Computer Setup

Nice setup, Its my final year too... and i also got an upgrade for my desk atleast but my GPU is holding me back.

I friggin love beta tanks! They add an aspect of class and calm to the picture that nothing else gives AND betas are beautiful fish.

I should get a beta for it... these shrimp in it right now are near damn invisible, the snails are more active.

Umm... yes i did actually. I agree that allot of student's will go and blow all their money on a MAC or throw it all into a PC but i was a little more frugal with my loans and most of my setup is second hand.

How do people afford this stuff and university at the same time :/

As a uni student with a halfway decent gaming setup I'll have a go at this question. I work 20 hours a week which all goes to booze, the gf and bills. Whatever I have left over at the end of the month goes to my gaming setup its all come out of student loans and credit card debt.

What did/ do you use the HP Microserver for?

The microserver I use for a few things. It current has ESX 5.1 installed then a Windows Server 2012 box that I use for NAS and Downloading

What kind of frame rates are you getting on bf3? I've been considering adding a second one to my build.

I don't know to be honest, I've never measured. Is there an easy way to find out? I'll happily post them up :-)

What stands are those for the monitors?

This information really needs to be standard, especially when its not the factory stands.

I can't find a 3 monitor arm that has one mount in the middle and two on either side that isn't over £100 :(

What kind of temps are you getting with that dinky cpu cooler?

Idle = 19 C Load/Gaming = 51 C

I'm impressed! That's really not bad at all considering the clock you've got going.

Computer all in was around £850 and the monitors were £160 a piece :-)

What casefans are giving you that purple color?

I think those are blue case fans actually. AFAIK, purple is a very "light" color that tends not to show up real well when taking pictures. Or, at least that's how it works with the purple fans in my case.

I don't know to be honest, I've only got Blue LED fans? Only bit of red in the case is some writing on the SSD, possibly my crap camera..

How's the mousepad? I was looking to get the new extended version of that pad actually.

Good! I enjoy it I was looking at the Razer pads, but this does the job and is great. Recommend!

Just a suggestion if you have ventilation on the bottom of your case, please put a piece of wood under it, besides that, NICE SETUP MAN!!

How do those 660's perform at that resolution?

Well 1 will run all 3 screens, but not Surround gaming. Both allow games at 5760x1080 at high/Mid graphics.

Oh wow, you've got the same case as me and even put blue LEDs in it. Same mouse too, but I've got a Ducky Shine 3 for my keyboard. I will only buy the Deathadder, I really don't like other Razer stuff.

Someone on here recommended it. It's a nice case, however I want to change it now for a bitfenix case.

How do you like the turtlebeach cans? I was thinking of getting the XP seven something. The white ones.

I really like them, this is my third? Pair of turtle beach headphones and will continue to buy them. Not uncomfortable after long use. Good mic and not too expensive!

What ~fps do you get on bf3 with that setup(5760x1080)?

Last year of uni? Better spend more of my parents' money and max out my Sallie Mae loans before collapsing into a fruitless world of debt for the next two decades.

Or work hard an not be stupid, saving money appropriately after paying necessary bills and items off.
