Gaming Setup - Computer Setup

Lol this is ridiculous. efficient, but ridiculous.
It's kinda like anyone who wears fanny packs or drives smart cars level of ridiculous. I see how efficient it is, but I still can't take you seriously.
Hehe, as an English man I think I will always find calling bum bags fanny bags amusing. Then again I am sure you think of bum bags as bags for hobos.
Bum bags? Yeah we have them everywhere here. Where else would we put all the dead hobos?
Shhh. It's only a matter of time before Bloomberg tries to take those away from us, too.
Only dead hobos lighter than 160 pounds!
I like the idea very much, but I find it quite an eyesore. There must be more elegant ways to display such devices.
Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10. All mounted on my bureau with "Koala damage-free tablet wall mounts" from amazon.
How do you game like that ._.
They slide in and out of the mounts - the mounts are just plastic brackets that hold the tablets up against gravity. I take the N7 out and play games or browse coolcomputersetups while in bed. It's great. I can play till I'm ready to pass out - then slip it in, press play on my N10 for the movie and pass out before the beginning credits are over.
Same here. From the desktop, I get into bed. Laptop comes out. Once that dies, then to the phone. All while Netflix is playing on my TV.
The two best things for falling asleep that I've found are; a stable sleep pattern with up to 8 hours of sleep, and stay away from screens one hour before bedtime. Read a book, masturbate to your imagination, count marbles, just don't stare directly into a light source.
I've found that using f.lux at work and home has helped my sleep schedule IMMENSLEY.
I had never heard of f.lux until now. Just installed it and immediately felt a difference on my eyes. I don't feel "forced" awake anymore. Thank you, cerettala, you may have just saved my sleep schedule.
I liked f.lux, but whenever I'd play a video game that screen would flash a lot if it was full-screen. It really does do what you say, but those flashes wake me up instantly.
It's the internet, I expect to see at some point all the sick, twisted stuff come out.... but that one really did make me say out loud, "There really is a sub /r/ for everything"
Be very skeptical of the wild claims they make there. Some of it is pretty fucking ridiculous.
Hey where did you get those corner mounts?
"Koala damage-free tablet wall mounts" from amazon.
For some odd reason, I feel the need to have something like this in the near future.
Would be awesome to have a "make coffee" button in the morning when you switch your alarm clock off.
We can build it. We have the technology...
I'll write the code for it!
I did that awhile back. I'll see if I can find some pictures.
Everything looks great... that tape though, there must be a better solution for your cable management?!
"It's a whooolllle family of Nexuses(sp??).....this is just too good!"
Plural could be Nexi? I don't know though.
Touchscreen fap station seems like a bad plan
This is cool as shit.
Nice try, Koala Damage-Free Tablet Wall Mounts rep.
Not a rep or associated in any way.
You should probably cover that with a sealer.
What is it with sealers today?
Because sealer is the answer to all of your questions.
It's some reference to the front page post where the guy coverd his floor in pennies.
What is the point of that? Whats your work flow like?
Nexus 4: I take it with me everywhere and use it endlessly for work and play.
I think it's more he uses them through the day, then when he goes to bed he mounts them and charges them
He said they rarely leave the station
Mind telling us what your frequently used apps are on these? Or at least what was on them during the time of this picture?
My favorite function for the Nexus 10 is movies (both streaming from my NAS and from Netflix)
Nice. Do you use them permanently there or do they go with you during the day?
The tablets are there most of the time, I rarely take them out with me.
Yeah, e-ink definitely has its drawbacks. I was looking at it for low power consumption and for ease on the eyes
What are those chrome (plastic?) corner holder things? They look quite useful.
"Koala damage-free tablet wall mounts" from amazon.
So you spent $60 on wall-mounts? They look dope, I just can't justify $60 for that setup. Did you happen to come across any lower-cost alternatives?
Yeah, I had a vision and I made it a reality. I looked around a little, but didn't find anything much cheaper. I figure somebody could build something like this pretty easily though. They are just plastic holsters - you could make mini shelves or something. I'm not skilled or experienced in building things; I really want a 3d printer for this sort of thing though.
Very sweet setup. I really wanted to get a tablet once I bought my first Android 4.0+ phone, but decided not to because my phone was essentially the same thing. Why buy two tablets? Do they have specific purposes?
Having 2 tablets will blow my mind. How do you do it?
I like it, but I really wish you would do something with those cables.
More like a masturbatorium, than a gaming setup.
IMO, this is just ridiculous.
I would hook up those USB connections to an ADB server.
While I've used adb to unlock my devices, I'm not sure what function it has beyond that. What might this enable me to do? Why would I want to do it?
Practical things, ie turning on/off all devices at X times in the morning and night, that kind of thing.
Looks very clean and organized. Good job.
I'd love to see those mounts in adjustable form, in case you upgrade to a different model dimensions later.
They use "command strips" which are easy to remove and replace
But isn't the length between the corners is fixed? I looked them up on amazon, and it seems like you need to buy a different set of "grips" for different devices.
Each device in the picture was mounted using the same product. It comes as two plastic pieces that can be stuck to a surface in any position.
I turned my neck 90 degrees at first thinking that tablet was laying on a desk lol
What widget is that on your Nexus 4? Is that a data usage widget, battery..?
All I have to say is I'm proud of you
What happens when you get tired of laying on your right side?
Nice post. I hope to see more of these down the road.
Would you use a Samsung tablet?
I'd use any decent Android tablet. I choose the Nexus devices because of their value, purity, and because of how easy it is to unlock them and install custom roms.
I used a custom rom on my tablet 1 time and it was a port of jellybean that had not came out yet for my tab.
Have you thought about a BT keyboard?
Yes. But I still cling to my laptop and desktop PC when I need to do any actual work.
Have an bookmark for the "I made my bed for this post."
Lame. Just a bunch of tablets. That are sideways.
I don't know what this means. I'm 32 and I've never had braces or a retainer or anything like that.
