I've been meaning to ask for a while.. Why do a lot of people own several guitars, like 10 in this case, as opposed to just a single one for every type they want?

To be honest, it's just because I'm obsessed with guitars and love having lots to play. Many of them are quite different to each other and feel and sound different, so it gives me freedom to get the tone I want when playing different styles of music.

As a fellow guitarist, this all makes total sense, I'm the same way. Sweet collection, bro! You've got quite the setup.

It's like car-aficionados who buy lots of cars. Guitars are (typically) less expensive than cars though.

Different sounds and feels. also easier to keep each of them in a different tuning than to try to tune one a hundred times.

Guitars are cool, that's why. It's like owning two different computers: one running OSX and one running Windows 8.1. Both are nice and also, they have different uses. One is noticeably different by the way it feels and how it's used, differentiating from the other one.

People have provided lots of comments about different "feels" and different "sounds" - and those are all true, but difficult to understand for people who don't play a lot of guitar - i'd like to offer a couple other takes.

Nice speakers - Also like Hi-rise dock; will pick up one of them for sure.

I have been looking into one, but there is nothing I hate more than "two handed docks". Can you remove your iPhone with one hand and not pick up the entire dock at the same time?

Yeah, not by just picking up the phone, but I use my finger to push down on the dock as I remove the phone. So I guess you could say it's one handed.

What is the name of that stand? I really want one now. haha

The iPhone one? It's called the Hirise dock.

I'd hazard a guess and say that most iPhones you see on docks are on iPhone specific docks.

So I gotta know... what material is that clear guitar made of, and how does it sound? Both plugged in and not.

It's Acrylic. Doesn't sound great, it's cheap so has a very cheap pickup in it. Though I once gig with it at a David Bowie themed show I once did. Fit in quite nicely and sounded ok for those kind of songs.

Haha yeah, I imagined the sound may suffer because of the quality of the materials, still looks like something the crowd would definitely enjoy in terms of aesthetic appeal.

It'a a Wesley acrylic travel guitar. Bought it cheap on eBay and stuck some LEDs in it.

What'd you use to get the time/weather on your background?

It's an app in the mac app store called 'Live Wallpaper'.

How do you like your Marley speaker? My company piloted their launch and it never really took off.

It's good for what I paid for it. Amazon sell it a lot cheaper than in the shops, so that's why i went for it. It's definitely not worth the retail price, but it does look very nice, sounds nice and the bluetooth range is quite impressive.

So I looked at the desk like "Oh nice, this is really nice. Not extreme though :D" and then I saw the guitar collection and shat myself.

Oh I was gonna say it was a PRS but I couldn't really read the headstock so I didn't wanna sound stupid haha. Yeah I've played my guitar shop owners Fender Deluxe and it sounds amazing, I would definitely get one :D

It's a Wesley, quite a cheap thing. Was given to me a few years ago.

If you're going to use the studio monitors you need to get your desk away from the wall and out of the corner. Get stands so the speakers form an equilateral triangle with your head.

Unfortunately with my room being as it is, I kind of have to have them up against a wall. As for the stands, I've been looking for some decent ones at the right price for a while, but usually I just lower my chair down. It isn't perfect, but works for now.

If that's the case monitor with headphones, otherwise your mixes will suffer miserably and you won't know why.

Will at some point get some headphones too, but at the moment I'm managing to get some pretty good mixes from my current set up. The monitors have different settings on them based on if they're up against a wall or on other positions, so that helps.

While everyone is looking at your guitars, I'm pretty excited to see your Genelec 6010s. Awesome monitors. Do you have a sub to go with them? I'm going to eventually do a 5.1 setup with the 8030s.

Yeah I love them! I have an 8" Sony sub with them, as the Genelec one was far too expensive for me. Sounds great.

It's a Vintage VSA. Made a post in r/guitar a while ago about it. Got it cheap off a guy I knew who was clearing out a load of his son in law's guitars.

What mixer is that? Do you like it? I've been thinking of setting up my own little studio in my bedroom as well and am looking for a mixer that's affordable.

It's an old Behringer one. I only use it for mixing my audio output levels and it does the job very well at that.

How do you like the Sennheiser Momentum's? Also is that the over or on ear version?

They are the on ear versions. I love them. They sound great with all types of music, and are comfortable too. They don't cancel outside noise out very well, which is one of the reasons I got them (I need to be able to hear announcements on trains etc when travelling).

I had that 15W line 6 amp. Best amp for beginners.
