I have the same case, same keyboard and same mouse, although i recently changed my keyboard even the same bloody laptop
Wow. You have great taste my friend! It's a shit laptop am i right? I got it years ago.
Well i've actually had my laptop so long it doesn't actually work anymore, but did you recently buy the keyboard?
Yea, 5 days ago. (arrived 2 days ago)
Fair enough, you may get a bit annoyed with it in a couple of months, with mine some keys stopped responding and become difficult to press (they clip each other). I've now got the deathadder 2013 and a cooler master quickfire ultimate, I like colours.
Bump. I want a backlit keyboard that isnt mechanical and costs hundreds of dollars.
It's some kind of blue keyboard. And it has a trifork or maybe it's an E or Enigma sign.
I have that same case, its great. I added some LEDs in some key locations, and really takes the case to new level of cool haha. If you put some blue LEDs near the bottom of the case's window pointing up, it'll illuminate the whole inside of your build so you can see it all from the window. Secondly, I added some LEDs in the side airvents, the one right next to the window. They are the same blue color, and it looks awesome, especially at night. If you are interested, I will post pictures of it!!
I had a build in a Z11 Plus until very recently -- put a blue LED fan in my PSU which cast an awesome glow from the bottom of the case. Looked great through the smoked window.
Were you able to find a way to deal with cable management on the non-window side? I can't even properly close it due to the small space.
Yes I was able to. I ran all the slack from the cables into some empty space near the hard drive bays. I only have 3 hard drives, so I was able to stuff all the slack into that area and then only run the absolute minimum amount of cables around the back. It is still a bit tight for me to close that side, but I'm able to do it.
Where do you power the LEDs from, and what circuitry do you use to hook them in and power them?
The LEDs that I use are powered by 4pin molex, so I just plug them directly into my PSU. They turn on and off with the rest of the computer
Is the keyboard any good? I wan't a backlit keyboard without spending £100.
Yea, I really like it. Its a bit weird to get used to for me though, keys seem a bit... stiff? or just different. I'll get used to it, apart from that its pretty nice. It has some macros too, web browser homepage button, search button, and what i think is a new folder button. Also volume. LED's can be turned off from the keyboard too of course.
Post pictures please. I have the same case I was thinking of putting LEDs in.
Cool. Would love to see pics! It's a screen on the top of the case right? Above the power button. Shows temperature and stuff I guess? How the hell do you get it to work? Is it those USB cables? I had to get a USB female to 8 pin adapter for it, doesn't work though.
At work now, will post pics when I get home
I currently have the z11+, but I am getting a bit tired of it and will probably go for the Air 540, or go a different way and get an mATX case (I have an mATX board)
Dust off the PS3 man :(
Dust off all your things and clean you monitor brezel :)
Yea, It's not a very new build. About half a year or a little more. So a lot of dust, yea!
I only really use it for Blue ray now. Really not too fond of consoles! But I like to have the option for exclusive games and stuff. Such as 'The Last of Us'.
I have the z11 plus from Zalman. I hate it. There is not enough room for a 240mm radiator in the top. For example I have the h100i and to get out to fit in, I mounted the radiator inside the case and then removed the too plastic fins and put the fans on the top. I need a new case.
It's not a good case if you're not doing air cooling. I just swapped mine out for an Enthoo Primo in anticipation of putting a custom loop on my build.
Well i had a 212 evo, then i snagged an h100i off amazon at a steal of a price. I also think the cable management section behind the mobo tray is way to small. The pics look good on newegg or microcenter, but when you actually recieve the case, it will be disappointing.
Eh, most mid towers are the same. Having built and helped build in many different cases, it's pretty much par for the course for a mid tower. The majority have a very thin area for cable management. You have to get a pretty wide case to get decent cable management space. The only things I would say are actually bad about the Z11 Plus are how difficult it is to get to the front and top panels to swap fans, and how little space there is at the top for fans/radiators.
I totally agree with you on that. I tooj my top fins off my z11 plus to fit the h100i fans ontop with the radiator inside mounted to the top
So many people have RaZer mouses. Are they better than other gaming mouses and should I pick one up?
I'm preferential to these guys. Inexpensive, comfortable, and they work great.
Black E-3lue E-Blue Cobra II 1600DPI High Precision Gaming LED Mouse (Bigger scroll wheel)
Some quite like them, however I think that you can get mice that are of far better quality at similar prices. I've got a G700 from Logitech and while it was quite expensive, the build quality is wonderful and it works like a charm. It's also very comfortable.
A wireless mouse for gaming? What's the battery life like?
I don't like the sound of a wireless mouse. I would use it longer than any battery could last.
Decent. Lasts me a little over 3 or 4 days for light use, and it's never failed me at a LAN party when I'm using wirelessly for several hours in a gaming situation. The batteries are also removable, so you can get a second set if need be.
Really, It doesnt matter too much. Any cheap gaming mouse will work. I just love the logo and glowing, breathing LED's. I'm not normally a slave to trends but I do like RaZer. And they do perform great.
Why are you people capitalizing the 'z'? I'm so confused. :S
It looks like the case in that spot would really get in the way when you're sitting. In my opinion, it'd make more sense to have your case on the right side under your desk (beneath the mouse).
Yea thats true. I havn't got big legs though, I'm comfy. There is a radiator behind if you see, so I can't pass cables up too easy. I was thinking that too, and I might move it to the right. But the radiator/heater would heat up the system, and I'm not too keen on that. Considering we have a wood burning stove that heats our boiler in the house and It gets SO fucking hot.
Man, You did a great job, loving the color scheme. AWESOME!
Thank you! I love blue LED's!
I have that case, its pretty sweet but did you have any issues with getting the optical drive in or am i just inept?
If you notice, I put the optical drive in the second slot down. Wouldn't fit in the first one. Case was a little annoying for some things fitting in, but it all worked out.
I cant seem to see a price on that link. I got it from amazon, nice and reasonably cheap. If the link you gave is cheaper. Then I'll be slightly annoyed!
Fuck. I've been searching for a blue LED keyboard under $60 for a while now, and I thought I had just hit the jackpot. $90 on US amazon.
Nice setup man. I've actually liked the look of that case for a while now. Still unsure if I'll pick one up due to the lack of a side-fan. Also, Z11, not 711. Just so you don't confuse people when you state it :)
It has 80mm fans in the side vents for the HDD bay, fwiw. I always got good temps in mine, even added an NZXT Sentry Mesh because I didn't need the fans at full-tilt most of the time.
I really like it, But as I put in my graphics card and a wireless network card, It didn't seem to fit all perfectly. Very slightly off, very slightly. that worried me. But it works.
Nice setup! I'm currently looking for a desk, do you remember where you got yours it seems like just what I need.
Simple desk from Ikea, had it for a few years. No idea if its still being sold or anything.
Alright. I almost have the same setup as you, with the ps3 along with a pc. Well thanks anyways :)
What are the specs of the PC?
Really? It's like really cheap stuff from IKEA or something!
I got the same case except in red and I went along with the red theme by buying a red keyboard. Still need to find a Naga molten though.
What microphone is that? How is the quality. I'm looking for a new microphone currently, probably leaning towards the blue snowball.
