Gaming Setup - Computer Setup

Very nice. I see you're rocking a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's ? How do you find them for PC audio and what amp is that?
Thanks. I've only had them for about 1-2 weeks, but I'm really liking them so far and they're an obvious step up from my previous setup of some Logitech X210's. Also, the amp is a Lepai TA2020, more than adequate for my needs and the room I have.
I love Wharfedales, best looking speakers out there! But pairing those speakers with such a cheap amp doesn't seem right... Don't get me wrong, I've never listened to a T-class amp, so I could be totally wrong!
Yeah I was a little sceptical at first myself, but after reading plenty of reviews from people with the same, or very similar combination, they seemed to be quite positive about it and it packs a tidy punch for its size. With it being my first delve in to the world of audio systems too I thought I'd go with something a bit on the cheaper side amp wise because of the budget I set myself, leaving the possibility of an upgrade open for the near future. :) And couldn't agree more about the Wharfedale's, they're stunning looking speakers!
Thanks. Came here to ask what speakers those were. They look a lot like my Athena LS100 speakers. I've got those hooked up to my comp via a Fiio A1 amp. Amp runs very cool (which is great in the summer) and the sound is decent. Better than the Corsair SP2500 speakers I had before.
That's one sexy gaming setup, I really dig that Les Paul
That acoustic guitar, how much did you pay for it and which country do you live in ? :) ( Im intrested in buying an acoustic guitar but I just started playing guitar this week and I could use some help finding a guitar )
It's an electro-acoustic bass, and it's only a shitty Eastcoast one from Professional Music Technology in the UK that I bought to start out on about 4-5 years ago whilst at uni. Think it was about £100 at the time. If you're just starting out see if you can pick up a second hand acoustic from somewhere, or places like Amazon have decent beginner Yamaha's for around £60-£70. Good luck! :D
Ye I wasen't thinking about buying a expensive one, because im a student atm. I'v borrowed my little sister guitar so far and I'v noticed it sounds very different from the one's I see on youtube , why is that ?
I'm not as knowledgeable as I should probably be, but I'll help if I can. Sure, guitars of all varieties will sound different for many reasons - different strings, shapes, the wood used, effects, etc. As a beginner I'd say just try some beginner or second hand ones out and see which you like the feel and sound of best and go for it so long as it's within your budget.
Yep you can change the strings or tune it differently according to what you want to play. And sorry I can't help with the sound problem, perhaps make sure your guitar is in tune? He's also using a capo, which will increase the pitch by shortening the strings, so it could be that difference that you're hearing.
I don't got a capo but does it really make that big difference in the sound?
It could be the difference you're hearing. And you can find guides through Google on how to tune your guitar, just do a search.
But don't I want to tune the guitar do specific songs ?
Most will be in standard tuning I'd imagine so don't worry, if not it'll say and then you can search Google for that specific tuning.
If your strings don't sound as bright try and get new ones put on. That's probably the difference you're hearing. It's more prominent with old strings on an acoustic versus an electric or a bass guitar.
Guitar player here, the quality of the strings can greatly affect your sound. You should probably stick a new set on, can really make it sound and feel better!
Okay, what would you think it would cost?
Strings are quite cheap. Stick to a known brand of guitar when buying too. Find the model and google some reviews to make sure it's decent, then play till your fingers bleed!
Love the set-up :) I want to know though, what case is that? and does it air well?
Thank you. :) The case is a Coolermaster Elite 334U. It has decent air flow and it's fairly spacious inside, although it does leave a lot to be desired in terms of cable management. For a first build though it's served me well so far.
I've got that same wallpaper, we might be brothers.
I sure hope so.
Requesting a link to said wallpaper.
Very similar to where I sit all day. Mug and poster make this the best gaming setup for me.
Really nice setup! Were did you buy your speaker stands? I have been on the lookout for something like this.
Thank you! As for the stands, I asked a friend if he could build me some as I was struggling to find any that I liked myself.
Woh! Those are some classy looking speakers!
Love the setup. What ikea table is that? And what type of monitor stands are those? Thanks!
Cheers! I think it was from the Vika Amon range, and the monitor stands are just the ones that came with the monitors themselves (although one is a television).
I wanna know the backstory on the broken "i" key!
People on here are ungrateful little shits. You have a big desk, two monitors, nice speakers, a custom built PC (you know its at least decent), and Xbox 360, etc. The fuck is wrong with you? "It's not much," but it's collective cost could pay for an entire family to eat for months.
I said it's nothing special, which was in reference to some of the other gaming setups on here, not the economic well-being of others. Oh and by the way, you forgot the Kindle.
