If you look at prices, they're upwards of $200. My friend has one, but he has it because he's associated with valve. I don't know anyone who would spend that much money on something like that.

Has your friend ever visited Valve HQ? Usually, when people visit there, they a get a bunch of free stuff by Valve, so maybe that's where he got it from.
