I didn't exactly want to reveal this yet. I've been planning for this since the beginning of the year, finally have moved to a newer house and setting things up as fast as I can. A lot of changes to be made, this picture'd be about %50 of the work done. Changes to be made to the PC, desk and most likely may be painting the wall a more proper red (It looks orange irl).
Also, I did plan on this before the Mirror's Edge 2 launch news, and after I did hear about that, I got all excited and thought maybe my gaming setup wasn't going to be invaluable after all!
Either way man that looks awesome, it would be a bit better if you could throw in another monitor to two!
Thanks! Yeah I do plan to get another monitor soonish! I'll be mounting them both so I can fit in my synth on the table :D
Yeah bud, this is one of the nicest stations I've seen.
Very clean looking, and everything seems to match the white, red, and black color scheme!
How you like that desk. Im thinking on buying a galant but everytime I see that desk I want it hehe.
I have one and it's really good. The side part pushes in if you need the space. My only problem is that it doesn't push all the way under.
Its incredible! Previously, I had some extremely generic-ass old desk since 7 years, so using this desk makes a massive difference now, and honestly I love it!
What filing cabinet is that?
I have no idea man, my dad got it ages ago. It's definitely not Ikea though.
I have a Dell Studio 1537 laptop and I feel your pain.
I have the same chair, only it's a few years old so the seat looks really shitty.
I looked at the ass of my chair last night and it's kinda getting not-so-white any more ;_;
It only gets worse :'
What are the speakers and are they good?
What do you use your laptop for? Maybe you could you put Linux on it.
The cable management is good on this desk. The little shelf/basket has a cutout in the center on the back side of it and one on each corner on the bottom side.
Haha holy shit! What's freaky is that my previous build had the same case as well!
And actually I had planned something very similar to what you have in mind, but then I changed my mind and figured I'll mount my screen so I can put my synth on the table as well (It's an 18kg 61 key synth, takes a fair bit of space)
Are you me? I have the exact same setup planned.
What's the case? Looks great.
At least two of us would very much like to know!
Make that 5 of us, i'm with 2 friends near me.
It's the Fractal Design Define R4.
Seriously? It's one of the most well known cases on the market
And that makes it automatically announce its presence to interested buyers who aren't familiar with the market? Gosh, sometimes you're just such a douchecanoo.
How do you like the desk? I'm looking at the same one for the gaming setup I'm putting together.
Nice! I have red walls and was wondering what theme I could try. Looks like I finally have some inspiration! Can't wait to see it when its done.
I might need a new pair of pants. Seriously though, this aboslutely gorgeous. I kinda have something like this planned, so I'm swooning like a teenage girl over your gaming setup.
Do you have an additional LED or is all the light from the equipment?
No other LEDs at the moment. I do plan to put some in, in the case. Mostly the light is off my keyboard and the monitor!
I love my k70 <3 even with O-rings on it
May you be so kind and tell me what chair that is? Your gaming setup looks good yet, though it doesn't remind me much of Mirror's Edge. But as you already stated this is only 50%, make sure to post it again when it's done, looking forward to it.
I'm not too sure what exact one it is, but I got it from Officeworks (Australia) and I believe it was around $60 - $99!
I have the same desk but in black. It's really great.
Love this and the game, I play the xbox 360 demo for hours.
What do you do on the laptop? just curious
Mostly light uni work. I really try to avoid using it. It's pretty bulky but its all I have, I take it to uni as well. Recently downgraded back to W7 from W8 because the drivers weren't supported on W8.
I have that same desk. The only issue is that, with the side part pulled out, the back left corner of the desk becomes unusable. This really becomes a problem when you want to get more monitors, as this will force you to sit centered at the desk.
Really cool. I probably should have bought that case in white.
So, this build made me cry a bit. Tears of joy. That is absolutely the most beautiful gaming setup I've seen.
I've seen all sorts of portal themed rooms/computer setups, but never Mirror's Edge. Now that I think of it though, it's certainly got a distinct theme that wouldn't be difficult to reproduce. Can't wait to see it complete!
It's too messy to be considered Mirror's Edge. You have to keep it cleaner, too much stuf laying around. If that was my room I'd paint all of the walls plain white and the same with the floor, then i would have an orange desk, blue shelf and red bed covers on a black bed etc. Otherwise, that is looking good.
I love the idea of a white room and painting the important parts red with some multicolored furniture, that would be amazing.
Well, that is basically how Mirror's Edge is, amazing.
I had orange in mind before, but when I began picking parts for my build, I figured it'd be insanely hard to get orange parts / paint them on my own. Also my system is a bit of a budget build ($1700) so I didn't want to go cray on it. And hence I decided to go for the red.
That's probs the budget including peripherals.
Okay, well, I'm in Australia and everything is 2x the price in terms of computer components here (Yes, I kid you not, literally 2x the price!)
Also seeing as people were making insane builds with the Obsidian 900D with 16 fans and cray liquid cooling, I figured my PC was a 'budget' built xD
Yeah well i was thinking a bit more about the room on this one. The Fractal case is awesome in white and i guess that it doen's have a side window so your parts won't be visible. For a clean desk setup i'd remove everything except the monitor, keyboard, mouse, mousemat and pc. If there was a router i'd mount it under the desk or hidden on the wall.
