Computer Setup

They'll actually rip him to pieces.
They did rip me to pieces.... I promptly deleted it..
Everyone in that sub thinks they're Patrick Bateman. This sub quite often too.
God fucking dammit I need a higher paying job. That sub was just depressing.
The only change I would make is a bed skirt... basically anything to cover up that white box spring, it would annoy me during movies. Otherwise, pretty sweet.
And if a bed skirt isn't your style or just looks too girly, get another fitted sheet. That's what I did in College.
The reflection on the dresser, too.
That projector is glorious.
Beautiful setup. Can you link to that projector? Is the quality comparable to that of a LED TV?
I'm slightly ashamed to admit that that (being from the UK) there was a brief moment of hope there before my brain engaged when I thought you were talking about the price – before the wave of disappointing realisation finally washed over.
If you want to get just the feel of a projector before deciding, you can probably buy a used one for the "price" quoted. I got my first projector (1024x768 with 1000 hours left on the lamp) for 20 eur from the local univ and a 2.20m wide Da-Lite screen for 15 eur. It's not hi def or have hdmi input, but it still plays a mean mario party.
Is there a max screen size that your projector has?
Like 300 inches.. Really just depends how much wall space you have and how dark you can get the room.
What screen did you get?
That's fucking awesome. Thanks.
Spends 900+ dollars on alienware computer.. why not just build one yourself?
I normally build my own rigs, but I was looking into something that saves space. GTX 660, i5, 8 gigs of ram, and it fits into my backpack.
Oh... I see your reasoning behind it now..
Because not everyone has to build their own rigs
I saw a pretty good rig for $800 on amazon with 12 gigs of a ram, a good video card, and an i7 processor. It seemed like a good deal.
Typically the video cards are really not that good in those machines...you also need to consider if the power supply is good or not.
This is my concern, I really want one but it's hard to commit to buying something without testing it and my experience with projectors in the past has left a whole lot to be desired.
Projectors are great in a home theather, but not great for day to day use.
/highfive for Plasma! Still the best image quality imo.
I have a 2012 Panasonic 60ST50 and love it
Ahh... the only thing i want is to have a suite (or a lazyboy) rather than sit on my bed, i managed to get a amazing Panasonic Home Theater Projector for literally nothing, my uncle got it from a mate for £50 who thought that the bulb had but 50 hours left to live, but had neglected to leave it on for an hour to see if the timer went up or down... so my uncle gave it to me as a birthday gift left it on for an hour and the dam thing had only been on for 50 hours it was brand new!!! it still serves me well to this day i must have had it for at-least 4 years now and its still perfect. Nice setup though mate, i will need to post mine when i get my new desk.
Inviting chicks over to see some movies with that setup... Easy.
Looks like you have a nice turntable and projector, but what about the speakers???
The sub and 1 bookshelf speaker are kind of tucked away behind my guitar, and the other speaker is up on my dresser. Looking into Monitor Audio RX6's as a future investment.
The similarities of our tastes is disturbingly cool. Are you my Walternate?! Piano instead of guitar; brown paint instead of green; LEDLCD instead of projector...
But they both like Twizzlers!
Hmm, I take it that projector kicks out some heat?
Ohhh ya. Come wintertime I won't even be using my heater.
I bet you don't need any lights in the room with that TV on.
I bet that's nothing compared to the heat mine spits out... it turns the room into a sweat box.
And I'm sure the fan is annoying too considering it's right behind their head.
Hey nice setup! Is that a short throw projector? Also what 100" screen is that + how much was it? Thanks
Hope you don't mind but I would love to know what tower case that is and what kind of internals you could fit in it. I am thinking about getting a smaller case. Also what model is the record player?
Thanks for the response :) Ya, I wasn't sure about the case because with the lighting it kinda looked like something NZXT would make. Very nice set up by the way. It works well with the space you have.
Hey, how far back does the projector have to be in this setup?
Well mine is about 10 feet from the screen and it fills the wall... but i guess it depends on the projector and the lens.
I have the optoma HD33 which isn't that different from yours and can safely say that I will never go back to a regular tv. Love how much screen space you got there
The picture of the Rat Pack playing pool was taken in my friend's house, she lives outside of Memphis Tennessee and has the picture hanging in the room that it was taken in.
Where did you get the tall dresser from?
Just noticed that we have the exact same shelf's holding the projector, i need to get something a bit nicer...
Ugh i need to get a projector
I was really thinking of getting myself a projector over a 42". But ever since I was told about replacing bulbs after X amount of times I turn it on and off, it put me off the idea of even considering it, since each bulb would've cost me a weeks $$ of meals..And I would be on it on a daily basis. One day when science and technology have figured a way to extend the bulbs life, and lower the costs of the high end projectors we have in store now, I might consider such an investment. For now, my 42" serves me well.
How is the projector screen mounted? I had a similar idea in mind.
What couch is that and do you recommend it?
Pretty sweet. I just hope, you live with roommates not named mom and dad
Nothing like putting spinning rims on an older car...
