Of Monitors - Computer Setup

That looks absolutely AWESOME!
About 800e (+/- 100e) with shipping and stupid tax laws, but it is quiet!
I convinced a friend to get that case and it's a literal 5 minute cleanup for the fans. My Antec 1200 takes an hour to clean. A very long hour.
An hour-long hour? Daaamn man.
Yeah those 60 minutes sure felt like 60 minutes.
Wow, our computers are brothers. I have a CM Storm Quickfire Pro keyboard, Razer DeathAdder, and debezeled ATI 3240x1920 eyefinity. Old pic linked below.
The lines between the monitors (the bezels) would drive me insane. Maybe I'm just retarded, but I don't understand how people can deal with multi-monitor setups using Eyefinity!
Personal preference. For some people (myself included)if you use them for long enough you don't even really notice the bezels are there. That said I look forward to the day when completely bezel-less monitors are affordable.
Are there bezel-less monitors now? o.O
Everyone says that until they sit down and actually use one for more than 5 minutes. 6mm bezel gap in my case, goes away once you get in game almost immediately. I blacked out the bezels with electrical tape after the 2nd pic was taken (2nd pic is old test fit).
I'm sure everyone thinks it would be really annoying (I thought so too), but I don't think it is. I have an Eyefinity setup with bezels, which makes the gap about 2 inches on both sides. This still doesn't bother me, it's not like you look directly at the gap area very often, almost never actually. When you look at the center monitor, the side monitors are in you peripheral vision and add to the immersion, but you quickly forget about the gaps.
As someone else with a 3-monitor eyefinity setup (3600x1920), you learn to ignore the bezels.
Just try it out man, I've had my nVidia surround setup for about 3 years now and don't even notice the lines; ofcourse it only took a week or two to get use to them.
I'm a long time console gamer, but a year or so ago I started playing more on PC. I'm still using a laptop, but am looking to build a decent gaming rig some time soon. I am considering a multi monitor eyefinity setup, but have been worried the bezels will irritate me. From people comments, it would appear that is unlikely and I should aim for a multi monitor setup.

I love the debzel, how do you find the 1080px width for viewing web pages etc?
It is a little bit slim. Most webpages compress very well - I've only been on it for a couple of hours or so, so it's really hard to give a good opinion at the moment.
I came here for the spoon. Was not disappointed.
I'm not entirely sure why a company hasn't sucked it up and made a damn good monitor aimed at gamers, with very thin bezels. Charge an arm and a leg...a lot of us would still buy them.
Yeah, that bottom bezel kind of ruins it. Still would work for landscape though. I REALLY love that ultra wide monitor. Two of those and I'd be set! haha
The size of the "bezel" on that line of monitors is really deceiving. There's still quite a large gap between the edges of the lcd panel and the edge of monitor. Even the photo's most retailers use shows the image going to very edge of the monitor, which isn't what it looks like at all.
Wow, that's bullshit. I was actually looking into getting that monitor. Not anymore.
It's pretty blatant false advertising. Amazon, Newegg, and Bestbuy all show photos of the monitor with shopped in image going right up to the edges.
Wow that looks really ni....holy shit $1000!
Doesn't the silver metal of the bezel reflect too much ambient light from the screen and get annoying?
It's not too bad. I've ordered some matte black vinyl to finish the bezels with. Only stripped the monitors this evening.
Where did you buy the vinyl?
You could probably just use electrical tape
Well I could but I'm looking to covering my psu with matte black or carbon fiber vinyl. I'm hoping to buy from a store and not online to save me the trouble of waiting.
I would try auto part stores, they might have the 3M Di-Noc or something similar.
Great thanks for the tip!
The de-bezel makes eyefinity look so much more appealing. Also, are you really using all 20 inputs and 20 outputs on that Pro 40?
Yeah, after only a night of using it like this I'm finding the monitor setup to be fairly comfortable. Not even close to utilising all the in/outs on that sound card. I just picked it up for the right price. Most I've had going is 6in, 6 out, it's always nice to have room for expansion though!
Its a Ducky Shine 2 tenkeyless
What do you have that seems to be inbetween the monitors on the top?
What is the purpose of the electrical tape?
Hold the monitors together maybe?
Looks great! How easy was the debezeling?
Love the McGyver'd Goliathus mousepads. If you could buy two mediums, why not by the extended? :P
Bought them before the extended came out, they aren't causing me any grief so I don't see the need to replace them,
Ah okay. I have had my Goliathus for years, and it's still doing me good. Really comfy and smooth :)
OP, I have a question. You're a person who is willing to pay the extra buck for ultra high resolution. What I don't understand though, when I see these setups, is how you can completely ignore the two massive vertical lines going through your pristine picture?
What are the advantages of a Triple Vertical Monitor Setup over connecting your PC to a HDTV?
I'd say it's probably 1080p on EACH monitor instead of one 1080p TV, that is the advantage.
Ahhh yes, resolution would be much better on monitors, I was thinking it was because of latency but resolution makes a lot more sense.
The higher resolution is a positive.
I tried playing games on my TV and there was a little bit of latency as well.
Can you upload your wallpaper please?
Every time I see vertical monitors, I think of computer programmers.
Here I am thinking I'm so fancy with my room decor - this guy's got stonework on top of hardwood? Thanks for making my $100,000 condo look like a homeless shelter.
Lol I wish more people I know in RL had the same viewpoint on it. :) It's in a 150 year old disused textiles mill that was converted and they think I'm the one in a homeless shelter.
I love it. And those look like archways in your windows? My dream home is any high middle ages England castle. Your textile mill is as close as I'll ever get to that dream; I'm moving in.
Can you take a picture of the back? Would like to see your mount setup. Looks good!
They're standing on the table, duct taped together.
This is correct, although it is gaff tape. As I said in an earlier comment, I only stripped the monitors tonight and have just mocked it up to see if I like it (and if Starcraft 2 runs full screen - which it does). I will come up with a better mount solution once I've decided to keep it this way, it would be nice to get the monitors off the desk.
Very nice, I don't see enough black with white lighting anymore :P
Thanks! Yeah, I'm thinking about pulling the mouse apart and changing the LEDs for white. Everything must match!
Wait...you can do this? I would try it, but I would probably fuck up my mouse.
Just buy a mouse that has multi-color lighting so you could just change it via software.
Yeahhh, well I already bought a Deathadder 2013, so buying a new mouse just for some fancy lights is probably not worth it.
Just do yourself a favor and sell your Razer products, try something like the Logitech G9x out. You can thank me after.
I own a Logitech G9x. Went back to using a Razer mouse as it is better, in my opinion.
With my experience with Razer (mice, controllers, keyboards) they don't make products to last. Sure they look fucking awesome but when it comes to lasting for more than a year with no issues between the driver and hardware they fall flat.
Maybe you've just been unlucky.
I worked in a PC store for ~4 years and we only seen 1 mouse and 1 keyboard back in all that time.
It's not just me. Do some googling and you'll find many videos of how to fix Razer products.
I've owned a Razer Naga and Razer Lycosa for at least 2 1/2 years and I've had no problems with them.
Why? This is the best mouse I have ever used. You realize that Razer actually makes good Mice right? Their other products are Meh
My two Deathadders say no. They're great at first but then they go to shit after a year or two. Double clicking, lights disabling when you wake up the computer from sleep mode and then it freezes every 3 seconds, etc.
There's nothing wrong with Razer.
I like running portrait eyefinity aswell. Is there a guide on how to debezel? Why not overlap the bezel on the center screen?
Do you have a vesa mount on the back of the monitors after you debezeled it? Also what monitors did you use?
Something off the focusrite saffire line. How ya like it? I have a Pro 24.
Curious why you would spend all the money and do all the work to debezel an eyefinity setup with 16:9 displays. 16:10 would make a massive difference here.
4:3 even more so imo
Nice spoon you got there bro :)
Two quick questions on this -
What monitors are those - and did you have to take off part of the plastic bezel casing?
Looks like u got the D... the red D
Needs more electrical tape yo
