like you have found the perfect mix of elegance, free form and space optimisation.
