Computer Setup

Comments

I like the lightning in this picture and how the inside of your computer looks like a high-tech lab doing so much hard work to let you check out coolcomputersetups.
Love the lighting, what colors etc did you use?
Agreed. Can you tell us more about the lighting?
How did you manage to hook the Dioder up inside your computer? Can you link to the one you bought?
Pop one of the expansion panels in the case and plug it straight into building power, the strips can be mounted with double sided foam tape or sticky backed velcro.
I also did some work on that picture and resized it to higher resolutions without having it pixelated:
Was excited and then the 2560 one had some pretty bad banding :/ 1080 one seemed perfect.
No banding for me, super smooth.
Small banding right? It does show banding on my screen when it's not zoomed in, but when I have it as a desktop background on my 1440p screen it doesn't have any banding at all.
Specs? And of course what is driving those sexy AKGs?
Nice. But that wallpaper.. just.. makes it extra amazing. Source?
Nasica? Do you mean Nausica?
Yea, thought so. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I don't think that it's linked to it.
It looks like it's from 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time'.
Love the second pic, thanks for the source link!
Second link doesn't work. :P
It's from an anime called boku no pico if you were wondering
I think we have the same mouse. G600?
What headphones? do you like them? do you recommend them? what do you dislike about them? would you buy the same pair if you could go back in time?
Those are AKG Q701s.
Admit it, you bought them because Mio uses them.
From your backgrounds, I assumed you were an anime fan; Mio is a character from K-on who wears K-701s
Whaaa I am ashamed that I don't remember her...on top of that she was my favourite from all of the band members ಥ_ಥ
You have a knack for extracting the best out of things in your photos. Nice setup, wallpapers, colors, shadows and angle.
Beautiful picture! Oh yeah the gaming setup is not half bad either...what am I kidding, can we trade gaming setups...?
It's actually an X-Star DP2710!
Looks great, not sure why there is a painting of a dog on that letter though...I'm hoping to order mine very soon, since I just recently sold my Logitech G27 and now I have the money to buy one.
I know about the tape fix and I have done it, but it didn't do anything for me. I've only applied one layer though, but the bleeding wasn't that bad to begin with and I don't notice it at all.
How did you go about straightening the panel frame?
I just took it off, went to the kitchen table (large flat surface) and set it on there to see which parts were raised off the surface, after that I just bent it back to flat bit by bit
I skipped the tape entirely since it doesn't really fix the actual problem causing the backlight bleed, it's caused by the metal frame around the screen being bent/warped, I straightened mine out and it completely eliminated the bleed without any tape
Do you like your mouse and keyboard? I have the same setup and I love my g600.
I love my G600. Bought it to reach skills 6-0 in Guild Wars 2 more easily and was initially going to go for a Razer Naga. However after trying both in the shop it was like the G600 chose me. I laid my hand on it once and never looked back at the Naga again.
I've looked everywhere and Im new to the whole dual monitor thing so Please don't get mad when I ask what seems like a really basic question. How do I get 2 different wallpapers?
In windows 8 it's integrated. Rightclick on desktop -> personalize -> desktop background -> rightclick the wallpaper you want -> choose monitor it should appear on.
I approve of your desktop image.
Really like the lighting inside the case. Just got a clear side panel for my HAF 932 and was looking to get some lights up in there. Think you may have just persuaded me.
Your setup is amazing! It just looks great. I'm currently looking for a 23' or 24' monitor with a portrait mode to finish my setup without breaking my bank. I was wondering if you think the Siberia V2 would fit if you by chance had a big head (L/XL)?
I think I have a pretty big head. My wintersports helmet is sized L 59-63cm and the headset fits effortlessly. Tho now that I have my AKG Q701s I hate putting the Siberia headset on because of the earcups :/ They just don't allow your ears to breathe when it's hot in your room and so they get sweaty really easily.
What's the resolution on the right monitor? I tried that with a 1600x900 monitor but it was just too narrow to be usable.
The right monitor is 1920x1080
How is that case? Just looking at the window shape gave it away haha. I'm 80% sure I'm going for that case for my first build. I'm REALLY picky about design and function and this one seemed to have a good balance. I probably looked at 50 or so cases before deciding this one..
If you go for it you should also get some better fans. The stock fans are high-RPM fans and not the quietest. Unless you don't care about silent computing ofc.
Hah, ok. I can live with stock fans for awhile nbd.
Thank you for not saying something along the lines of here's mine, it's not much but I love it anyway or my "humble" station.
Since you're using W8, does your second monitor disable when you play a game/ I have a surround setup, but since Surround isn't supported well in W8 (even with the new drivers 326.41 Beta), I'm stuck using 3 extended monitors.. unless I want everything maximizing across all three screens..
Nope, does not disable when gaming.
Haha, I watched that same suicidesheep video and put that picture as my background last night too.
I see that strategically placed arduino! lol
How do you make the taskbar black?
Rightclick desktop -> personalize -> colour -> show mixer -> put every slider on minimum. That's in Windows 8.
