9 Monitor Computer Setup - Computer Setup

Comments

Four monitors? Sweet fap station bro.
I do actually have 5, but I ran out of screenoutputs, and I am not going to run my cards in anything else than Crossfire
Besides having 20 monitors do you feel that crossfire improves gaming performance enough to warrant the price of having two awesome graphics cards? I spent a lot of money on my computer but skimped on the graphics card to be in budget.
Yes! Yes they are ! Gaming at 40 fps and 60 means worlds difference to me. I am so glad that I picked up the second 7970
Yeah I can see the difference, but just out of curiosity what games are you laying?
Thats cool! I have a two monitor setup. Sometimes when people see it they exclaim how awesome it would be to watch porn using that
How do you like the leap motion? What do you use it for the most?
I mostly use for unlocking my computer. Apparently Leap motion does not support extreme resolutions... and so its useless for just about everything else at unlocking the computer. But when that is said, it does unlock the shit out of my comuter
I have heard a lot of mixed reviews and have been debating on picking one up. Would you say that it is really worth it? I sounds like maybe not if you paid $80+ and all you can use it for is unlocking. I have a similar setup with a ton of screens and high res...
Some apps have limited functionallity with extreme resolutions, some have none at all. Its a cool toy and all, but not worth the monaeh/Ca$h. I did play with it on one monitor. that was cool and all, but It god old very fast and is not a replacement for the mouse at all.
Cool, thanks for the input! (also, kick-ass set up)
No problem champ, and thank you!
Did you not like OSX?
Nope, not at all.
So what was the point of buying a near $2000 laptop ?
Lmao... thats never going to get old. If you want a laptop for linux get a $200-300 one and it'll do the same job.
Most likely for the hardware that is in the laptop
Uhh, Yes? OP said that he has no use for OSX, and you can do many things with Ubuntu that can be very resource heavy, and its not a bad OS for things like school either
Ummm lets see here using a free OS on a near $2000 laptop... and not using OSX crazy cause OSX is pretty solid.
Price doesn't determine quality in the operating system world.
My other one broke, i Got it "used" for 1000. Its a fully specced out 5.1. Thouht i could spend a little and try what this mac thing was all about
Did you make the speakers yourself? They look like mdf.
What is that mousepad ?
It literally says so on it
All i can read is monex something 320. why is it plugged it ?
Oh shit. . . i swear the motion controller was attached to the mouse pad. . .
Mionix Ensis 320. Its not plugged in? there is a leap motion controller right next to it however
How do you play games on that monitor config? :P wont there be a bezel in the middle of your crosshair when you play fps? Just wondering...
The three left monitors are in a 3x1 eyefinity setup. The last one is just a auxiliary screen
Could you post the wallpaper??
Is it possible to use boot camp to dual boot Ubuntu on a macbook or do you have to have Ubuntu as the only OS?
Its 100% possible. I had no use for osx, and decided to get rid of it since I hated it
What is that little USB thing below your keyboard in the 3rd picture?
I was wondering this too.
Why didnt you just buy a pc laptop and install ubuntu on that instead of paying the Apple Premium?
I agree with you but I wouldn't mind having an apple laptop. They make some nice looking hardware.
That and in two years you should still be able to sell it for $600-700. In my experience used Mac hardware sells much quicker and for more money than traditional pc hardware.
Personally I buy apple for the hardware, not the software. Although, I have no qualms with OSX but hey, Ubuntu is awesome also so win/win for OP.
Because macbooks look nicer and feel nicer... the same reason why you'd want a souped up car to a rickety stock, I'd honestly pay up extra for that nice brushed aluminum sweetness...the competitor to it would be RAZER
Oh I am hating buddy there are a number of sleek macbook style laptops out there on the market with a much better track record price and specs than razer.
The Apple Premium's pretty reasonable to me these days, given the build quality & customer service I've experienced.
Is that a G6v2 keyboard? How do you like it?
Love mine, really simple, doesn't have all the gimmicks and lights of the Razer stuff.
Do you have the black or red switches?
Blacks, I've never had a chance to try reds. My understanding is they are less resistance versions of blacks. I've tried blues and love them for typing but not so much for FPS gaming.
Alright, thanks for your help mate!
Dat bewhind! In all seriousness, nice set up. Someday, I'll follow suit.
Do you leave your case open like that all the time? Is that ok? Cause it looks sweet!
When its in my room, yeah, but when i take it around (mostly LANs) i put the sidepanel on
Ok thanks. I wasnt sure if this would bring dust in easier or anything
How are those speakers? IIRC they're like homebuilds right?
Yeah, they are homebuild. They are getting old, but they are really good
Sweet gaming setup! I dig the matching wood color between the speakers and the desk.
Taking a rig like that to a LAN party... the logistics alone make me weep... yet, for the glory of the setup.
How do you play dota 2 on this?
I dont play dota on this
What speakers do you use?
I decided that you need a cooler keyboard to match all the other cool stuff. That is all.
A plain keyboard with mx blacks is all I need
How did you do that? Can I have specs and prize for all this? :)
What's that little black/red thing above the mousepad?
Looks like you need to give a little slack on those cables connecting to your gfx card/mobo. Seem like it's barely holding by the pins, and you definitely don't want to bend those.
I have that same case. Great minds think alike. ;D
